Who were these so called "Japanese Officials" representing? Was it political or business. Either way, the Japanese government has never atoned for what it did concerning the "comfort women". The German government a long time ago came to grips with the Holocaust. Although it took a long time the USA apologized for the interminet of Japanese civilians during WWII. The way it looks right now, hell will freeze over before the Japanese government comes around.

Like it or not, there will be more nuclear reactors coming back on line before this summer is over. Japan right now does not have a viable alternative to replace the power lost that keeping the nuclear reactors offline brings.

The 2012 Presidential election will not be decided on the issue of "same sex marriage". It will be decided by a smart public that sees through the hypocrisy of Mitt Romney. This man has no touch with reality. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has no idea how to address the problems of the common man. As Governor of Massachusetts he passed a state wide health care plan that Obama used as a model for his health care plan. Guess what? Mitt Romney and his GOP cronies where against it. When he wants to get a feel on what the women in American think about certain issues he turns to his wife for answers. A women who has never had to work a day in her life and has no idea what the the average american women is going through. Here is a guy who when strapped for cash in his early years, had to cash in stocks and bonds that his father had given to him. I feel for him. As a Republican he is for less interference by the Federal government into the affairs of the individual States. But now he is all for passing a Constitutional ammendment which will define marriage as a union between "one man and one woman", thereby taking this out of the hands of the individual states.

The death of the little girl is a tragedy. Because the bus is a lot bigger than the child the bus driver is going to shoulder the blame. However, from my years of driving in Japan I've noticed that the majority of pedestrians do not practice safety when crossing streets. Likewise, drivers also seem to forget what they were taught about safe driving practices after completing a very lengthy and expensive process to obtain a driver's license.

I'm sure you folks that are against restarting the nuclear power plants will be among the first to complain when you can't use your air cons this summer because the power grid can't handle it.

Conservatives (i.e GOP) in the USA have a phobia concerning anything Socialistic. That's why they fought so hard against Obama's health care plan. Now we end up with a "watered" down version and they are still against it.

So far we take our shoes, belts, and coats off before going through the security checkpoints. What's next? Full checks of all body cavities? Who knows how this nut-job Nigerian got this material aboard the airplane.
