Should U.S. President Barack Obama visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki when he comes to Japan in November?
Absolutely Not Needed...
And even if he just goes there to grab a hamburger, the JN media and Gov't would love to paint it as some form of acknowledgement...
Here we go again... Jn's feeling sorry for themselves and trying once again to equate Japan as the Victim of WW2...
It seems their memory is so short lived....
Not even going into all the arguments about school kids and old lady's being trained to fight to the last person to defend the homeland, or that Okinawans were literally forced over cliffs to prevent them from surrendering, or that weeks leading up the actual bombings, the U.S. dropped leaflets explicitly tell people to flee these areas where the A-bombs had a possibility of being used... You see Japan, you have more problems with your own White-Washing of history...
Time to stop feeling sorry for yourself and start dealing with your own REAL problems, and here's a hint, 99.99999% of them don't involve foreigners...

This is exactly why these J-Clown-Cops have no business even carrying firearms... They aren't REAL cops and they certainly aren't trained for REAL police work.
Just give them rubber hose and a whistle, if they get stolen, it's no big deal and those of you that think, there's virtually no situation where they should use a firearm, will indeed have nothing to worry about!

I think it's time Japan starts acting like a grown-up member of the International community.
They sure want all the benefits of International trade, but none of the responsibilities that go along with that role..
Time to grow up Japan!

Too many!
I'm sure this took priority over some Yakuza gun-smuggling or extortion cases...
"Sorry to tell you, we've had some more important criminal cases come up... No, not the usual bicycle parking ticket stuff, but kids streaking through a train station... You're off the hook now, be free Mr.Yamaguchi and your underworld syndicate crime family friends and remember to make those police protection money pay-offs on time, next time...!"

Oh, no they didn't.... I just saw those clowns the other day, working there way down a row of bicycles... And as for just sitting at their desk inside a Koban, I haven't actually seen any cops in any Kobans in a while... That would be a definitely an improvement, if they were actually at the place they were suppose to be... I've seen people sitting at the Koban's desk, just waiting for these clowns to come back, from whatever more important duties they have, like ticketing cyclist.

That's the best plan any Japanese PM has had in a long, long time... And the U.S. should step back and let SK and Japan take lead, not too mention, Japan probably has more clout when it comes to dealing with China...(Thanks to the last 2 or 3 administrations for racking up $3 trillion in debts to China...)
It's an Asian problem more than anything, Japan and the other Asian Nations most at risk need to step up to the plate, just like they are doing now... BZ for to Hatoyama and Myung-bak!
See these are the kinds of problems you need to focus on Japan, Not 101 different ways to enforce bicycle parking with the clown cops or how to blame all your problems on "legal" foreigner residents...

It starts with parents... 6 year olds are NOT old enough to supervise themselves, they need near-constant supervision when they are not in an safe area... That's why it's considered "Child Endangerment" to leave kids unsupervised, even in your own home. You can't go to work, to play pachinko, or hang out with your friends and leave children, unattended...
And if your house happens to be located next to a set of train tracks, that means, you need to clearly delineate, where little kenji-kun and aya-chan can play, and if that means, you need to load them up in a car and drive them to a park, with no train tracks running through there, then that's what needs to happen... Or these kids need to play in the house or find other SAFE ways to spend their time...
Yes it is 100% common-sense, but it's NOT common in Japan, it's more like RARE-SENSE... I guess they just don't teach these kinds of things in Japan...
I don't give a damn about the parents, it's too bad for the kids, that they are stuck with idiots for parents, and it ultimately may cost them their lives....

At least someone didn't get fatally stabbed or seriously hurt as a result...
I guess they don't have any such "Humane Society" in Japan, where their sole job is to take care of these kinds of things...?
Oh, well, at least no one got killed as a result... If this is was the worst form of incompetence the J-Clown-Cops ever showed, Japan would be a Utopia.
I'd rather read about 100,000 more incidents like this, than one more, where a J-Cop failed to take proper action and 4 more innocent people get stabbed, because the J-Cop failed to use lethal force, when it was required. As we've seen a couple years ago...

No, that was the Bush Administration....
The U.S. gives out more economic aid than almost all other nations, combined, not even including donations from individual charities...
If you haven't already noticed 99.9% of the losers that post to this site, (including yourself) are anti-american... They don't know how or why... but they have been indoctrinated to hate American, because they have nothing better to do.... probably greater 50% of Japanese population has never had any contact with actual americans, yet, they have been taught to by their elders to hate ALL foreigners...
If you've lived in Japan for any period of time and ventured outside your home, you would know this to be the case...
If you want to talk about how terrible and illegal of a war the Iraq invasion was, YES you are correct, That was George dubya... But America isn't George Dubya...

Gee... It's amazing, all you read for the last two weeks was how Hatoyama was making a big push to get Japan to host the Olympics...
Now... You don't see one word about Japan, but Obama makes the front page... ha ha ha....

He should have been more creative about it...
Sent her a fabricated letter saying she had just one a free trip to the U.S. (even Guam OR Saipan) air-fair and hotel accommodations, then as soon as she took that trip and stepped foot in the U.S. He could have had U.S. Marshall's waiting for her...Japanese have thousands of Sneaky ways of doing things... He should borrowed one of their ways... He's shown exactly "How Not" to get your kids back...

Every week, if not every-other day you read about some 1,2,3 or 5 year old being backed over with a car, caught in an elevator, or locked inside a car while mom - dad plays Pachinko.... And I'm not even going to mention how many times you read about "Kenji" the live-in boyfriend who likes to punch 2 year olds in the head or burn them with cigarettes!
If you have a toddler you better damn-well child-proof your home, or get one of those child restraint leashes, Hold their hand when they cross the street, never ever, just jump into your car and back out of the driveway without knowing where "They" are!
Common-Sense!

It's time for Japan to join the international community and let foreign investor have a lager than 1 % stake in their domestic companies, just like all the other industrialized nations. Japan wants to bar any foreign control of its domestic companies, no matter what... But they're OK buying out other countries companies... Biggest hypocrites on the planet... You need to make a decision here Japan, either you play fair by the international rules OR you close up all your borders, expel all foreigners and go back to your feudal system, one or the other, but NOT both...

There could have been 20 "Japanese made," bus fires, but they will only report the ones that are foreign made.... It has everything to do with this "Superiority" complex, and simple economics plays an equally heavy part these days.
They want these stories to sound to the average person, like there were no other, "Insert Incident ->" (bus fire, elevator accident, train derailment...) that ever occurred, that can be linked to anyone other than a foreign manufacturer.

Yea, but I'll bet they reimbursed him for the piano, at cost plus...
At least the Austrian Cops tried to do something!
I had never lost anything in 20 years in Japan, and the first time I forgot something, immediately remembering about my backpack, within 30 seconds after I de-boarded the train, I told the station staff, which happened to be a bunch of 20-something girls (working the station) they fiddled around for what seemed like 10 minutes trying to figure out what they should do.... Anyway, my bag, probably with $10,000 usd (had just returned from a business trip) worth of stuff, PC, Iphone, passport, cash, all my bank and credit cards.. etc... never turned up... 9 months now...
The JN cops didn't lift a finger... "Here fill this out and will call you if somebody turns it in...."
Worthless pieces of crap....
It could have been a million dollars in Negotiable bearer bonds and they still never would have even looked at the video footage to see who might have walked off the train with that bag...
Now I'm sure if my name was Nakasone or if I was a member of the diet and I left my brief case on that car, they would have halted the trains to retrieve that bag....
Bottom line, if you forget something of no-value, it will be waiting for you 6 months later at the last station on that line, but if it's worth anything more than 10,000 yen, forget about it... You'll never see it again... Yes, Here in Japan...

What kind of mother goes out for the night, 2 months after giving birth...?
I don't know any mothers that would leave a 2 month old (Infant) alone more than 30 minutes.... Not even a 2 year old....
Japan needs to cut back on their worthless J-Clown-Cops and use that money for educating parents about their responsibilities, mothers what they must do, fathers what they can't ever do, like hit kids, and the rest of the money, what's ever left over on "Common-Sense" Awareness Campaigns... You don't dare someone holding a baseball-bat to hit you, or walk behind a group of drunk construction workers at 3am in the morning, if you are a pencil-necked geek, you need to hold your 2 year old by the hand when you cross the street... etc...etc... etc.... And don't hire cops that have a criminal records or haven't had a psyche eval....!

Yes, That's true, but this story leaves out those details which would constitute that part of the statute / law... The bar tender cannot continue to serve an "obviously" intoxicated person, but if the person seems as though they are fully competent / in control of their facilities, then the owner / bar-tender has no legal responsibility.
Example, they say an average person can consume 1, 8 or 12 oz glass or beer per hour and the body will digest at about the same rate, so the effect on the body is negligible... The person will basically remain sober... Once you exceed that limit, it's a different story...
Now if this bar tender personally served her 10 glasses of wine in 2 hours, or some ridiculously high amount of drinks, then of course he / or more appropriately, the bar (owner) is responsible.
I don't even drink and I hate drunks, but come on now, let's use some common sense... what's next, the convenience store clerk who sells the case of beer, knowing that person will later take the beer home and they might possibly go driving after that...? Personal Responsibility...
One more example of a nation of 7 year old's, hard at work proving that point.... over and over and over again...

I think anybody in the states, except maybe a three year old, would have said, "go ahead call the cops."
You certainly can't blame the girls here, but add this college punk into the equation, and it's just more proof of a country in total lack of common-sense...
From 105 lbs socking wet geeks, who choose to walk right behind a group of drunken construct workers at 3am in the morning, to people challenging other people with baseball bats to hit them.... (Yes... these did happen... one died and the other will probably have permanent brain damage)
I'm not even sure if this would be considered a crime in most "Civilized" western countries... Probably not blackmail, because there are certain statues which must be met, probably harassment or something along the lines as a menace.
