Just found the end result of the darling baby boy that that the parents came back for. He is 6 weeks old, Down Syndrome, and I saw him in person this evening at a church meeting! The reason the parents came back is because they found out AFTER leaving him there, that he would be placed in an orphanage and have no chance for an adoptive family. They got him back, then contacted a great agency, Aino Kesshin (Decision of Love, free dial number available) and have relinquished him to them to place in an adoptive home. Shows me that they truly care about their baby and what happens to him, his future! The people criticing parents for leaving their babies in the hatch, handicapped or not, have NO IDEA what they are talking about. Those parents really cared for their baby, and went out of their way to insure he has a happy, loving future and family. Good for them! And yes, I do have 13 children, 10 birth and 3 adopted, one of whom is a Japanese girl with Down Syndrome.
