    What they need is for Boeing to deliver the 787. Which is a slightly smaller plane, that's much more efficient than the current planes they have on the routes. ANA is the launch customer for it.

    SLC actually paid DL several million to keep the route. SLC has a lot of connections to the smaller towns in the west that might be hard to get to from traditional TPAC destinations like LAX. So they view it as good business.
