What this shows is an ability for Germany to face its ills of the past head on while Japan simply bury's its head in the sand about its own.

The thing you gotta like about Ishihara is if the guy has an opinion or idea, he is not afraid to express it.

There's also an expression I learnt in school, it goes "Empty vessels make the most noise." Definately applies to Tokyo's Village Idiot.

n Japan, many female smokers put their pack of smokes in little tobacco pouches/bags along with their lighters etc (although I have seen this same practice in in HK, Singapore and Korea as well). Some are even designed by trendy brands like LV, Chanel, Coach etc. Basically, I think this labeling issue wouldn't cause any disruption to most Asia-based female smokers if it was ever introduced here. But like mentioned earlier, smokers will smoke, regardless of the packaging.

That's another sign that Japanese women have more class and manners than any fat western woman does.

“The Tokyo Sky Tree was constructed with state-of-the-art Japanese technology. It will not fall,” said Yoshihito Imamura, deputy manager of Tokyo Sky Tree Town.

What else would the PR spokesman for the Tobu Railway say?

You will see the curvature of the Earth

So you're comparing this with the barren nothing-ness of the Nullarbor Plain where this is one of the few places on Earth not near the sea where this is possible? Says a lot about the suburbs of Tokyo then doesn't it!

Can someone change the needle? This broken record is becoming particularly boring. Perhaps when the village idiot of Tokyo has bought the islands he p*** off there and never be heard from again!

Err...isn't solar power a pretty basic component of growing vegetables? (and flowers, and grains, and weeds....)

    That's called Photosynthesis.

Also, what restaurant in Tamachi has that much space. A name would be useful.

Have the bleeding hearts actually read what this scum did?

Uwabe drove his car into Shimonoseki Station in Yamaguchi Prefecture and then knifed people nearby, killing five, in 1999. Furusawa murdered his in-laws and stepson in Yokohama in 2002, while Matsuda killed two women in southern Miyazaki prefecture in 2001.

Scum like this don't deserve to share the oxygen that honest people do.

So, how to fix this whole Japanese public educational debacle? Easy. Abolish all public schools. Let private schools and private teachers compete with each other. And let parents and students choose their own education. This way everybody is happy. The solution is very easy but very hard to achieve. The reason for this is that people think the end of public schools would be the end of education in Japan. Most people worry about paying high tuition fees to private schools. But everybody fails to realize that private schools are only expensive because public schools exist. Without public schools, private schools will get a lot cheaper and affordable.

Yeah right - thats the silver bullet. Put a price tag on a necessity and just wait and see what happens. Only the rich will send their kids to school.

I've never understood why there are contests to eat like pigs. Some people don't even need a contest. It is abhorrant to think that such a thing as 'Major League Eating' exists in the US of A.

For a candidate, make sure you are going to a consultant who has specialist knowledge about your industry and your discipline. You’re looking for a recruiting company that can give you a choice of jobs.

Rubbish, I know from first hand experience with this outfit that they only contact you if they have a job the recruiter believes will get you the commission. If you fail for them they drop you like a stone and you'll never hear feedback why you were not successful.
