    Japan controlled its military by offering women as a form of service. South Korea, US, the allied forces did not but they did rape people with impunity. Look at vietnam where thousands of women has been raped by South Koreans and thousands of people massacred by both US and SK. There is no denying it, there are more half south koreans half vietnamese then half bred japanese as a result of rape.

    strollers on train during rush hour should be folded but then a mother carrying a child, holding a folded stroller with the baby's diaper, clothes, milk, and the moms bag all at the same time is a bit of a push. Should Japanese men be so kind to let the mother sit then the stroller can be folded as such and the mom will hold the baby on her lap but of course oyaji's will pretend to sleep and with the genki obaasan's pushing everybody out of the way just to get a seat and healthy high schools seating on priority seat... its a very selfish society.

The soldiers were Australians. The moaning and wailing had ceased and she was quiet now. The tortured tension on her face had slipped away, and the soft brown skin was smooth and unwrinkled, stained with tears like the face of a child that has cried herself to sleep.[2]:126–7

    According to John W. Dower, precisely as the Japanese government had hoped when it created the prostitution facilities, while the R.A.A. was in place "the incidence of rape remained relatively low given the huge size of the occupation force".[8]:130 However, there was a resulting large rise in venereal diseases, where for example in one army unit 70% tested positive for syphilis and 50% for gonorrhea, which led the US army to close down the prostitution.[8]:130

    The incidence of rape increased after the closure of the brothels, possibly eight-fold; Dower states that "According to one calculation the number of rapes and assaults on Japanese women amounted to around 40 daily while the R.A.A was in operation, and then rose to an average of 330 a day after it was terminated in early 1946."[8]:579

    According to Terèse Svoboda "the number of reported rapes soared" after the closure of the brothels, and she takes this as evidence that the Japanese had been successful in suppressing incidents of rape by providing prostitutes to the soldiers.[10] Svoboda gives one example where R.A.A. facilities were active but some not yet ready to open and "hundreds of American soldiers broke into two of their facilities and raped all the women".[10] According to Svoboda there are two large events of mass rape recorded by Yuki Tanaka at the time that the R.A.A. brothels were closed down in 1946.[10]

    According to Tanaka, close to midnight on April 4, an estimated 50 GIs arriving in 3 trucks assaulted the Nakamura Hospital in Omori district.[11] Attacking at the blow of a whistle, over the period of one hour they raped more than 40 patients and an estimated 37 female staff.[12] One of the raped women had a two-day old baby that was killed by being thrown on the floor, and also some male patients who tried to protect the women were killed.[13]

    According to Tanaka, on April 11, between 30 and 60 US soldiers cut phone lines to a housing block in Nagoya city, and simultaneously raped "many girls and women between the ages of 10 and 55 years."[14]

    Michael S. Molasky, Japanese literature, language and jazz researcher, states in his study of Japanese post-war novels and other pulp literature, that while rape and other violent crime was widespread in naval ports like Yokosuka and Yokohama during the first few weeks of occupation, according to Japanese police reports, the number of incidents declined shortly after and were not common on mainland Japan throughout the rest of occupation.

    should America lost the war, they will be forevered as the worst murderer in the world so there is no morality of US troops either during WWII. Their willingness to obliterate hundreds of thousands of unarmed civilians, women, children, babies, unborn children not once but twice just to display their power is nothing short of the devil himself. Quit yapping with your righteousness hypocrites. US is not better when it comes to war. Japan just happened to lost the war. History is written by the victor.

    5 days of no food and water....but then the Japanese military had asked them to surrender peacefully but the US forces with their slaves Filipinos decided to fight to the death and inflicted heavy casualties on the Japanese army. When they ran out of ammo, they decided to surrender. In return, the Japanese army decided to have their revenge by having them march for 5 days without food and water.

    This is war. And its a good thing they were not massacred.

    China is pushing the envelope...they need to back down and stop escalating the problem but then a bully can't be made tame by words anyway. The best way to bet a bully is pushing back and standing your ground. China is having problem with increasing unemployment, spiraling inflation, domestic issues, inequality, severe corruption, unrest from occupied territories, and of course food issues like rat meat, floating pigs, double dead meat and they need to divert the attention of its people. They are waiting for an incident to happen.

    i live in tokyo and i see parents letting their 4 or 5 year old cycle on the road and that without helmets. The koban is just on the corner and had never seen a police reprimand these kids nor the parents. Accident waiting to happen. I say irreponsible parenting.

    bambi is being hunted and then made into food. Japan has a strict rule on this. If you hunt, you eat. And there are too much of these pest anyway. Japan should reintorduce wolves in the wild.

    Wait a minute, Manchuria was divided by France, Russia, Portugal, Britain, Germany and to some extent Japan. So Can the European countries claim China too? BUt wait, lets go back, the whole Europe and Asia Minor was conquered by Alexander the Great, can the Greece demand ownership of the whole Europe? I forgot, Persians ( Iran ) and Babylon (Iraq) almost ruled the whole Middle East and Europe too, can they also stake their claim? Now this is getting difficult because Roman Empire ruled the whole of Europe too, can Italy stake also that claim?

    openminded...global warming does happen, its a cycle. Did you know that almost the whole US continent was covered with ice and then it receded giving us the present US today? California was under snow for many thousand years until the ice started melting. The earth has been warming for the last thousand years and still is, but we humans like to amplify our existence. Truth is we can't do nothing about it.

    Why do you think US don't believe global warming? Its because they have the most accurate records of the earth temperature for the last century and it proved there is no global warming at all.
