Generally, Japanese don't attack gaijins unless provoked so there must be more than the reported story. They wrote on their website that their frontman was attacked but no reason or motive was written so I will be waiting for more details.

the bride looks so...RETRO. Her hair looks like a pineapple, her dress looks like it was done in the 1960 and yes it looks ugly. And the funny thing is that she is trying to be a very modern trend setter. Well, the guy dated a lot of women, had fathered a child, he has outstanding 2M dollars debt or even more and they got the nerve to spend 6M dollars for the wedding. Don't you just love celebrity life.

thefts occurred in the business class where passangers are deemed to be richer and with more cash. Of course not to mention that the passengers are more relaxed. If a passenger come checking the overhead compartment some people might take notice but if a flight attendant comes over, she doesn't arouse much suspiscion because its her job to check these items if they are properly stowed...Whats next? A terrorist stewardess?

I don't know about old ladies in this country, they seem to be above the law in every aspect, be it driving, shopping, commuting, name it and you will see them disregarding every rule, yet possesing more strength and stamina then a high school student. A looney granny on the loose. The other day a kid was stabbed by his grandmother because of an altercation...GRANNY POWER KOWAIIII

Well, he is a defender. He never scored for the last 57 games of his life and Coach Okada made him do a PK. PK are like lotteries, they never decide who is stronger, only who is luckier. Why not try coin toss?

After all the brouhaha, the DPJ has more budget deficit than the LDP because they decided that the children of foreigners working in Japan particularly Chinese and Koreans must be supported by Japan...and yes, these clowns are pushing for voting rights for them too. Why should the fate of a nation be decided by people who don't want to be Japanese?

My friend is a doctor who worked for a hospital in Japan. She has to work as a seishain, receiving about 230,000Y a month. She has been there for 6 years, working early, leaving late, toiling like a slave. Then, her contract was not renewed for this year because they have to raise her salary as mandated by law and needs to have more benefits so they decided to get a newly graudated doctor to fill her place. And because the replacement is a newcomer, he is not entitled to a higher salary and benefit. Is Japan moving in the right direction? In a world of capitalism, everyone is disposable. Its all for the money and sometimes, some people just snap and start killing people. Of course, in the place where my friend works, they have full time doctors who don't know how to diagnose, spend their time doing nothing, or spend thier time engaging in various speaking engagements and leave the work for the newcomers or seishain. So resentment is on the rise on the working place and the gov't won't lift a hand.

If they want to vote, they need to be citizens. Being a citizen is easy, its just that people don't want to relinquish their identity tied to their mother country. You can't have your cake and eat it at the same time.

Its called grandstanding, calling attention to oneself based on perceived facts or flimsy evidence. I think Toyota will manage this problem and emerge as a better company.

The tuna ban failed because US and some European countries came to the meeting without giving any alternative for those people whose lives depends on catching blue fin tuna. If you like people to stop then give them something else, or you are just telling them to commit suicide by ruining their source of income while the US and some European countries in particular are free to catch blue fin tuna. Tell a fisherman that he is no longer allowed to catch a fish then you will naturally understand their position. Japan came and said, we will continue buying your blue fin tuna and we will give you money for research and teach you means on how to conserve the blue fin tuna while the US came and said, if you don't stop catching blue fin (but of course the US can still catch blue fin because they are not part of the ban) you will have no more blue fin to catch in the future...and people are scratching their head why they failed miserably in enforcing the ban.

What shocked me was that after one of mt friend got married with a Japanese, she got pregnant and bore a child, after two weeks her husband and in-laws are already expecting her to clean the house, wash the dishes, go to the market and serve her in-laws just like before. And she has a child to take care of, her stomach still painful from the labor and she got so stressed that she is wishing she is dead. I don't know about this woman. She is suffering from depression and the news is not clear what are the circumstances for her mental problems. Blaming her as just plain scumbag is totally callous at this point.

Japan don't normally give support to athletes and they give very little if they win anything. The women's speed skating, who do you think paid for their training? Its their company. Their boss knowing their potential decided to slash his salary and their company workers all did the same to be able to raise 20 Million yen so that they can borrow an ice skating rink, practice and train. And they won the silver. Where is the government in this?
Most athletes in Japan don't get any support from the government. These athletes have to raise their own funds by looking for a willing sponsor or pay it by themselves.

Kim Yuna deserves the olympic gold, that is not being questioned. What is being questioned is that she got a very very high score setting a new world record, when in fact Ms. Kim Yuna did a safe, conservative, routine stuff.
In my opinion, whereas Kim Yuna deserves the gold, she does not deserve to receive such a very generous points considering that what she did was never extraordinary nor remarkable. Her routine was smooth, flawless, very artistic and well executed thus she earns it. But to be awarded such high score after performing normal routine kills the sports. This is not a dance contest, it is a sport wherein contestants challenge themselves to do things that have not yet done or go beyond the human limit. If a person be awarded a near perfect score for doing a routine figure ice skating then better remove this sports from the olympics and start a figure skating dance contest.
And please no sympathy votes. USA deserves the bronze and Miki Ando is much better than the Canadian in my opinion.

hmm, while I think Yuna was great on the ice today, I don't think it was a world record breaker performance. She never did anything extraordinary nor extremely difficult moves, just plain routines and was quite ordinary. Getting such unbelievable high score makes it questionable since the head of the International Olympic Comittee on Ice Skating is a Korean, and 2 judges were also Korean (the other was a Korean born in Canada and passed as a Canadian judge as not to arouse much suspicion) and the Japanese judge was removed among the judges...four judges were European and another judge is from Australia.
Yuna did won but her lopsided victory makes things so suspicious.

here comes the japan bashers again. Have you ever heard a vuvuzela constantly drowning every possible communication among players and coaches not to mention TV commentaries as well? Its not only Japan complaining http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/8154886.stm

again only in Japan you won't see any kindness considering how much it taxes its own people. You need to pay the hoken which is compulsary for most (20,000Y per month), need to pay the nenkin (30,000Y per month or else), you need to pay the ward tax which can amount to 100,000Y or else the city ward will come to your home and remove anything of value and sell it to auction. Believe me they will even take your garbage can. If you try to go to the welfare section, they will give you all the list to make you not qaulified or worse sends you to different departments until you literay die. Life for the locals who loses their jobs means death. Unless you are a Yakuza who can terrorize the useless gov't officials in giving you welfare, well committing suicide is the best option on the table mate or watch your family die in hunger slowly or try to live on the streets, beg and die. Life in Japan is not a bed of roses.

I think that should be the attitude of people. Hatoyama doesn't like it, he hates it but he is not going to tell other people to stop eating it because he has no right to do so. In effect, he is actually trying to tell the world that hey, the prime minister in Japan also don't eat whale meat as other countries but he wants people to respect the rights of some people, albeit minority, to eat the food they like to eat as long as it is in the bounds of international law.
