The last thing Haiti needs right now is this scumbag to come back, just as the place is struggling to get back on its feet after the earthquake.

The worst part today will be when the heat kicks in and the stench of the mud and remaining flood waters prevail. Yuck.

illsayit - I sat through the entire 7pm bulletin last night, and also saw nothing of it on Ohayo Nihon this morning either. The BBC, France 24 and a few other news agencies elsewhere in the world have been covering it. I'm surprised the Japanese National broadcaster can't be bothered mentioning a once in 37 year catastrophic event in a major trading partner's 3rd largest city. Perhaps its payback for the whaling stuff.

Thanks for the coverage of this event from back home. NHK couldn't even be bother mentioning this on their news last night and instead crapped on about their new budget for more awful programming.

Oh no. This is destined to be on the list of awful movies this year. The sequel in '89 was awful enough. A third movie in a series is rarely anything close to being as good as the original.

It is common for the Brisbane River to have reef sharks as far upstream as Mt Crosby. I once heard of a guy going water skiing in the Karana Downs area get bitten by one of these small sharks.
The thing about crocodiles is of course yet another media beat up.

I agree. I can't see this as anything other than a positive step. Japan & The ROK need each other more than ever with mutants governments such as NK & China on the doorstep; neither of which appear to be relenting in their belligerence to date.

I used to work for a Coke bottling company, and they do bottle Coke slightly differently in different regions. The syrup is always the same (the Coke Company sells the syrup to the bottling company), but the amount of water and gas mixed in changes. Eg, Coke in Japan and South Korea is slightly less carbonated than in the USA or Australia.

rainman1 - you and me both. I'm fed up with these greedy people who bring cases into the cabin that take up way too much luggage space, leaving no room for anyone else and also shoving your luggage out of the way to make time. Understand why this happens on those tightwad airlines that charge for check in luggage - but why do this on an airline with free checked baggage limits unless you're a selfish S.O.B.?

But then the UK replaces them with Australia's cast-off's (Peter Andre, Germaine Greer & the Minogues) so it seems the net population of alleged celebrities is intact.

shudder. Who could stand watching this self-obsessed individual and former gutter press editor. I've seen a couple of his ITV specials, that was enough for me.

Now why would they do that? These guys are as morally and ethically bankrupt as the IOC. These guys at FIFA seem to be following their lead in everyway - open to bribes and giving tournaments to crooked regimes - Beijing 2008, Moscow 1980 and going back even further Berlin 1936 spring to mind as examples there.

A lot of their steward's bat from the Paddington end.
Also, their stewardesses seem to come from the same school for surly attitude as British Airways.
