Middle Class Indian Families. The economics of India allow them to have multiple servants in their household. What results is when they travel they think every transport and hotel worker is their personal servant.
Americans have issues too. Usually the lack of attention to their children when traveling. When I travel the J-Kids in First class keep their eyes on their game boy and don't go running around the plane like western kids.

The iPod has taken over 50% of the consumer laptop/netbook sales at retailers than sell them. That is to say the under $600 and sold in retail stores. In particular the $499 price point. The most interesting thing is the iPad isn't cutting into Mac/MacBook/MacBook Pro sales. As more retailers start selling them I think Netbooks are going to be in trouble.

Cathy is a very nice airline. Way better than Delta in terms of service and Quality. I'm just trying to put a little perspective. Almost all of this is because of the decades that Northwest put into building Japan as a hub.
NRT: Atlanta, Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi, Beijing-Capital, Busan, Detroit, Guam, Hong Kong, Honolulu, Koror , Los Angeles, Manila, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York-JFK, Portland (OR), Saipan, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle/Tacoma, Seoul-Incheon, Shanghai-Pudong, Singapore, and Taipei-Taoyuan.

They don't have the presence in those airports to make those kind of increases. The pecking order is JAL, ANA and then Delta.

Go for a baseball game. Faster paced than Soccer by far. You have the opportunity to toss a KFC statue in the river after a championship.

Takashi Miike?! His movies are ultra violet and gory. Even better is the commentary tracks. "He's a method actor. That's really her vomit he's eating." Great....

The biggest rush is the afternoon and evening when Delta (formerly Northwest) has all it's arrivals and departures lined up. JAL and ANA do international from a different terminal and Delta is the only foreign airline with significant traffic. The A380 is nothing compared the line up of 747s and A330s Delta have going on.

American companies don't trust China with R&D work. It's an invitation to have your product stolen. Things like hard drives are assembled in China, but the super complex and precise drive head is made in the USA. They'll help china work on advanced manufacturing technology that drive quality and output, but you'd have to be pretty dumb to just hand everything over to the Chinese. I know people that have send production over to Chinese factories only to find knock-offs on ebay a month later. You can't trust the factory owners and there isn't the legal infrastructure in China to go after people who steal intellectual property. If anything China should be kicked out of the WTO for not implementing the IP controls.

@Sarge
The date on that article is 2007. It claiming all these gains that were basically wiped out in a matter of months. If the gains were really because of tax policy then why did the gains get wiped out? Because the article is BS. Your argument is BS. Our gains were based on a number of bubbles created by Bush era Anti-Regulation, hands-off business policies.
It also cites out of control spending at many points, but doesn't say that the spending was almost all Bush's Iraq War. Nor does it really connect the dots that the spending was known at the time of the cuts. I remember the republican talking point at the time was "well, as a percentage of GDP it's not that much debt..." Here we are in 2010, how's that working for us? The republicans knowingly put us into debt. The republicans got us into the war in Iraq. The Republicans ruined our economy. The Republicans spend a good part of the last decade selling our future to China.

You experience will vary depending on class of service. Once you get to Business or First class the differences are more about how good the scotch or wine is and less about inattentive crew.
