Geez... can you not differentiate between sarcasm and the literal? Did you not notice how I put 'pick him up' in quotation marks? It means that if any sort of hostilities began, China wouldn't send its troops in to pick the guy up (and my response was to the 'Come and get 'em' above), they would fire missiles (and I'm sure not care too much about the fisherman). Come on, dude.

Sorry I was half-joking. I forgot to use quotation marks, my bad. We all know that captain Zhan is not wort a war, much less nuking people or even asking North Korea to send an infiltration team. I try to be more clear next time.

Ummm... you don't want that... really. Japan wouldn't have a chance. And anyway, they'd send IBMs to 'pick him up'.

IBM's? You mean Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles? How someone can pick up someone by destroying cities? Is not more logic ask their client state North Korean to send an infiltration team? If they fail, China can say that it was an independent move not sanctioned by their government.

Agree, my parents made me take this ridicule "medicines" when I was a kid. If I don't suffered myself I can't believe to what kind of weird unscientific stuff parents can give to their children's. On the category of pseudoscience and magic.

Some people say that the majority of the chinese are deeply anti-japan and nationalists. If it so, then why they don't boycott japanese products and buy chinese in place of fill their homes with japanese branded products even if it cost 50% or more?

Also, I think that if some people feel so much pity for the violent captain Zhan, that they wish that is liberated for be in the funeral of his grandmother. They can donate money from their own pockets to pay the material damages that he did. That way they can show to everyone how much they really care for compassion.

...After Japanese authorities questioned the 14 crew members on a nearby Japanese island, they departed Monday on a Chinese chartered plane sent to collect them, the Foreign Ministry said. They had not been arrested, and were questioned on a voluntary basis. Japan also planned to release the Chinese ship, which will be operated by a new crew flown in on the Chinese plane, the ministry said. A Japanese court has granted prosecutors permission to keep the captain, Zhan Qixiong, in custody until Sept. 19 to decide whether to formally indict him.

The language used -- Japan was warned against making ‘misjudgements’ and urged to find a ‘wise political resolution’ -- was typical of the lecturing tone Chinese officials seemed to have adopted in recent months as they apparently co-ordinate efforts to alienate as many neighbours as possible. It’s a far cry from the charm offensive that China had appeared to be on until late last year to ease concerns about its growing clout. China’s media, meanwhile, has upped the emotional ante, reporting that Zhan’s grandmother died of a heart attack following news of his arrest (the China Daily itself merely reported that ‘Chinese media’ had reported the death – I would hope that someone, somewhere has checked on the veracity of the original report).

Let's suppose for a moment that a japanese captain of a trawler go near Dokdo. Two korean coast guards vessels ask him to let them aboard their ship for a search or leave the area. The japanese captain not only let them board or leave the area but also ram the two south koreans vessels. The koreans arrest and charge him of "interfering with the duties of korean public officials". The grandmother of the japanese captain die after heard that as being detained.

Now, who you think is responsible for the death of the grandmother? The koreans that detain a violent japanese captain or the violent japanese captain? Or is just an unpredictable event that cant be blamed on any of them in a court of justice?

Do the nationality of the people involved change your answer?

All that money, apparently, has done little to impress. A recent Pew Foundation poll found nearly six in 10 Pakistanis viewed the United States as an enemy; only one in 10 called it a partner.

In Japan we have similar experience with bad image in Asia, but in especial in Korea and China. Money like ODA can't buy public opinion. If they know that we have second intentions no one can call it "good intentions". Heck, in fact they know that the very moment you reach your goal, all the "help" is going to vanish or be reduced to the minimun, so "crafty" people can try to keep things going on forever.

then Japan should give top priority to nuclear disarmament...the fact of the matter is NK is least interested in holding such talks so long Japan is the participant.

With all due respect sir. Can you please elaborate in what part of this...

North Korea’s apparent interest in a quick resumption of "six-party" talks on Pyonyang’s nuclear program

...this new imply that North Korea don't want Japan being part of the six-party talks?

Actually, I feel relieved that C keep growing because is our main trading partner. This is increased by the weakness of the dollar and euro that make the US and EU markets less profitable. If don't was for the grow of the chinese economy, we can be in an even worst position right now. I am pragmatic, I don't care who have the biggest economy, I just wish that everyone get back on solid growth, because if C, the US or the EU economies don't grow, that is a problem for all of us.

We lost the Kurile islands. If we surrender later maybe the entire Hokkaido can be russian. If we surrendered even later, half of the country can be like North Korea. But some people still talk like the Soviet Union dont was a factor.

I wonder why some people keep bringing Unit 731 to the disscusion about if droping A-bombs on civilians was right ot wrong. Because...

After Imperial Japan surrendered to the Allies in 1945, Douglas MacArthur became the Supreme Commander of the Allied Powers, rebuilding Japan during the Allied occupation. MacArthur secretly granted immunity to the physicians of Unit 731 in exchange for providing America with their research on biological warfare.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_731

If it was so unforgibable that killing innocent babies with nukes was ok, why in place of hang people that practiced experiments on humans the US made a deal and allowed them live free?

    @SamuraiBlue

That is what the gobernaments of J and US wanted us to think. The trut is that the accounts from members of the gobernamente prove that the Emperor was quite involved in the war.

What we have is that many innocent civilians died, few of the people responsible was hanged and many of them ended working for the US, the Emperor the Unit 731, and a bunch of conservatives politicans in the LDP.

No. It's like people asking him to visit Aomori for Apples or Miyazaki for Mango...and Japan has 47 prefectures.

I never thought that nuclear bombings can be compared with food. Are you trying to lift our mood by making a joke that trivialize the value of huma lives?

Subtitles. The way to know another language and fully appreciate the talent of the actors. Dubbed is for little kids or people who have problems with reading and after a while everyone sounds the same.

Ok... I tried to stay the most neutral for the respect showed from some readers. But some others readers are making opinions that push morality in to a gray zone that I disagree.

If the soldiers of one country kill civilians do that means that the soldiers of our country can kill civilians of that country? Dont that lower our soldiers to the same level of them? Do innocent babies deserve to be killed by bombs for the crimes of their parents did? It is moral to kill hundreds or thousands of babies if that save hundreds or thousands of your comrades? Do God is going to judge us free of sin for enter the paradise when we die with our hands covered with the blood of innocents?

If we have to discuss these every year I am going to say it again every year. Let me make clear my opinion for the record: I don't question the reasons for drop atomic bombs in Japan. I am questioning the targets. Aim cities for kill civilians is wrong. That the bombs are high explosive, incendiary or nukes don't change the sin in my eyes. To say that there was no other option than kill civilians is only a convenient excuse with questionable morality and contested by many scholars.

Depends, do americans put pictures of the victims of the A-bombs with the Enola gay? Because that is not complete without showing the results of that plane. If the answer is yes, then I agree. If not then don't even ask.
