Just out of curiosity...
Did they even use any kind of DNA or fiber analysis to actually connect this guy to the crime.... Or is it all based on a confession from some unemployed newspaper delivery guy that can't even speak Japanese....?
I haven't seen any reports of people convicted in Japan where actual scientific methods were used to establish a concrete connection between the suspect and the crime.... And we know DNA is never going to be 100% absolute, but a 99.999998% match is 10,000% better than strictly relying on these round-the-clock confessions....

That's kidnapping....
I am in no way in favor of these green peace idiots, but you can't just take people against their will, half-way across the globe and turn them over to JN authorities...
Doesn't work that way....
If they do this, they are the same as North Korea....
Legally they may take any means necessary to deter or defend themselves, but they can't take somebody, against their will, thousands of miles away on the basis of defending their activities.....

What a waste.....
Oh... Ok, let's crack down on those bicycle riders...
We all know they're the root of all evil...
Mean-while you've got these bozo's with the 1500cc moped's blowing through red lights, running people off the road... and recklessly riding these 1000 lbs motor vehicle's capable of killing someone....
I'd like to see the statistics of actual injuries caused by bicycle riders and then compare that with other forms of transportation like walking, driving, riding the train and riding the elevator for that matter....
This looks like one of those ridiculous fictitious research studies... Like the "Crimes Committed by Foreigners"... Where they count every person the police ever talked to, as a crime committed statistic....

That would depend if you leave the scene of the accident or stay...
I know of a case first hand in which an old lady (70+), walked out into traffic and was hit by a car, she died (driven by a SOFA military person) and there was NO arrest, the person wasn't even detained.... 15 minutes of questioning and a statement... That was it... No charges... Nothing...
It was in broad daylight and there were witnesses, and of course the driver wasn't drinking....
Now I can't say the same thing would happened to non-military, probably not...

Again.... What a country....
So what's the crime here...?
Was he going the wrong way on a one street, driving on the wrong side of the road, drunk, under the influence of drugs, speeding, driving recklessly..? What...
Or was it just an accident, as if somebody walks out into the street in front of an on-coming car....
It appears that he was just driving normally and lawfully, and this "Caregiver" wasn't doing her job and watching this 19 month old properly...
If you're going to assign fault, at least give it to the right person, so that it might actually prevent a future re-occurrence of a similar accident...

WTF....?
What a real piece a work... I wish I could find this guy, I would really enjoy cutting a few of his digits off...
Another fine upstanding JN citizen... With the mind of a 12 year old...
Bet he gets a suspended sentence, because, "He was under so much stress and it was only natural to assume that he would have committed such an act."

Please let me know what you are smoking, I didn't think you could get crack in Japan...?
You need to read some material that was printed anywhere else in the world, except Japan... Which by they way, most school children, if you ask them on the street today, what happened first, Pearl Harbor or Hiroshima probably wouldn't know....
Japan indeed has much to be thankful for, what the Allies did, but more importantly what they didn't do...
For all their years of aggression, war, pillage and rape, Japan should have expected nothing less than 50 years of brutal slavery and punishment, instead they were given democracy, women's rights, free speech and the beginnings of a thriving economy....
Yes, indeed Japan has much to be thankful for...

Just wonder how many more missing little girls and boys are out there in this country, when they can afford to waste so many police resources toward cracking down on stupid and idiotic things like bicycle registration and a plethora of other totally ridiculous activities....

I think the big problem here in Japan seems to be this Idea that it's OK to strike a child, infant, toddler anywhere on the head, face, body...etc... and at any age...
Common sense dictates that you don't hit young kids under 3 or 4 PERIOD... But if you really need to, you spank them on the fatty part of their ass with your open hand... NEVER KICK or PUNCH.... (What a real piece of work this loser...)
JN parents, esp the males, commonly hit and smack their their kids on the head & face... It's ridiculous ... There's this believe that the superior father figure has a right and duty to hit their kids on the head for discipline...
Next time I witness one of these scum bags laying a finger on a kid, you're going to read about in the evening news....

Released to his parents....? He's 26 years old...
Obviously this isn't the u.s.... or literally any other country in the world... When you strike a police officer, you better be prepared to get the crap kicked out of you.... He would still be recovering in a hospital, had it been any where else in the world...

Would be curious to know how this will pan-out considering Japan's strict laws covering weapons... According to the Laws in Japan which governs, these types of "nonlethal neutralizing agents," they are not allowed to be carried outside of one's residence, except by law enforcement personnel... Period...
Unless they have some new provision when it comes to rail services...
I know our JN security guards had to download firearm & asp if they wanted to step one foot outside of the installation, even in the performance of their job...
In Japan, Pepper spray is in the same category as an expandable baton (asp).... Laws are very strict...

Ok... Well we're at it... why don't we arrest all people that accidentally bump into you in a crowded train station..? And how about the people wearing ipod's typing keitai mails while they're walking...? They could accidentally bump into an elderly person and cause them to fall down... (I've seen this... just watch people running to catch a morning train or get to their office....)
You see... this is where civilized countries draw the line..
It's called common sense...
The idea behind many laws is to either encourage or discourage a certain type of behavior...
Let's just have everyone just go out and buy a car and drive to work.. Then this lady would never have been hit by the guy on the bike.... Ridiculous....

It's called an accident....
These things happen everyday in every country of the world, it's just that this web site chooses to put stuff like this on the 'front page.'
Is this guy an idiot and a real A-hole for bailing... Definitely....! But was this a planned & premeditated act to hurt this woman... I think NOT...
It doesn't matter if he was drinking or not... He wasn't behind the wheel of a motor vehicle...
It's a very slippery slope when you start classifying all accidents as criminal acts... Which this country and it's seasoned 12 year old mentality leaders like to do...
This country is getting to the point where not having a bicycle registration is treated the same as 'Murder One' under the California penal code.... Ridiculous....!
