It all sounds too good to be true. Japanese Banking involves a convoluted process of giving the customer the least amount of satisfaction while fleecing them of as many fees as possible. To cap it off, ATMs which are designed so people can access their cash while the banks are closed, shutdown out of business hours!

How is that any different from the jingoistic perspective that broadcasters in Australia, New Zealand & Japan take? I feel sorry for those in Australia who will have to suffer with Channel 9 being the broadcaster there - at least here in the UK there will be the BBC, probably the best of the bunch when it comes to Olympic broadcasting.

Thank heavens I came home before they sold out. Was the only way to get a reasonably priced tin of baked beans. Even then you had to search hard around the store to find them. Can't blame Tesco for this - aside from one small section, they sold the same rubbish you'd find in any other Japanese supermarket like Daimaru Peacock with only a small number of expats seeking out staples from home.

I lived in Japan for 3 years and all I could get was rubbish contracting work. When the last one was terminated in May, that was the last straw and got out. I wouldn't recommend working in Japan to anyone. This figure does not take into account those who like me, refused to register for the unemployment benefit and/or Hello Work.

When will JT be giving prices for every other nation? Or is this just another example of this site becoming the US-J Today?

Toughen up buttercup. If he wants to play in the European Leagues, he needs to get used to this, which is only meant in jest and is just part & parcel of the crowd. Some of the chants against Arsenal I've heard here are like this - but he ought to be thankful he's not in the Premier League where he'd probably curl up into a ball in the locker room and not make it out to the ground.

Gee, Tokyo's village idiot is really on a role with inane tripe this week isn't he? Or is it just a slow news week in Japan now there's no foreign riots to report on?

Ishihara is an idiot. As someone who recently left Japan due to loss of employment and inability to secure similar work in the same industry after months of trying, the under current of hostility towards gaijin in Japan is something I don't miss & Ishihara, the village idiot of Tokyo I especially don't miss.

There's enough crap cars produced by Japanese makers as it is. Why would people here want to buy something that was Found On a Rubbish Dump or needs to be Fixed Or Repaired Daily?

Impressive. I've seen that picture many times on the TV and wondered how the heck they would move it. I'm guessing similar technology would be used to move the other ship that landed on top of a tall building.

It's all a load of rubbish. You now have the option to pay for points which you'll be very lucky if you can find a flight you can use them on.

I may have to pack up and leave in the next few months myself - but not for fear and paranoia about radiation that has caused many have leave - but because I will be made redundant and there are pathetic employment opportunities here these days.
