Even high schoolers writing articles on politics on highly credible journalism sites are able to work with Korea's defamation laws. It's pretty pathetic and conceited for Kato to think he can just ignore well heeded local laws. And no one is noticing that this guy is explicitly admitting that he published internet rumors!! LOL.

This was sparked by Japanese fans flying the Imperial flag design during Korean Japan matches. Call me crazy but why not just stick to national flags and not fly WWII imperial graphics to a country that you invaded and brutalized?

If Ahn was a terrorist for killing key heads of state for principled reasons what do you call men like Hirobumi who butchered civilians and royalty without batting an eye?

You can debate history but calling Ahn a terrorist is frankly stupid. He was an educated aristocrat with zero penchant for violence who assassinated a war criminal for principled reasons(gruesome murder of Korean queen, massacres of Korean civilians, etc.) which he clearly documented before the assassination and before his execution. Even his Japanese jailguards respected him and held him in high regard.

I'm sure the "new" features are fantastic for iPhone users but honestly the new iPhones looks like androidified iPhones.

How disgusting. You don't see Germans whitewashing Germany's WWII war crimes or blaming the Judenrat for the atrocities. The comments on this board are a good example of how poorly Japan has dealt with its past. No other developed nation, especially those involved with WWII, glorifies its fascist history and dabble in flying swatstikas, etc. It is all rather deeply pathetic.

Michael Chang was like 5'6 or something and he was THE most consistent player in tennis. He was a top 10 player for most of his career all while many #1 players rose and sank. It's a matter of infrastructure and investment in youth development the same as any other sport.

Yea the monkey has to work it's butt off but it gets regular food, medical care and a longer domesticated life. Not that different from humans doing basically same thing. As long as there's no animal abuse.

All the excuses. Yes we all know that Japanese people you know are nice to you and you like the food. That's doesn't change the fact that WWII nationalist, fascist sentiments are still alive and well from the black van crazies and the swatstika fliers to the right wing conservative majority who see no contradiction in claiming Japan already apologized many, many times more than enough for the very things they claim didn't happen and Japan didn't do. Japan is the ONLY democratic developed country that still glorifies its racial, nationalist ideologies from early parts of the 20th century.

It must some special Japanese magic to claim you've apologized and paid money for the very things you claim you didn't do. Military industrial sexual violence against women is not something you can sweep under the rug with technicalities. Have more decency and pride in yourself.

Choi Minshik is an amazing actor and this is a very well made movie. It's being shown in metropolitan cities in the US concurrently. Stop being butthurt.

If annexation is harbinger to claims then this is over since Japan lost the war and gave up all 'annexed' land with surrender. Also the empty island policy assumes Chosun's sovereignty over Dokdo islands which Japan didn't dispute... which is why it "claimed" Dokdo terra nullis 1905 like it "claimed" Korea in 1909. Empires don't claim lands that's already part of itself during its imperial conquests. Japan didn't "claim" Hokkaido or Osaka at the turn of the century.

Sillyness. No Japan you did not magically discover and claim islands that Koreans on Ullungdo have been staring at and fishing on for thousands of year in 1905. Let's let bygones be bygones and leave your fascist imperialist claims where they belong.

Come on let's please get over this. No Japan did not magically "discover" these islets and claim them terra nullis in 1909. Koreans have been staring at them from Ullungdo and fishing on them for thousands of years. Bigger fish to fry.

Whining about China's problems does little to mitigate the fact that Germany and Japan have taken two very different paths in dealing with their histories regarding WWII war atrocities. Japan has a lot to learn from Germany.

The notable here is not that South Korea's reaction. It's that Japan conducted trade with NK for decades and is now willing to ease sanctions going against long standing policies of US and South Korea.

No one "trades" with North Korea. People from US, South Korea can't send a letter to North Korea and Japan has been sending money, cars, bicycles and all sorts of goods to NK for years until the latest "sanction."
