old people wants to go to prison nowadays because they have free nursing care, free board and lodging, can earn money while doing forced labors, able to meet new friends and except for limited movement they don't have to worry about basic necessities, no taxes, and best, they are not lonely. The gov't has long neglected the care for its people. Charity begins at home as the adage says but in Japan, the gov't is willing to give Billions of DOllars to support the UN rather than doing something for its country.

harharhar, yup, I remember that paperclip and the stu*** dog coming out and which irritates everybody. Mac does not crash? duh. I had Mac G3, then G4, iMac, Icube, Macbook and even the early laptop 1993 ed and I say XP and Vista are more user friendly, it is easier to learn for most individual, and work with almost all available softwares. If you want to look at computers go for Mac, they make good and cool designs. Linux/Ubuntu? I keep on telling myself to learn the OS but I never find it easy (I am not a geek). A new OS not as annoying as Vista and less hardware requirements is a welcome. The faster Microsoft phase-out vista, the better.

vista is actually cool, I used to hate it but once you get past the learning curve its actually better than xp except for the need for quite steep hardware requirements. A new OS? hmm actually, its just a repackaged vista less the annoying properties...can't wait for it.

Do I care what will happen in the next 100 or 1,000 years when I am busy trying to find something to keep me alive? And besides, the other day, they said it won't rain the whole day so I took out my laundry and had a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Today, the news said that the possibility of rain is zero percent...we just had a brief rainshower. If the computers they are using can't even predict the the chances of rain in a day, how come they can predict the climate in the next 1,000 years? I say, this climate change is all BS

hit and run gets a lesser sentence in Japan compared to drunk driving resulting to accident or death. And of course, Osaka is known for hit and run...its the most notorious place for hit and run in Japan actually followed by either Kanagawa or Saitama. Anyway, the morning said that they plan to charge the driver if found with voluntary manslaugther as record shows that the car is travelling at a speed of less than 40 kph so the guy may have lived if the driver just stopped and called an ambulance.

a drunk driver will never stop if they hit someone in Japan as the sentence is quite severe so they would rather run and then surrender when they are sober so that they will get a lighter sentence or even suspended sentence and quite a minimal fee. Also, they will pay less when the other party is dead as the victim will get insurance payment in contrast to medical bills and other expenses. Drunk driving plus accident maybe equal to 15 years plus hundreds of millions of yen...hit and run...maybe 3 years suspended sentence.

hmmm, they were not caught in the airport customs I think. Reading the news, they went to an island and when they returned, they brought some lizards with them. Were they exporting? its not clear as they are not yet going out the country. I don't see any problem yet. You can't put a person to jail by mere speculation. They were caught with a lizard, yes...exporting not yet
