Most of the terrorist attacks foiled were probably in Iraq or Afghanistan. How many more succeeded?…

Just goes to show that people really don't understand the incompetence that went behind the whole Fukushima fiasco. Hopefully the Turkish government will operate the plant a little more responsibly than Japan does.

To resolve this dispute, the island should be given to Australia. We know that Australians were the true owners anyway. Don't agree? Just check our nicely rewritten textbooks!

If I said that I was gonna kill a whole bunch of people, what do you think would happen? We've all been too lenient on North Korea. Idle threats or not they should be punished (sanctions don't count as they are obviously not working).

The thing is I can't really bring myself to believe anything the government comes up with. They've been towing TEPCOs line the whole time, so what is gonna change now? I'd prefer an independent assessment made by an international body or even better- two separate investigations, one by the government regulators and one by an international body. Then compare the two.

This isn't just a reminder for the folks who endured the tsunami, it is a reminder for those who will come later (aka next generation). You might think it will never happen again, but history has a tendency of repeating itself over and over again.

No body likes being lied to, but that is exactly what TEPCO did. TEPCO lied about the radiation and thus removed any option people had of protecting themselves against it. Furthermore TEPCO have avoided all accountability for the disaster they created. The Japanese government is party to the fact, so if anyone is going to make them accountable it will have to come from an external source. In this case it just happens to be the US service members.

Has the meaning of cover-up been lost in translation? According to dictionary.com a cover-up is any action, stratagem, or other means of concealing or preventing investigation or exposure.
Sounds like a cover-up to me.

In terms of the number of people affected and the period of time over which the effects occurred- Fukushima was/is worse.

I find it laughable that they are concerned about terrorists when TEPCO has done far worse than any terrorist has ( in Japan). Fix the problems that need fixing, then do the rest later. I'm concerned this is just a way of keeping international safety inspectors from getting easy access to the reactors.
