But you can get plenty worked up over Obama's "palling around" with "so-called terrorists". If he had, he'd have never received the nomination.

I'm sorry, but you have your smear-propaganda mixed up. The correct falsehood is that "Obama would have never received the nomination if he was white." (Though he is just as white as he is black)

    Wait, time out.

MrDickMorris, are you seriously citing FOXNews as a reliable news source?

For the uninformed, FOXNews follows a rightist agenda and cannot be taken seriously. Same goes for MSNBC which follows a leftist agenda.

    Nippon5,

I appreciate that you took the time to write a response to each point.

    However, you are wrong.

I support Obama because of his character and political platform. Almost the same as mine, except I am publicly pro gay marriage. Apparently, millions and millions of not only Americans, but people all over the world feel the same way. Please don't tell me I like this guy because Bush has done a poor job.

Also, it's "Democrat" with no "e."

Now if Obama was a white man and running for president, would this be a nail in his political coffin.... What about this.... if GWB was a democrate instead of a Republican (same record and all) would Obama even be considered for the office? What if GWB was a great president and didnt mess up so much, then would Obama even be know at all in the political world...

Would you like an intelligent answer?

This would not be a "nail in the coffin" for a white man. If you would bother reading the truth as printed by the Associated Press, you would know that Palin is just trying to smear Obama. If you look at the poles, you can understand the GOP's desperation.

This is unrelated to Obama's race. Obama is not popular because of his race. He's popular because his message reverberates in our hearts.

If GWB was a Democrat? Do you mean, "What if there is Democratic President with an under 30% approval rating whose policy has resulted in thousands and thousands of death and hurt the image of the US?"

Then yes, Obama would be popular now.

What if GWB was a great President?

What if, what if.. gee, it would have no relation to Obama, wouldn't it?

I hope this wasn't too difficult to grasp.

    AP says:

In her character attack, Palin questions Obama's association with William Ayers, a member of the Vietnam-era Weather Underground. Her reference was exaggerated at best if not outright false. No evidence shows they were "pals" or even close when they worked on community boards years ago and Ayers hosted a political event for Obama early in his career.

Obama, who was a child when the Weathermen were planting bombs, has denounced Ayers' radical views and actions.

The final nail in your beloveds coffin. Hahaha. His past catches up, as i stated earlier. Mixing with terrorists will not get you elected in my country.Palin was right to reveal his sordid secret. No patriot can vote for him now. He has lost the faith of all decent Americans.Palin who has been mocked by some here, has shown that electing Obama would lead to the end of the US as we know it.I do not want my country to become a base for terrorists.

    ThuleSociety,

You don't get it. You can't fight terror. When you do, you just inflame it.

Thank you for loving our country. But don't be so rash to equate loving your country with embarking on foolish missions that benefit those with oil interests. If our administration really cared about liberating people, why didn't we take any action against the SPDC?

First, this article makes me feel totally sick. Taliban need to be taken out. But is that even possible without destroying innocent communities?

Okay, I just want to analyze this post.

The Taliban kill yet another innocent, yet somw want us to cut and run, beyond belief!!

cut and run. who wants to "cut and run" from Afghanistan? Isn't "cut and run" the terms Bush used to criticize those who criticized his war?

McCain will make sure the Taliban are routed and sooner tahn later OBL will be caught or killed. He will also carry on the good work in Iraq, and will stay until the nation is secure.

    Okay.

All patriotic folk know that we are fighting on 2 fronts,we shall not leave Iraq in the lurch, that would not be fulfilling our duties.

Tying being for the war in Iraq to patriotism. However, let's think about why we went to Iraq. Everyone should know this. Who launched us into Iraq the first time? Who's family has interests in oil? Bush, Sr. Who brought us back? Jr. Who profited from the war? Didn't Haliburton, the company which was run by Cheney prior to him becoming VP, get exclusive contracts in Iraq? Who has benefited the most? Was it not proved that Bush had a plan about Iraq before 911?

Terror will be dealt a harsh blow when McCain is elected.

    Terror.. be scared.

Okay, listen and think for yourself. Terror is an ideology. It's not matter. Like an energy, it cannot be destroyed. Terror cannot be fought with violence. Any violent act against "terrorists" creates more people who use terrorism as a weapon in their wars.

Your party likes to throw around the T word to keep you afraid. If you are afraid, you are easily manipulated. This is the whole point behind terrorism. Look at Al Qaida. Everyone was panicked about another attack on the homeland. However, if you look at Al Qaida's history, they sparcely stage major attacks. Their goal is not to kill us. Their goal is to strike our pride, our hearts, make us panic. When we forget 911, they will come back and hit us again.

I understand your points and way of thinking. McCain will keep us safe from terrorists. He will kill them before they kill us.

Yeah, yeah, that's the same thing a campaigner for Bush told me in 2004 when I asked, "Why should I vote for Bush."]

Don't buy into all the fear.

I thought the bracelet stories revealed the difference between the candidates. McCain's story demonstrated the unrelenting selfishness of the war-obsessed: Keep fighting the war no matter how much more death and destruction occurs just so that MY son would not have died in vain. Obama's story demonstrated the polar opposite of selflessness: Don't let any other mother experience what this mother went through in losing her son.

Exactly. When McCain told that story, I was thinking, yes, I can understand how these parents feel. They lost their child, which is utterly horrible, and don't want that loss to be for nothing. It would be cruel to think otherwise. However, the messed up thing is that as long as the war continues, more parents will lose their children.

    Then Obama emphasized that point.

My non-biased thoughts as an Obama supporter.

Character: I thought McCain did quite well.

Obama's Achille's heal was his passion. McCain came off as more composed.

Content: McCain came off as an actor. It became quite evident that McCain was trained to say "Obama just doesn't understand.." as many times as possible.

He answered questions just like Palin, not even answering the actual questions, just going off on how the country is screwed up and he is a maverick.

Obama does the same thing, which irritates me.

Here is my summary of the debate:

McCain: Obama just doesn't understand.. in my experience.. Ronald Reagan!

You can play a drinking game to the amount of time he repeated those key words. In other words, McCain was all fluff to me.

Obama: 8 years of McCain policies.. George Bush.

I miss primary Obama. The guy is great when he talks about the positive things he wants to do.

    Dogdog is right on.

Yes, these crimes happen everywhere, but in Japan it is socially acceptable to have comics featuring rape of children.

Children need to stop being sexualized. Look at the covers of the major manga weeklies. Many feature teenage girls in bikinis. 17, 16, 15, 14

    I agree with babedolphin.

I'm going to venture to guess that the there are not many Japanese experts on this site because, well, this site is in English and the articles lack essential information.

For me, reading and writing is not as difficult as speaking and listening are. Kanji is very easy for me. Just takes lots of repetition. The first 300 kanji were tough to get through, but once you get the basic shapes, the next 1500 are not so tough.

With kanji ability comes reading ability, but you have to supplement it with serious grammar studies to be able to understand what you read.

And here's why I don't believe those who say that speaking is easier than reading. You have to know the grammar to be able to make sentences. You won't learn these grammar points from daily conversation. You have to get a book for the 1st of 2nd JPLT tests and study from their. Then tell me Japanese is an easy language.

Forgive my ignorance. Has the cause of death been reported?

I read that her body had no external injuries. Is it not possible that the girl had a heat stroke from a prolonged walking under the sun, took off her clothes and then collapsed?

This is the second time a killing was linked to Asperger's on JT.

Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous, there is no relation.

    I have Asperger's.

It's not a disease, just a brain wired a little bit different than most people.
