LOLOL. Ok I think it's pretty definitive end to this "deabte" when even the "takeshima" crowd can't give half-nonhilarious response. So multiple maps made by Japanese academics show Dokdo as being Korean property and so far the responses are: 1. Just bc it's not within Japan doesn't mean it's KOrea's. LOL cartographer even colored Dokdo same color as Korea. 2. The boundary lines that show Dokdo as being outside of Japan and Korea aren't "national boundary" lines. LOL. I guess not since in their view the other side of line is Korea which was soon to be part of Japan. 3. Koreans have to use Japanese map bc they can't even plot Dokdo in their own map. LOLOL. No there are plenty of Korean maps that show Dokdo within Korean boundary. I'm just showing Japanese maps for obvious reasons. Give me a break.

No, unless you want to South Korea bringing in 500 abducted by North Korea and N and S Korea jointly bringing 5.4 million abducted during Japanese occupation in the discussion.

LOL. The Japanese maps clearly show the boundary going around Ullungdo and Dokdo but the boundary is not "national boundary"?? LOL I suppose that's true since Japan invaded Korea and claimed the entire peninsula. You have to be blind not see the line delineating Korea and Japan. The "other island" is described as being separated to Ullungdo as Oki is to Japanese mainland. That's Dokdo. These are some laughable claims.

Japanese Ministry of Culture 1887 shows Dokdo to be Korean territory: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7dyREffv9bw/UD6hdm48nMI/AAAAAAAAG0I/PIh9tyiqCvM/s1600/Dokdo+in+Japanese+Textbook.jpg There are dozens of these Japanese historical references that indicate Dokdo as Korean territory. Not a single Korean historical reference makes the counter-mistake.

No Japan you did not "discover" Dokdo terra nullis in 1905 and then get "invited" to take over Korea in 1909. Let's stop with the BS, call it as it is and move on please. Jeez louise. Anything involving land claims in and around 1900's with Korea is a losing cause.

I actually looked this up. Seems like there's several Japanese botany publications from a 1939 Japanese botany publication as well as 1989 agricultural report from Tsukuba University on plants that describes yoshino being brought from Jejudo Island. With recent DNA tests show Jejudo king's cherry DNA markers showing up on yoshino which isn't surprising since yoshino is a hybrid. It may also be true that these flowers can be traced to Tibet just like all humanity can be traced back to Africa. Enjoy the friggin flowers and leave the nationalism out.

Good grief all the China and Korea hate and pro-Japan chest thumping. What's the use of complaining about China or Korea if you're going to do the exact behavior you are supposedly deriding?

The fact that this guy is not locked up but given sanctuary in Japan where his acts are fetishized and exploited for entertainment purposes is a shameful blemish on Japanese society. I feel badly for the girl's family and friends who has to live with the tragedy of what this animal has done while this guys continues to get press attention and living out his pathetic life into old age.

Seeing that right wing sees WWII and Imperial Japan with nostalgia as a glorious period in Japanese history, see Yasukuni and appendaged museum as proof, this is not that far off. Of the Axis countries, Japan had conquered most territory, even beating out Germany. Abe and the right wing sees that, not with remorse or as a dark period of Japanese history. This is a key motivator for the right wing. There is a insidious underbelly and frankly those who are protesting should all be given some sort of reward.

Let's start with admission and apology. Whining about victims not accepting apology is a pretty ridiculous complaint when the offender still has trouble admitting their wrongs and claiming they've already apologized for the very acts they claim hasn't happened all at the same time.
Posted in: A simple comparison of Japan and Germany is inappropriate. The two countries differ in terms of what happened during the war, under what circumstances they engaged in post-war settlements, and which countries they have as neighbors.
melonbarmonsterMar. 12, 2015 - 02:51AM JST
What a hilarious quote particularly the last part. Of course, Germany has apology worthy neighbors unlike Japan's neighbors who are responsible for Japan's lack of apology and reconciliation. Oh wait, but Japan already apologized! I forgot. Oh wait, but Japan didn't do those things. So Japan already apologized for those things that didn't really happen and it's Korea and China's fault. LOL.
melonbarmonsterMar. 11, 2015 - 02:16AM JST
Germany has been generous in recognizing its role in WWII atrocities and aggressions. Where is Japan's monuments, museums, holidays, laws banning denials in recognitions of its victimized neighbors and minorities living within Japan under what the UN calls "deep and profound racism"????

LOL. The contradictions are almost hilarious if the topic wasn't so sordid. It must be some sort of Japanese zen logic to claim you've already apologized for something you deny at the same time. The women were prostitutes but Japan already apologized??? Nice "apology."

Korean fans have known this for a long time. Japan has to wake and realize they're not Spain or Italy and snap out of delusion that it's some sort of sexy passing high technique team. JNT tries to string together nice looking passes that lead to no goal and get scored on a direct pass or a simple one two.

I don't understand how not 100% of Japanese don't have this guy's mindset when it comes to history. if Abe and his ilk had this mentality, all the rancor about revisionism in East Asia would be gone in a second.
