How the hell do you drop a gun to your head? Especially in a bathroom stall? Suicide 99.9% likely. The question is why? It's sad that a human life was lost, but scary to think this guy was a police officer with access to a gun and could have hurt and/or killed a lot of people before his demise. A sign of troubling times.

CavemanLawyer- Your ideas are certainly in the stone age. Hee Hee! People are rich by working hard and living moral lives. We are the richest family in our communitty, have been for decades, and we pay are staff well above min wage. People like myself, are the motor, we employ, and morally we are responsible for ordinary folks welfare. Our riches are spraed amongst reglar folk, and everyone benefits. If the poorest were given more money, it wouldbenefit, drug drealers, bar owners and strip joints. McCain is correct, brave and moral, i trust him to run my country. >

SwiftBoatVet first of all, learn how to spell. For a person who claims to take care of us poor ole' regular folk, you don't seem very educated. And it's people like YOU my friend, that are the problem that is plaguing America. You are the privileged few who vote for an image rather than the facts.

As far as McCain being a 'moral' person, you need to check your facts and McCain's history. He's an opportunist and will do and say anything to get ahead. You can tell this just by looking at his marriage record, he went from one rich woman to another just months after or during his first marriage ended because he was cheating with his second wife.

Taken from his page on Wikipedia: McCain's pre-combat duty began when he was commissioned an ensign, and started two and a half years of training at Pensacola as a naval aviator. While there, he earned a reputation as a partying man.

On July 3, 1965, McCain married Carol Shepp, a model originally from Philadelphia. McCain adopted her two young children Douglas and Andrew. He and Carol then had a daughter named Sidney.

In 1976 he became commanding officer of a training squadron stationed in Florida. During his period in Florida, McCain had extramarital affairs, and the McCains' marriage began to falter, for which he later would accept blame.

In April 1979, McCain met Cindy Lou Hensley, a teacher from Phoenix, Arizona, whose father had founded a large beer distributorship.[59] They began dating, and he urged his wife Carol to grant him a divorce, which she did in February 1980, with the uncontested divorce taking effect in April 1980. The settlement included two houses, and financial support for her ongoing medical treatments due to her 1969 car accident; they would remain on good terms.[59] McCain and Hensley were married on May 17, 1980, with Senators William Cohen and Gary Hart attending as groomsmen. McCain’s children did not attend, and several years would pass before they reconciled.

McCain decided to leave the Navy. It was doubtful whether he would ever be promoted to the rank of full admiral, as he had poor annual physicals and had been given no major sea command. His chances of being promoted to rear admiral were better, but McCain declined that prospect, as he had already made plans to run for Congress and said he could "do more good there." McCain retired from the Navy on April 1, 1981 as a captain.

McCain set his sights on becoming a Congressman because he was interested in current events, was ready for a new challenge, and had developed political ambitions during his time as Senate liaison.

Living in Phoenix, he went to work for Hensley & Co., his new father-in-law Jim Hensley's large Anheuser-Busch beer distributorship. As Vice President of Public Relations at the distributorship, he gained political support among the local business community, meeting powerful figures such as banker Charles Keating, Jr., real estate developer Fife Symington III and newspaper publisher Darrow "Duke" Tully.

In 1982, McCain ran as a Republican for an open seat in Arizona's 1st congressional district. A newcomer to the state, McCain was hit with repeated charges of being a carpetbagger.

With the assistance of local political endorsements, his Washington connections, as well as money that his wife lent to his campaign, McCain won a highly contested primary election. He then easily won the general election in the heavily Republican district.

In 1983, McCain was elected to lead the incoming group of Republican representatives.

Also that year, he opposed creation of a federal Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, but admitted in 2008: "I was wrong and eventually realized that, in time to give full support [in 1990] for a state holiday in Arizona." McCain's politics at this point were mainly in line with President Ronald Reagan

(Anyone remember Reaganomics? Which took our country from being the world's largest international creditor to the world's largest debtor nation. There was a massive increase in Cold War related defense spending that caused large budget deficits, the U.S. trade deficit expansion, and contributed to the Savings and Loan crisis, as well as the stock market crash of 1987. In order to cover new federal budget deficits, the United States borrowed heavily both domestically and abroad, raising the national debt from $700 billion to $3 trillion, and the United States moved from being the world's largest international creditor to the world's largest debtor nation.

Sound familiar? Heavily Tax the poor, give tax breaks to the rich and/or large corporations, Spend heavily on War. Wow!, sounds a lot like the Bush administration. And we are now seeing the results of that with the RealEstate Crisis, and meltdown of large financial institutions like Lehman Brothers, high unemployment etc... but that's another subject, let's get back to McCain's moral record.)

To reiterate: **Hensley met John McCain in April 1979 at a military reception in Hawaii. He was the U.S. Navy liaison officer to the United States Senate, almost eighteen years her senior. McCain and Hensley quickly began a relationship, traveling between Arizona and Washington to see each other. John McCain pushed to end his marriage of fourteen years; Carol McCain and John McCain stopped cohabiting in January 1980, and Carol accepted a divorce in February of 1980, effective in April 1980. John and Cindy were married on May 17, 1980 at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix.

Her father's business and political contacts helped gain her husband a foothold into Arizona politics. She campaigned with her husband door-to-door during his successful first bid for U.S. Congress in 1982, and was heavily involved in campaign strategy. Her wealth from an expired trust from her parents provided significant loans to the campaign and helped it survive a period of early debt.**

(Sounds like a plan to me. A recipe for how to get rich. Marry into a wealthy family, use daddy-in-law's business and political contacts to get into local politics and the rest is HIStory. And did I mention that he voted against establishing a holiday for a great humanitarian like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? What would posses anyone in their right mind to do something like that? McCain is no more moral than any other politician, he just fits the mold of being white and successful so therefore he must be a good person right? WRONG!!!!

Judge the man on what he stands for, his solutions to our economic problems, healthcare, energy crisis, and the war. That is what we should be looking at. IMHO, McCain is the wrong person and has the wrong answers for all of the above.)

people are saying that he is weak on foreign policy, over the years we have been tough,gun-toting,gun-blazing America. where has it gotten us?

The only reason people will vote for that old "white" geezer is that he is WHITE. Obama has been talking "substance" all the time. BUT, still people didnt care. His "blackness" IS to blatant for those folk who hate and will continue to hate black people no matter what DEGREE of colorness they have.We are still a very racist country DEEP down, just today, people have ingenius ways to cover it up. >

When I read about people saying there are not going to vote for Obama they usually include his middle name "Hussein" in capital letters, as though is was an offensive to have a name other than William or John or George etc... in America; in other words typical white Anglo-Saxon names.

Yes America is still one the most racist countries in the world. Don't believe me? Try playing any game on Xbox Live. You'll be called a N***er at least 15 times by 10 to 25 year old white boys and girls before the round is over. Pre-911 most racism was underground but post-911, President Bush has given everyone the OK to be blatantly racist under the disguise of nationalism. Chris Rock said it best here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=auqRgzuLaK8. It this skit Chris Rock mentions that we need to more afraid of young white males than al-Qaeda. I would tend to agree.

It was also Bush who while serving as Gov. of Texas who showed no remorse and didn't even show up to the funeral of James Byrd: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JamesByrdJr. a black who horrendously slain (in Texas) by three white men who offered to give him a ride home (one of which he knew). When asked if Texas needed stricter legislation for hate crimes after the verdict, Bush serving as Governor said no. I think we know where Bush stands on racism.

Our beautiful country is being run into the ground by ignorance fueled by racism. Most people who say they won't vote for Obama only see a 'N***er in a suit' rather than a person who is trying to change our country for the better. And being from Delaware, I'm also happy that he has chosen Joe Biden as his running mate. Biden is as tough as nails and won't be afraid to drive Obama's agenda. That scares the shit of these racist heel kickers. Yes Obama is a young idealist but I say give it a try, because what we have now isn't working. Who cares what race he or Biden are. They are a better choice for our country simply because they are trying to do something different. Like the old saying goes, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it', well there's evidence that our country is not only broken, it has been smashed into little racial pieces and it's time to start rebuilding. I'm more afraid of what will happen to our country and the future of the world if Obama doesn't become President. Let's not forget that Bush is still losing the wars in both Iraq and and Afghanistan and now wants to go to war with Iran. Bush is stupidity at it highest level. Once again I leave you with a video from Chris Rock: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YrF6mG6Mx_8

OMG!!! The National Age Of Consent in Japan is 13. Each prefecture has their regional laws, but by national law, it's legal to sleep with a 13 year old. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AgesofconsentinAsia

This girl is well above that age so why is this news? Seems that Japan is just putting on a show for the western world to conceal the fact that this is a nation of perverts and pedophiles.

You might dip them in a barrel of dye but it's just a facade. The stripes are still there. >

Leopards that are black with spots are called Panthers, same animal, but we just call it buy a different name. A precious stone whose hardness is 9 and whose color is red, we call a ruby. If the same stone is blue, we call it a sapphire. Same stone we just call it by a different name. If a person is weird and poor, we call them strange, if a person is weird and rich, we call them eccentric.

In Japan if a person has a regular job and sleeps with a 17 girl, it's national news. We call him a pervert. If he's in the entertainment business, he promotes her, sells her (basically pimps her out), ocassionally marries her (once she becomes of age) and no one raises an eyebrow. In that case we call him a Producer. Same animal, different name.

Stories like these used to disgust me as I have a daughter who is now 20, but now I realize that this is the norm in Japan, whether we like it or not. I even had a high school girl try to pick me up on the train once and she was very transparent about her intentions. I'm not in any way saying I condone these actions, but I do think that it's hypocritical for a country that obviously promotes pedophilia everywhere e.g. in magazines, on TV, in movies etc... to try and make a big deal of it when a government employee gets caught. How is he any different from the 100s of Producers and "Geinojin" who do it everyday and some who even make money from it. And many of these girls aren't in any way innocent victims.

By the way, does anyone know the legal age of consent in Japan?

Oh yeah and at 7:45 AM on a Sunday morning? More-than-likely coming from a Love Hotel than going to school. Besides there's no school on Sunday in Japan.

As for the typical Japanese city biker, with no eye protection, a pudding bowl helmet hanging down the back of his neck, puffing on a fag while chatting to his mini-skirted girl on the back, and a road manner that seems to suggest he has a death wish... god knows how they get away with it most of the time. Is there no road safety education in Japan?

Yeah, but apparently it's only for us "unruly foreigners". Has anyone here ever tried taking the Japanese driver's license test? An absolute joke. The questions are strangely worded in English so that they don't make any sense at all, and when me and several other examinees pointed that out to the non-English speaking Japanese test examiner, he shouted "preposterous" and quickly dismissed us as idiots even though as an American, I'm a native English speaker.

The questions on the test made about as much sense as some of the stupid crap (in English) you read in Japanese T-Shirts, only worse. They are designed to trick you into failing rather than test your knowledge of Japanese traffic laws. The whole process is rather stupid.

Furthermore, IMO if all the guy was guilty of was running a red light I think he would have stopped for the police. Guilty people run plain & simple. He was obviously guilty of something more than a simple traffic violation to prompt him to try and outrun the police. In 20 years of living in Japan, I've definitely been pulled over by the police on my bike and in my car (both extremely fast) but attempting to outrun them has never been a thought on my mind.

Now I'm not saying I was innocent, I've paid my share of fines, what I'm saying is I wasn't guilty enough of something so bad to cause me to panic and try and outrun them. So please don't make excuses for this guy. He was guilty of something and his actions prove it.

kawaiitenshi you have to be Japanese because only a naive Japanese person would come to the conclusions that you've come to. The norm in Japan is that YES, many J-men date young under aged girls in this country and YES they are certainly many bosozoku (not sure if I'm saying it right) who do things like run red lights and then try to outrun the police. As this is the norm, your assumptions are based on the exception to the rule. So if this guy was innocently driving his young sister to school and just happen to be in a rush running a red light, but generally of good character until the police start chasing him, then it would be a first. Even putting it all together in a sentence sounds absurd.

And the reason why I say you must be Japanese is because that is also a Japanese norm, whenever a Japanese does something or is suspected of doing something wrong in this country, Japanese people always want to sweep it under the carpet, rationalize it, live in denial and/or blame it on the foreigners. It's the reason why things never change and the reason why they are getting worse.

As Japanese, you can no longer wish your crime, HIV epidemic, child abuse, high suicide rate, rape, pedophilia etc... away, it's time to admit there's a problem and start taking steps to deal with. The more you try to deny it, the worse these problems will get until you eventually drown in your own deceit.

As far as this story is concerned, I think the police also have responsibility for this guy's death. They should have broken off pursuit when things began to look dangerous. My father is a retired police officer and I know that in America, the police will pull back if they think the person they are chasing is in danger of hurting himself and/or others. But also typical Japanese behavior is the lack of concern for human life.

The lack of common sense in this country never ceases to amaze me even after living here for 20+ years.

Girl: wanting a cell phone so bad that she would keep reaching for it even when she realized this idiot was closing the window on her hand. Although I'm sure she didn't imagine he would drive her around the parking lot, she must have known a window being shut on a hand or an arm would be painful.

Guy: Shuts the window on her hand trapping it, which in and of itself runs a high risk of injury e.g. broken or fractured wrist, fingers etc..., and then speeds off. He then tells the police "he didn't intend to harm her". Stupidity at it highest level.

If you ask me, I think they deserve each other.

It also touches on a deeper issue that Japanese have little understanding or regard for human life. In Japan, you can get more jail time for embezzlement than for something as horrific as rape or child abuse.

This girl was willing to risk her life for something as meaningless as a cell phone and this guy was willing to throw away his life for the same meaningless object.

    It's really sad.
