With all due respect I disagree with the idea that in J it work as a moral compas. Some japanese ultra-nationalists, think that violence is fine in the name of the emperor. If the emperor is a moral compass, then he is not doing a good job or some of the imperialists are deaf. But that can be because they seems to enjoy hearing militaristic imperial songs very loud.
J is not UK, just because I think that here is the symbol of a bunch of militaristic facists, it dont means that I think that is not a good thing in other country. If a monarchy work well in your country, thats great.

I envy the ausiess for having a team of just 10 that seems to be doing a lot for them. I mean, they send real salesmen, they dont just expect that the product sell itself and/or make excuses.

I dont know your country, so I talk only about mine. The most useless thing we have in J, in 21 century. Aside of live like rich with taxpayers money when we have homeless, what the heck they do? PR? Soft Power? Toyota, Sony, Anime and Manga do more for make people abroad think that we are cool and part of their lives, plus they bring money to our country. The excuse that is a tradition and part of our identity is as bad as the excuses for walling.

I think that some people take it to ridiculous extremes. I dont like gobernaments promoting one religion, in special if it discriminate others. But also I dont like the idea of gobernaments telling us that we cant carry a cross or a hat or a veil if we go to a public place.
Let me make an example: an NGO promoting the japanese culture in Argentina asked my mother to talk to some people explaining about buddhism Zen, but they told she that she cant go with religious clothes. The concept of tolerance and learning about something different seems to be lost here.
In place of a secular state that allow free religion, is like some people want a secular society, where religious traditions are standarized to conform a dress code that they dont find offensive to their eyes. Whats next? Every temple in the city dont have to look like a temple?
Posted in: In some countries, there are moves to ban or restrict the wearing of religious clothing and symbols such as burqas, veils, head scarves, skullcaps, turbans and crucifixes in public places like schools, recreational facilities and so on. What’s your stance?

The very same feeling I got in Argentina because everyone called me "chino" (spanish for male chinese) in the school. Some people brush it off like it is nothing, but it really hurted my feelings that people preffered to call me by a racial nickname based on my appearence than for my spanish given name. I find it superficial and rude as like calling someone "fatboy" just because it is overweight.

With all due respect, opinions can be very different from person to person. Some people can like to be seen just like any other japanese and keep personal data to them and the people they trust, others dont have a problem in give more personal information about themselves to strangers.
In my case Im not hafu, if we dont call okinawan a diferent race. But I dont mind to be called argentine-japanese due to be a nikkei, in fact I like it, it save time to me and dont feel shame and need to hide my cultural mixed roots, like you say it help to define who I am. But that dont mean that everyone have the same opinion as you and me, after all not everyone came from the same countries and have different cultures, to think that all are going to have or have to have the same reaction is a simplistic generalization. When I say, I think that is better dont ask, I mean to let the other person talk about it if that person want it, not to push personal questions. For example some people dont want to talk about a divorce, others dont mind. In my case I dont like to talk about the divorce of my parents, that can come up because I have the surname of my mother and not the surname of my father. I think that is common sense that build some trust must to be done before make personal questions to someone that we just meet.
Again, I am ot hafu. But even so in my humble opinion I agree with the idea that is a racial based word and for some people is an unwelcome word. To fail to see these is, I think that can be impolite.

Most people still dont is aware of how rude it "can" sound to some people from a different culture. Some even think that it is "cool", but to some it sound racist. I think that the safe bet is to go neutral and dont even mention it.

These is better than I imagined, now if we just can find a way to sell them cars and TVs made in Japan and not just what they can fit in their luggage like cameras and cosmetics, that can be awesome.

Is "business", selling entertaiment with sex is profitable like violence. But the age of consent in Japan is 13 years old, below that is clearly wrong. In my opinion there must to be a clear limit, the "lolicon" fantasy is going to far.

I got the impression that because the media concetrate on the Cheonan Incident, some14some may believe that Japan is doing nothing there.
So I tried but obviusly failed to explain, that the sumit was arrraged before for other reasons mainly about trade. China is not very interested in hear SK supported by Japan about the Cheonan incident, but they already committed to the sumit, so they went to the reunion and talked about NK after the original agenda on the second day of the sumit. The main result of the sumit as originally planned is more or less these.

I dont bealive that they (the leaders) hate each other like BurakuminDes think. I think that they dislike each other for the much bad blood between us from the past. So the fact that they can sit on the same table and agree on something, no matter how small it can look to others, for me is almost a miracle. For some people It can look like a laughable "pantomine". But for the pacifist people of Japan is a hope for a better future. Is a small seed and is going to take a lot of time and care for bear fruits, but I think that is worth our the effort.
I apologize for write a long post knowing how painful is read my english.

Er... maybe these as being overshadowed by the Cheonan incident but the reason why China is on the sumit is in fact about the three countries agreed on start a joint study for a trilateral FTA. Visas waivers for increase business travels and other serious business.

I try to read reviews before spend my money. In special if it is a big spending like a home apliance. About enterteinment like movies, books, music, games, etc... is more dificult, taste can be different, so an average from diferent reviews is less biased. Reviewers have their own style, I find some reviewers can give a realy different point of view and that is like extra fun if readed after for dont spoil the fun. Paraphrasing and old question: "Who review the reviewers"?
