Fance should more concentrate on ousting Idriss Dembe in Chad. Oh wait...France controls the oil there so that dicktator is ok. This is the hypocrisy of the West. Will Germany also freeze BILLIONS of Bahrain's money? The MAJORITY Shia population is getting screwed there. Oh, but the US 5th Fleet is parked at Bahrain's port. More double speak.
What will happen to all these BILLION$ of Libyan dollar$ that has been frozen?? Who decides when to unfreeze them? What conditions must be met? This is sheer arrogance & manipulation! When will other countries FREEZE American assets for their illegal wars?? That would be a telling story.

After pleading from the uprising’s leaders, Britain and France began drafting a U.N. resolution for a no-fly zone in Libya that could balance the scales.
And where was the US when the Egyptians & Tunisians needed a nofly zone? This selective humanitarian imperailism is getting annoying & the entire non-Western world sees through this charade. Why is the US not being tough on the Bahrain government? The Shias are the majority yet the minority Sunnis treat them like crap. Oh, I get it...the US 5th Fleet is docked at Bahrain so it's okay for the Sheik there to brutalize his people. And US politicians wonder 'WHY THEY HATE US?' They hate your hypocrasy!

*“May I just say, personally I don’t think it’s `loose talk’ on the part of the people on the ground in Libya or the Arab League or others, including the prime minister of England, that this option should be given the strongest consideration,” McCain said.
Endorsing McCain’s remarks, Sen Joe Lieberman, an independent, said another option was to provide U.S. air defense weapons to the Libyan rebels and to train them in their use.*
Oh my GOD!!! The utter HYPOCRISY in the US...and it's above board for EVERYONE to SEE!! Hello?? What about Bahrain with a huge MAJORITY of Shia and the Sunni Sheik using live bullets on the PEOPLE?? Where's the call to have 'free & fair elections' in Bahrain? Hillary & King Obama are QUIETR as a lamb. Oh, I get it! The 5th Fleet is stationed there to protect the oil so they'd prefer dealing with despots than the PEOPLE who would ultimately tell the fleet to get the Hell out.
Also, where was the call from the US bureaucrats for Zine bin Ali (Tunisia) & Mubarak to leave when things were getting out of hand?? If the US thinks no one's watching this double speak & TAKING NOTES, they are WRONG.
Even when Libya becomes FREE, they will NOT want to be close allies to the US anyways. Ditto for the NEW Egypt & Tunisia. This is simply because the people see the real political/business motives of US Middle East policies.
And where's Ocampo to threaten Bahrain's rulers on the possibility of going to he Hague if they keep using live ammo? This is why the West is gradually fading away and new BRIC powers ascend.

He added that the instability in Libya constituted an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to U.S. national security and foreign policy.
And the US hasn't contributed to instability in the Middle East & North Africa over the past 40 years or so by supporting Israel & turning a blind eye to obedient dictators?? Utter hypocrisy from OBAMA (One Big Ass Mistake America). So what threat does this pose to US national security?? It's too late, invading Iraq & Afghanistan has done far worse damage to 'security' at home. Why did he not move quicker to freeze the assets of Bin Ali (Tunisia) & Mubarak??
More double standards.

“What we can tell you was that Boeing was a clear winner,” said Deputy Defense Secretary William Lynn.
Excuse me?? It appears the American 'main street' citizen got screwed here. $35 billion could do a LOT in these depressed times. But, I forgot, the military budget is off limits. Why can't they pump this kind of money into alternative energy projects/contracts and encouraging the masses to grow hemp for industrial & medicinal use.
And that money is coming from the Chinese who seem happy buying our debt for some reason! So, we're borrowing money from the Chinese to fund the Defence department who is increasingly antagonistic to the rising power that is China. This is warped logic and is UNSUSTAINABLE in the long run.

As the 3 Weird Witchs said in MacBeth, "double double, toil & trouble, fire burn & cauldron bubble." The situation is in the Middle East is really getting desperate. People WANT to be FREE and MAJORITIES want a proportionate share in their governments. No doubt Bahrain is the most tricky since a minority (which is anti-Iran) is in power. Here's it's about oil, oil, oil. Egypt & Tunisia do not have that extra dimension. I think a LOT of people are gonna get killed here before any progress is made.

You know the 5th Fleet commanders are probably telling Bahrain's rulers to "not loose this one like Tunisia & Egypt. The Shiites will kick out out to sea & we won't have a port to maintain our hegemony." :-)

Clinton suggested there were U.S. concerns over the possibility of the Brotherhood seizing direction of the movement. She warned against a takeover resembling the one in Iran, with a “small group that doesn’t represent the full diversity of Egyptian society” seizing control and imposing its ideological beliefs.
Ha ha ha ha ha...Hillary, u are truly hilarious! If your government DIDN'T overthrow the democratically elected government of Mohammed Mossadeq in 1953 (only because he wanted to nationalize the Anglo-Iranian Oil company so his countrymen can have a bigger slice of the profits that were going OUTSIDE to the West), then Iran would be the BEST example of democracy that the Middle East would have ever seen. Oh the hypocrisy.

Friday’s statement is also unlikely to resolve the most vexing problem facing the G-20 members: how to fix a global economy that’s long been marked by huge U.S. trade deficits with exporters like China, Germany and Japan.
WHY oh why doesn't the US learn to pay NOW for its goods & services from the rest of the world instead of LATER?? This is the main problem that the other G-20 countries don't shout loud enough about. Are they afraid of insulting Americans? The truth hurts: Stop running up huge deficits and holding countries like Japan and China hostage with a huge pile of paper IOUs.
On the other hand, the G-20 has been grossly IRRESPONSIBLE in letting the US get away with this financial suicide over the past 20 or 30 years. If a corporation were to take on such proportional debt, the banks would call in their loans and/or would NOT lend it any more money UNTIL it paid down a good chunk of its debt. So WHY does the US get away with this behaviour? If that were Argentina, Iceland, or Greece, all hell would break loose a LONG time ago. Again, I blame the US "lap dog" media for not giving their audience the full scoop. Then again, corporations own the media.
According to the investment guru, Jim Rogers, the US became a net debtor nation around 1988 and racks up $1 Trillion of debt every 15 months (or something like that). Peek YouTube to see tons of Jim Rogers interviews. The dude is a genius and he keeps saying the US dollar and it's economy are not fundamentally sound.

Afro-Americans and Latinos in the US also are annoyed at the racist, disproportionate drug sentences they receive in comparison to whites who are caught with marijuana. Obviously this was deliberate...to disenfranchise a certain segment of the population. This is just one of the many reasons why cannabis should be LEGALIZED. Let the cops do REAL police work and go after DANGEROUS criminals like rapists, child molesters, terrorists et al.

"Where were the voices of TimR, manfromamerica, RR2, etc. when bush and the GOP was ratcheting up the federal debt by $6 trillion? Silent. Nothing. Not a squeak. Now, when the other team is in charge, they all go nuts. Conservatives' thought masters in the Right wing media may well turn out to be king makers this cycle."
SushiSake is RIGHT on the MONEY. WHERE oh where were the Republican fanboys when Bush1-2/Reagan ran up the federal deficit and with massive military spending?? All that money that went to the military could've been used to pay off debts and fund programs for the WORKING CLASS. Can a right wing fanboy please explain this long slumber and a sudden AWAKENING once Obama came to power???
Mind u, I'm not too thrilled with Obama -- I'm not even American. He should NOT have bailed out the banks or even GM. Republican fanboys claim they don't want the government interfering with the economy?? Right?? Well, the Feds should've cut the life-line to the banks, GM and other UNPRODUCTIVE entities. Also, Obama should've ended the War on Drugs and save his countrymen BILLION$. And the US needs to cut Defence (er Offence) spending to about $380 BILLION. Bush was very soft of illegal immigrants because most businesses LOVE the CHEAP labour costs that Americans won't accept. Utter hypocrisy here.
Finally, it was big business (what Republicans like) that sent all of those jobs to China. And they ain't ever coming back. So HOW will these jobs materialize in the future??

Talking2U has the right idea. Now, check this out:
Cash aid programs, neighborhood improvement initiatives, educational and job-training programs were part of the new strategy, together with ubiquitous convoys of blue federal police trucks patrolling “safe corridors” throughout the city.
Well, the cash-aid programs aren't as LUCRATIVE as the EASY drug money. Right?? It's obvious what Mexico and the US must do: LEGALIZE all recreational drugs. Of course, we all know that both governments have their dirty hands in the drug trade and that's why it's too hard to give up. Only a fool would believe otherwise. Furthermore, it's clear both governments do not give a rat's ass about PUBLIC SAFETY; otherwise they would've legalized said drugs a LONG time ago. People, wake up and ELECT sensible leaders.
It all starts on Nov 2 in California with Prop 19 to LEGALIZE cannabis (marijuana). The majority is now in favour of this and I predict that this event will be a domino effect in other US states and countries around the world. Mark my words!! Novemeber 2nd, 2010 is the day that the Mexican drug cartels start to lose their free money.

It's amazing how GOP backers shy away from pertinent questions relating to the rampant spending of the Bush era, 2 failed wars, unwise tax cuts and a host of other gaffes. Honestly, I don't see Democrats or Republicans solving America's mess.
What's needed is 1 or 2 true alternative parties who can form some sort of coalition. A major problem with US elections is that you vote one party out, and the other gains control. It's the biggest farce of democracy on the planet.
In Canada we have about 5 viable alternatives (Conservatives, Bloc, NDP, Green Party, Liberal) and about 11 fringe parties who vy for power. The irony, eh??
@TimRussert SuishiSake3 has thrown a lot of sensible questions your way, but you fail miserably to answer them. Where did Clinton's surplus go that Bush inherited? To think 48% of eligible voters in 2008 chose McCain/Palin for the White House says a lot about flawed logic. And this is a Canadian's perspective.

"“Look what a nation, what a state and what an army the state of Israel has. We will continue building, we will continue to create our state and we will know well how to defend ourselves.”"
Yeah, Bibi. But don't forget to thank to US taxpayers for the generous loans & free MONEY amounting in value of hundreds of BILLIONS (maybe a trillion?) since independence. A silent majority within the US are annoyed that their tax dollars are supporting Israel and its policies. Talk about misrepresentation WITH taxation.
