This little girl is fortunate that her life is spared from this mentally sick woman. Her other three sisters were not as lucky. Her first born may have been a boy and not on the mothers list to murder. The father may have been the root cause of it all, but we may never know. The children should be removed from this dangerous environment and the woman needs to be legally institutionalized. If she can be cured of this mental condition, then charge her with three counts of pre-meditated murder and one count of attempted murder. Sorry, I was a bit on the loopy side, once a nutjob, always a nut job. She will get her sentence suspended due to mental illness at the time she allegedly tried to murder her children.

Seat belts save lives, I just hope this story doesn't have a follow up story with a gomenasai suicide note being found in his apartment. But on the other hand, going home at 4:30 am, he may have been leaving a bonenkai and heading home. You never know until the full story comes out.

From watering your plants to finding a bullet lodged in your license plate, the stress must be unbearable. There will probably a follow-up story tomorrow saying the car was involved in something illegal near the firing ranges. Lucky it wasn't near one of the JSDF ranges.

Slavery, what a subject for discusion. The binding of a student for demonstration purposes was wrong, a discussion would have been more appropriate. Slavery is no longer a player in the US, just a tool to use for people to get noticed.

If they claim religious immunity, they may be exempt from any prosecution. You never know, they may have been trying to build an Ark and collecting the animals in preperation of the big flood. Another twist to an ongoing story of animal smuggling.

Another tragic story with a youngster losing their life. I feel for Miwa and can only be thankful she has the strength to carry on. Her public life may be vastly different form her personal life. But for now, she is Ok.

I haven't heard of anyone being arrested for not wearing seat belts, but I would suggest if the law is changed to just write them a ticket and have the pregnant ladies buckle up before sending them on their way.

It sounds like he is the number one son of the family and had some issues he couldn't resolve by himself. Maybe he was upset because she didn't cook him breakfast. Worse thinngs have happened with family arguments. This story will unfold later to find out the man did not have control of his mental state or he may have been under the influence of illegal drugs.

That is a funny thing to be brought up. There had been instances where American Military folks that witness crimes like this in the past(okinawa) had made the decision to detain such criminals until the JP's get on scene. Media hype had been seriously downplayed, but they were thanked by the victim and police. Double standards, or just not newsworthy enough?
Personally, if a slasher like this is caught, I believe in the "eye for an eye" justice should be invoked during their prison sentence. They should feel the cold steel slicing through their skin and taste the fear as they helplessy watch themselves get cut.
That must be the parent in me. After raising four children, you get very protective of their well-being and wish the worst to those that could cause harm to them.

I love this post, most people can only critize the company's attempt to lower costs for fuel consumption. Look at the big picture, if there was some type of emergency at 20,000+ feet, what are the odds of anyone surviving? Once the airliner had made the emergency landing in the water, the alternate floatation devices would be deployed. That and the proximaty of rescue forces in the area would be there in a timely manner. I would love to read the responses of the readers if ANA or JAL would remove the floatation devices on the Fukuoka to Tokyo routes. The over water portion is minimal, yet unavoidable.

Always blame the foreigners before the locals seems to be a common thread for most stories. Drug usage is a problem in any country and will be for a long time. I am not condoning its use, but people will get caught and will be prosecuted. Those that haven't been caught are on borrowed time. Japanese, Americans, Russians, it doesn't matter.
Alcohol use and driving are illegal, people get caught all the time. The headlines will hit only those that are high profile.
Getting back to the thread, you gotta wonder what the fine will be for Wakanoho before he gets deported?
