    Man, she's good:

"I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer," except that you have actual responsibilities. I might add that in small towns, we don't quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren't listening."

Absolutely hilarious!!! Talk about 'galvanized' alright... even the entire republican party knows they're done! hahaha

Noonan has posted her explanation at The Corner:

Here I must plead some confusion. In our off-air conversation, I got on the subject of the leaders of the Republican party assuming, now, that whatever the base of the Republican party thinks is what America thinks. I made the case that this is no longer true, that party leaders seem to me stuck in the assumptions of 1988 and 1994, the assumptions that reigned when they were young and coming up. "The first lesson they learned is the one they remember," I said to Todd — and I'm pretty certain that is a direct quote. But, I argued, that's over, those assumptions are yesterday, the party can no longer assume that its base is utterly in line with the thinking of the American people. And when I said, "It's over!" — and I said it more than once — that is what I was referring to. I am pretty certain that is exactly what Todd and Murphy understood I was referring to. In the truncated version of the conversation, on the Web, it appears I am saying the McCain campaign is over. I did not say it, and do not think it. In fact, at an on-the-record press symposium on the campaign on Monday, when all of those on the panel were pressed to predict who would win, I said that I didn't know, but that we just might find "This IS a country for old men." That is, McCain may well win. I do not think the campaign is over, I do not think this is settled, and did not suggest, back to the Todd-Murphy conversation, that "It's over."

    Ouch:

"This is a man [Obama] who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word "victory", except when he's talking about his own campaign."

"Yes, McCain wants to distance himself from Bush." After voting with him 95% of the time?

Meaningless stat. Show us a Republican senator who hasn't voted with his party "95 percent of the time" while Congress has been controlled by these deadbeats Pelosi and Reid .

The same Senate that voted unanimously to make Gen Petraeus the commander of all forces in Iraq included 25 defeatist Democrat senators who later voted against an amendment condemning the Soros-funded MoveOn.org smear of Petraeus published in the NY Times.

According to the average life expectancy for American men, he'll be dead before his first term's up.

McCain is now 72. He is the same age as Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi.

Average life expectancy for US males is now over 78.

But I think we can safely say John McCain was never your average American male.

If you want to factor in genetics it's Barack (redacted) Obama who is looking at a shorter than average life span, and one with a marked predisposition to addiction.

    The experience charge ?

I think the Republicans are once again sandbagging the gullible Dems on this one.

After weeks of liberal media indulging in the usual hysteria, faux indignation and breast-beating (and drowning out whatever positive message the Dems might have and need to get out) they'll release the relevant info on Gov Palin, pretending to do so reluctantly.

And ordinary folks will be able to review the paper trail of Palin's two years as governor and the ten years or so she spent in local government. Her experiance in the latter is not very well understood or appreciated by the media and pundits. But it boils down to countless executive decisions, hard fought and reviewed. Getting onto a local seat is one thing, remaining there quite another.

Palin can produce a paper trail.

Obama and the Chicago Machine that sent him are despeate to hide his.

Try googling Annenberg Challenge. It's Obama's only real executive experience.

And it proves that like all products he can't deliver change.

He can only deliver on the backrooom promises he made to people and groups who got him where his abilities and character couldn't.

Combine the Palin threads and you get over a thousand posts.

    She has Dems terrified.

No prob. The Republicans aren't going to win. The military vote will see to that.

    I always like that one.

Gore tried to have the overseas military vote disqualified in 2000. Kerry says you're in Iraq because you are stupid. Obama makes lofty and completely absurd promises to disarm America, and yet you get these guys here claiming they are military and ensuring us Obama inspires trust in the ranks of our armed services.

Relevance? No one, other than the Mormons and the Catholics, preach that.

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi ?

Surely they're dealing with the mess Bush Co left them in after 4 years in control?

    No, they're not.

This Dem - controlled Congress is the least accomplished in US history because they are deliberately putting off dealing with any major issue until the election, which they think will win them the presidency and senate majority. Historically they have fairly good reason to think it is their turn. But what they are doing is reckless and in very bad faith. Gas hits $4/gallon and Speaker Pelosi refuses to even allow legislation on drilling to be tabled. They want to abolish the secret ballot in unionized workplaces and though they basically control the mainstream media, academia and the three major networks, they intend to impose a new "Fairness Doctrine" applicable to each but transparently meant to muzzle talk radio. They can't compete in the marketplace of ideas so like the totalitarians they are and so revere they seek to silence the opposition rather than let the democratic process be left to the people.

I mean, Shrub actually addresses the convention via satellite .

    Does it matter?

NBC and CBS refused to even air Thompson's speech.

Just adds credence to Bill Mahrer's observation that Chris Mathews and Keef Olbermann looked like they were ready to have sex with Obama.

Nat'l Review's Jim Geraghty has summed it up best:

"In 72 hours, the media has subjected Bristol Palin to more scrutiny than they've given to Barack Obama in two years."

Dr James Dobson went on Dennis Praeger's nationally syndicated show a few days ago to inform listeners that he has changed his mind and decided he will support McCain after all.

I don't know much about the man - except that liberals hate him, they hate his mission and they hate the demographic he speaks for.

How many votes are we talking about?

46 percent of our work force is made up of women. Many of them with children.

It's been an interesting week on conservative radio.

Guys like Hugh Hewitt repeating how he and a lot of middle aged males and political junkies in particular are overwhelmed at the national reaction to Palin. So many women so pleased. It's not just conservatives.

And with the escalation in attacks that have followed revelations that Gov Palin's child has special needs, that her relationship with her in-laws was less than perfectly cordial, and that her teen daughter is pregnant have come a different kind of reply from women all across the country to the Dems, to the liberal media and to the little gremlins blogging at sites like DailyKos:

"The more they attack her the more I feel they are attacking me."

Obama's mother and father have never run for public office.

    And they are both dead.

I was merely pointing out that 'Bizarro-world' to describe conservative family values is a bit rich when you consider all the players in this election.

    • Well done, taka.

Actually, I was kinda hoping to lure an old chum back. But I think he has moved on to bigger and better things...

Considering that he got George W. Bush elected president twice, maybe his opinion should have been listened to.

There have been five presidents elected to two terms since WW2.

Dick Morris is the reason Bill Clinton is the sole Democrat on that list.

You might be interested in what he has to say about Palin.
