Any possible good she might be doing for ecology is destroyed by just one of the seemingly endless number of flights that she takes. Wake up Norika!

Ok Tim what about Texas then? I don`t know which states have the best profit and loss balances. Any chance of them fleeing the sinking ship? Or is it constitutionally inpossible?

It will probably cost them $100 billion in lawyers, accountants and consultants fees to make the #100 billion cuts! Best to just get on with it and start thinking about how they can start making things that the world wants to buy

@kokorocloud @sharpie Suruga Ginko has a debit Visa card. The only Bank to do this I think. Got my Japanese friend to order me one and use it often :)

Why do people want multi lingual? Lean Japanese. It`s not that difficult if you have even half a brain. Plus it is fun
Pros.1. Yes @sharpie I agree.Cute tellers.2.Most of the bigger banks are a little less likely to go bust when the big economic crash hits sometime in the next few weeks
Cons. 1.Paying 2,500 yen as a service charge plus taking a big margin on the exchange rate when my friend wired me $200 from overseas is just over the top. 2.Getting a credit card as a self employed gaijin (even with permanent residence) is next to impossible
Basically the banks here are stuck in the dark ages and their systems are due for a massive shake up

Some states of America are profitable. What is stopping say California saying "We are out of here" "We are sick of propping up tens of millions of boneheads in other states who have refused to retrain themselves, take entrepeneurial risk etc".?? "We are making a new country called California"

@goddog Thanks for the tip lol. Seriously though these guys take a conscious risk when they do this. Thus they also consider the punishment. Surely a more inventive punishment would stop all this.Tie one of them up naked in front of the local train station and let folk throw rotten fruit at him for a weekend. That will do the trick

lol. Tried goya the other day for the first time as it was half price at the supermarket and produced in Hokkaido.Pretty weird isn`t it?
Guess you guys know shojin ryori? Great vegan food. Its what most Japanese ate till the Meiji era. I am a vegan not just for health reasons but for sustainability reasons too. Not strict though. If I am at a barbecue and somebody hands me a rib eye steak I will probably eat it

Guess he wasn`t quite the right choice. Will he retain his position? Nothing would surprise me. After all we have obviously bent politicians collecting their pay every week
Many more surely. Less than one in a thousand shoplifters are caught for example

Unthinkable to think that these moronic short sighted union leaders will stop these movies (and others) being made in New Zealand. Peter Jackson is not fat anymore and is a genius. Hope this all works out OK

You can see that with all the changes in media, buying companies, wives coming and going, children etc that Bob found it difficult to keep abreast of what was going on and lost nearly all the $400 mil. But oh what a life and what influence he has had

Japan needs people to be working or commenting on JT not sitting round on park benches. Agree that rubbish bins went out after the AUM sarin gas attacks

@frungy @babahooey This is indeed a very delicate balance. In Japan they tend to dive right in. Went to pick up my daughter from the kindergarten (hoikuen) one day when she was 5. The teachers and a policeman were in full flow about "stranger danger". Pretty over the top stuff and she was terrified to walk around the streets even with me after that. They had even been warning about perverts (chikans) on trains. A bit unecessary I thought but then again so much goes unreported here who knows how much really goes on. Maybe the kindergarten knows more than me

I think that we all know by now that that is all Japan is capable of and that that is not going to change in a hurry. This conversation is difficult. Lets talk about food...
