What a waste of tax payer money and police resources...

If the guy was offended, why not just delete or lock-out those people making the posts... End of story...

Now, even people like me, who have no interest what-so-ever in this comedian guy, would love to post something defamatory... Just because....

Come and get my SOFA ass JN police and charge me with defamation, they'll laugh you out the door...

China and Korea are just as bad for lack of manners and there are plenty of Chinese and Koreans

While I agree, most young people, as well as some of the lesser educated populous, could certainly use some instruction in basic manners 101, there could be more, but these are the ones that come to mind immediately:

    1) Always cover your mouth when you cough

    2) Never stare

    3) Use "excuse me" whenever you need to get by someone in a crowed area, don't just push your way through

But if you've never visited China, spend 10 mins at Beijing station and you'll know exactly what "rude" feels like... Ha Ha Ha...

students these days lack common sense

It's a start, now they just have to include 95% of the Japanese adult population and they can begin to work toward finding a solution...

You can't begin recovery, until you first admit you have a problem, and Japan has a huge lack of "Common Sense" problem...

    ¨Americans had it coming¨.

The second time he was elected, there were some serious "shenanigans" going in Ohio, where sadly enough it came down to one state, where Bush's buddy's company made the Electronic voting machines.... Coincidence....?

They are still investigating, and some people have been sent to jail over elections fraud...

No, I'd say 30 - 40% of American's had it coming, I never voted for that idiot, and matter of fact more people voted against bush, the 2nd time, than in any presidential election in U.S. history....

U.S. elections have never been decided by a majority vote, there 50 individual, winner-take-all elections, and districts and electronic voting machines can easily be manipulated.... as we've seen in Ohio... God help us if we get another bush or cheney...

They sure the hell do, maybe not all of them, but they have "their" neighborhoods... They don't just pick any old spot or area and decide they're going live there... They do as much business from their home (offices) as they do driving around collecting protection money...

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to know what kinds of places these low-life scumbags live and work, and Ayase sure isn't one of them.

If you've been around Japan a little, you should know, that the locals know "where" these areas area.... Just as sure as they know that "Yoshiwara" is the Yakuza run red-light district, people in Kanagawa also know that Yamato is famous for housing lots of Yakuza...

Have you ever even walked around some of these areas...?

It doesn't take much common sense to know what kinds of homes these people have...

So, some of them are capable to open up a can of Whip A@#! Never underestimate your opponent.

Definitely, never underestimate your opponent, but there's also a saying:

know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles

And my experience has taught me:

If you are going to slay monsters, be careful not to become one in the process.

    But it's so damn FUN!

    Absolutely the Worst!

Hope him, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the rest their cronies are ready for their next trip after they leave the white house.... Right into the Intl Court in the Hague, for their War Crimes Tribunal!

What a bunch of Chick hawk Criminals.... They wouldn't serve in Vietnam, but have no problem sending other peoples kids to war over a lie and oil money.... The almighty is watching, and that's one person they can't avoid...

Unexploded U.S. Military shell causes great injuries, extensive unjustified damages, Okinawan's outraged by this latest incident of the Great Satan! Police to investigate possible professional negligence of U.S. Base

Just trying to think of the headline if it was somehow an unexploded shell from the U.S. dating back from WW2...

    I think I'm pretty close....

Did any of you guys actually see this video...?

You guys are making a lot of assumptions...

But just look at the guys name, "Yu Saiki," and he's a 28 yr old president of a company.... He's a yakuza scum bag... Although, I know that area fairly well, I don't remember too many Yakuza hang-out places... Unless the incident actually happened in Yamato, in which case, there's tons of them...

And they referenced his rank as a pfc, which more than likely means he wasn't a squid. There are still some marines stationed in Atsugi, I imagine not many pfc's though... He probably worked at comfairwestpac, (or what-ever the new politically correct name is now...?) marines have a bunch of odd staff positions scattered at various bases regardless of which service, even Yokota.

So the police will throw all their resources to protect some athlete...?

Not a politician, or member of the Justice dept or something like an elected official, but a private citizen...

In most 'civilized' countries private citizens are required to obtain their own body guards, ect.... Sure if something happens, the police will investigate, but they're not going to stand guard over them...

Just can't understand this country.... They let the mayor of Nagasaki get gunned down in cold blood... That guy must have received thousands of credible threats, even signed by Yakuza thugs...

And they didn't lift a finger to do anything special for that guy... And he was a public official...

I checked the JT page this morning and thought great no murders or senseless violence today... Guess I thought too quick.... Damn optimism.

Dude it's a remodeled air gun... I.E... BB gun... They conveniently leave out details of the injuries.... They were probably released from the hospital already...

More of the same old story about some Japanese guy that felt neglected by his mother so he has to go out and beat up some woman, old man or child...

I tell ya... These guys have got balls the size Bowling balls and mouths louder than a chihuahua, until they realize it's after 8pm, it's dark out and there's no one around to help them...

    Then they conveniently cower down....

    This is getting ridiculous...

Did he put the camera up under her dress...?

There's no law against taking someone's photo.

You can step onto a train and snap pictures all day, unless your sticking the camera under someone's skirt or into some woman's bra...

Is it against the law in Japan to take someone's photo without their permission...?

    Anyone..?

I'm also glad that the Private did the right thing by not retaliating to >the attack from his host nation's national.

If he was drinking, the best thing he could have done, would be just to ignore the guy and walk away... Good old-fashion common sense... But considering he was a Marine, it doesn't really surprise me that he didn't just walk away...

Now, I've been in this area long enough to know that there are plenty of military trouble makers once they get a few drinks in them...

But I also know that Kanagawa is famous for hating Military of all types... whether you did anything at all, you get the racist treatment if they suspect you are military...

Anyone who's lived in Japan, especially Kanagawa for a bit of time can contest to that fact...

But if I was wondering down a street, sober as always and some 2-bit yakuza wanna-be started, I would first all make sure I wasn't under the watchful eye of Mr.Security Camera, and then it would be over...

But most, 99.999% of these guys will not do anything, if it's (A) Dark and (B) on a desolate road where no one will help them... Even Yakuza thugs, don't start anything unless they have plenty of help, or unless they suspect you are 3-sheets to the wind... Period... You can take that to the bank!

wow... You almost never read any thing like this... Well hope mr. Yu Saiki, (28) from Ayase city watches his back... It won't go unanswered...

I'm trying to get an idea where this might have happened... And security camera's... That's awful quick to get camera footage and arrest the guy..

Usually these things can take months to figure out even if you have in on camera, unless it happened right outside the base, where it was caught by base security cameras...

    Anyone know any details..?

Japanese really think light or sound device deter from committing crimes. >This is really stupid. Real bad guys don't care about it. Japanes are very >naive about crimes.

No.... It's happens just like the movies.... Once they throw a couple karate kicks or grab the guy by the collar... It's all over.... You need to start watching some real Japanese TV Police Drama's...

It just doesn't get any more realistic than that...

    Ha....

after a police officer fired a warning shot, police said Wednesday

Unbelievable this knucklehead firing a gun in such a densely populated area... This is beyond stupid!!!

It's one thing if they are going to fire a Taser gun at the guy, or shoot him with a bean-bag from a shot gun, but incredibly stupid to fire a hand gun....

Almost no country in the world still fires warning shots, except maybe in Iraq or some of the third world countries...

I'm still trying to imagine where he aimed the gun and fired... There's almost no where you can shoot without not hitting something...

You see most hand gun caliber ammo, doesn't stop after it hits something, for example, if you shot a hand gun in an apartment, most likely (unless you have concrete walls) the projectile will penetrate the first wall, go into the next apartment, go through that wall, and probably a third wall before expending all of its velocity.

I am surprised no one was hurt or killed as a result of this knucklehead... Stupid, Stupid, Stupid...!!!

And JN police have those extra-large handling poles.... If they really want to be non-lethal, Why in the Frick did they not use something like that... Or pepper-spray...?

I wouldn't think to leave a kid alone in a car in a parking lot full of strangers, alone in the house for 10 minutes, etc

Absolutely Right! I don't know what these parents are thinking... It's so tragic, every other week, sometimes every week, you read about some innocent toddler, falling from a building, getting hit by a car or train, or something else, because of not being supervised.

I think Japan has enough experience building airframes to produce its own fighters but Japan has chosen not to because it would be a threat. Buy American weapons and sell them cars, lets get some trade going.

It sure isn't because Japan doesn't want to develop their own fighters, they'd love nothing more than to cut all tech ties with the U.S. is that regard, it's because they're just not there in terms of capability, infrastructure, engineering and R and D....

These aren't cars, they can't just bim ban boom and they've got a production live rolling, this stuff takes years and years to engineer, test and develop. Don't forget the U.S. has been pouring billions and billions of dollars down that R and D pipe for years and years. What they have now, is basically what they've acquired through licenses, which is why they were ecstatic about Boeing signing that "Jim Dandy" of a deal with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to build the wing structures for the 787....

They get years and years of advanced technology for a song... All they have to do is buy a few 787's and the Technology's theirs (Not really but are you going to tell me they're not going to use it... Get Real!)

“Judges are busy people, and in the process of conducting lots of interviews, if they ask a person, ‘What’s your occupation?’ and he replies ‘Yakuza,’"

Is this a joke...? Or is this country run by a bunch of 12 years olds...?

There's got to be something missing in the translation here... I can't believe Japanese people are so void of common sense and critical thinking....

This is the reasoning of a 12 year old boy....
