I should remember this story for future reference. It seems like the deadbeat Dad well walk away with a stern warning not to Toss his wife off the balcony ever again. If ever I get to drunk and accidentally toss someone off our balcony, I will admit to launching the perp and also deny any intent of killing them. Will that work for a foreigner?

With all the regulations in place, what would you do if someone sitting next to you on an international flight acts suspicious and ends up being a nutjob with a bomb? A)press the help button for assistance and apoligize to the nutjob for infringing on his right to fly, or B) panic and subdue this nutjob to protect your life and your family?
I do appreciate the efforts TSA attempts to provide us, If they were not there thwarting possible terrrorists, we would be watching daily incidents of planes falling out of the sky.

KFC is a choice for families to make for their dinner plans. There is no right or wrong choices for an Xmas dinner. Is there a manual of proper foods to be served on certain days of the year? I BBQ'd chicken and steak for the 25th. My inlaws had a great time enjoying a great meal and spending time with the rest of the family (even though everyone arrived after 7 pm)

This 23-year-old Nigerian man(coward) is a joke. Allegedly he was studying to be a mechanical engineer (check the year books for his picture) and failed to build a explosive device. Like father like son, his dad should be investigated also for ties with Al Quida. How would the father not know what his son was doin? He funded everything from travel to education. I can not wait for the follow up story on this one. Thank goodness the USA is opening a holding facility for terrorists in Illonois. He will get what he deserves.

What happens next to the little girl? I feel sorry for her future, being used as a sex toy by the convicted child predetor and placed into human trafficing by who she should be thinking is her biological mother.
The mother has obviously done this multiple times via the internet and has a set price. The J-cops internet crime division and child welfare folks need to come together to find out how deep this goes. No mention on where the father is during all this horrible drama.

Interesting thoughts on prior posts! But still, this farmer has plenty of time to tend to his land and Hunt? Sounds fishy to me. Did he train them to hunt humans or to attack anything that trespassed onto his land?
I hope the children are OK and the farmer is given a hefty fine for being negligent to release his hunting dogs without supervision.

I think the part about "caked with cement, inside a large icebox located just outside the door of the first floor apartment" worries me the most. Abandoning a body would be second priority. If she is guilty, that is fine, but it she was afraid not to get involved , that is something else. Bottom line, this is another loss of life that can not be replaced.

This guy has some serious ego problems. To mark his territory by urinating in a mail slot is very twisted behavior. Must of read too much manga as a younger child and living out his fantasies. Keep an eye on this guy, he wil probably make the news in about two or three years.
With stories like this, I want to electrify my mail slot in case some wild urinator accidently waters my door.

Let this guy come down to Okinawa and punch a defenseless six year old girl in the stomach. I can guarantee there would be some more international news happening. This deviant has some serious ego problems to beat up a tough looking girl. Must of really been hard to crouch down low enough to swing at her stomach.
Here is an idea, put this tough guy in the ring with Kamida and Naito for two five minute rounds. His boxing skills could really be put to the test.
I hope she heals quickly and will not be emotionally scarred(and scared of men)for the rest of her life.

Bottom line on this story, Ichihashi-san has been arrested for the alleged murder of Miss Hawker. The only way I could see the family have some piece of mind from all this is to have Ichihashi be tried as a foreigner using the quick Japanese trial system. If he is tried as a normal Japanese citizen, he will probably have any sentence suspended due to mental helath problems. Would a normal criminal evade the law for two years and get plastic surgery to alter their appearance and remain in Japan to eventually be caught?

the sicilian: you are right, most stories about okinawa politics are from mainland Japanese folks that have a secret prejudice against Okinawa.
Do you really think he cares about Okinawa or more about his personal agenda to make a bigger name for himself.

This is almost off post, but the comment:
The folks making this remark have not been following the crime section in Japan today and other news. The Crime ratio of base related crimes to Japanese related crimes is very small. Maybe .25 of one percent? Enviormental damage really irritates me also, has any one noticed how much of the coral reef has been destroyed from the J-resorts and J-shipping ports being built in Okinawa? And the noise..Has there been a comprehensive noise survey on the international airports in mainland? I am pretty sure the population around some of the mainland airports is more than okinawa's.

Must be nice to have the ability to dine and dash 53 times. Lets do the math, Three people times 28 days times three meals a day equals 252. So they must of had seconds and thirds just visiting 53 times and eating 351 bentos.
