Okinawamike - GREAT ONE!
Parents are needed, but this relatively new phenomenon of stage parents moving towards school is ridiculous.
I really have no solution because with the continuing drop in the number of children schools are going to just suck air through their teeth and try to bear it. Nothing is going to be done. Schools are just going to see them as a normal part of school.

Ouch! What a shot at Shinohara movies. Blame the producers of Japanese movies for that. You can rarely find even the most popular movies outside of Japan.

Thanks whiskeysour and the others who followed. I was thinking the same things. I just can't understand praying for riches. In a capitalistic economy when one does well doesn't that mean that someone has to do poorly? It can't be escaped. As whiskeysour said, it's all about health, love and thankfulness."

I'm pretty satisfied, but also bored. I just want some more excitement out of life.

HILARIOUS! So the service can't be used on portable devices yet, which is how most people WHO BUY MUSIC listen these days. What the hell happened to Sony? Not only are they and the rest of the entertainment industry in Japan 10 years behind the digital world and other developed countries when it comes to producing a product, but now they introduce a service that Hirai says "will EVENTUALLY add portable devices." HILARIOUS!
The service itself I simply can not understand. So I have to pay to access your catalog of music and when I end my subscription at some point I will no longer have access to the songs I like??? WTH? Get a clue Sony! If people want to sample before they buy they now have a legal way to check out music and that's by YouTube. Even iTunes samples are 90 seconds now. Almost half the song.

I'm with you "sharpie." What I can't figure is if military personnel follow orders as they are suppose to, then why was this EVER an issue? Do your job, follow orders and there's no problem.
The logistics of having four separate quarters would be interesting to have.

herefornow - Ain't that the truth? Beelzebub - I was wondering the same thing, but the story does say there were two office workers across from the "scolder" so maybe together they were being much louder than anyone should be at 0640. Also I've been on many commutes where everyone is just begging for SOMEONE to say something to the people with bad manners. Maybe everyone was happy that he had said something, but like Gurukun said about the "snowball effect" it just got out of control. I wonder if the person who pulled the alarm was one of the initial three involved?

Must be nice to be able to take a hiatus at any point in your life and not have to worry about the daily grind. Not criticizing her. I honestly think it would be nice. Everyone should have the opportunity to take an EXTENDED vacation after a number of years of working. It would make for a far less zombie like experience and make people more productive.

majimeaussie - They've apparently started doing that with the Apple TV. Here it's ¥8800 and in the States I got mine for $99 while I was home in October. I honestly thought they wouldn't bring Apple TV here because who wants to buy or rent J-TV shows and the very limited library of movies that they have.

I didn't know we could print photos wireless with the iPhone. I'll have to look into that. The best news for me is AirPlay so that we'll be able to send things directly from the phone, touch and iPad to our TVs through Apple TV. This will have to be my work around because homesharing will not work from my Windows 7 PC. It's updating now.

Sorry, but I was just over there and I walked along the Southern Terrace and then across to Takashimaya and this particular area was not there at all. The Southern Terrace side was nice, but didn't look as nice as this shot and the Takashimaya side was severely lacking. When you're on the 2nd floor level there are several set ups of PET bottle "sculptors" with a space ship, robot, mini tunnel and a Christmas tree, but I saw nothing that looked like this picture.
JT could this have been the display that is just off of Shinjuku Station??? I forgot the name of that strip that you can enter from minami-guchi, but there is a "Itsdemo" shop next to it. I'm pretty sure this picture is labeled incorrectly as "Shinjuku Times Square."

@thundercat - This is "safety Japan," so there's no reason to give the training necessary to deal with violence (read: sarcasm) and at most he was probably told to just give whatever is demanded, but that doesn't really prepare someone from thieves who are intent on using violence.

I'm really hoping that JT will follow this story through to see what punishment these guys get. I'm willing to bet 3 - 5 years like "mobass4u" suggested. The minimum for something like this should be life.

@Foxie - Then don't tell them. @koriyamaboy - Obviously in your world people would NEVER do that so what's the problem?
@Sasoriza - I also hate that. I get "friend requests" from people I never talked to in H.S. and uni who just want to snoop. @combinibento - EXACTLY!
FB is a much more interesting way to stay in touch with the people I care about and it's much more useful than E-mail because everything is centrally located.

@smartacus - It says nothing about her hotness. Hot is hot. You're right, but in terms of the type I'd actually like to spend time with it means a lot.
Yes, there is. She's exhibiting Paris Hilton behavior with that line. The world could do with a lot less self love or self praise.

Don't you think it's weird for people to say, "it took a lot of courage," when they're referring to themselves? It seems that someone would normally say, "I was scared to write about it," or "I was nervous about revealing that information." It just comes off as very self centered and too much like an NBA or NFL sports player. I always thought "courage" was a word we use to attribute to others, so the way you used it is what I would expect. And yes that does take courage, but to say it about yourself? No, it's self-centered.
