Dear, oh dear. Mr Rush was driving the train. This article doesn't say how the Guard caught up with the train. (My interpretation of 'conductor' btw is the one who check's tickets on the train, not the one who sits in the rear compartment of the train and blows the whistle - that's the 'guard')

Make it 2 for me. The only way I can deal with flying these days is by being drunk or doped out by sleeping pills. Flying in the 21st century is an absolute pain in the ....

Taxis in Sydney scored badly in the areas of value for money, availability and knowledge of the area.

Well duh. They also get negative points for rudeness and lack of knowledge and/or ignorance about deodorant. Pretty much all Australian cab's suck from my experience but Melbourne's were the absolute rudest.

The Oyaji's at my work clog up the bathroom brushing their teeth every lunchtime yet they still pong due to a fear of deodorant. Hopefully they'll discover this latest gimmick so I don't have to wait forever to wash my hands.

Yanagibashi.....Visitors are unlikely to realize that this neighborhood was a flourishing red light district 200 years go.

I live there and I didn't even know this. Very interesting.

I think some particularly elderly women enjoy missing out on a seat just so they have something else to grumble about for the rest of the day. I've given up my seat many times on Tokaido Line trains between Atami and Toyohashi (no seats because JR Tokai insist on using trains too short most have to stand) and have been looked at by some old ladies like I'd just got off a spaceship - they are stunned to be even offered a seat.

Ford is an acronym for any of the following: -

Found On Rubbish Dump Fix Or Repair Daily F***** On Race Day

With so many rubbish local cars churned out, why would anyone drive a Ford in Japan?

So you're not safe in their planes for fear of their safety record and now fear of being ripped off by one of their boiler stewardesses? I think I'll be avoiding Air France like I avoid eating snails.

Isn't this why Tomato Juice was created in the first place? No other reason to drink something that's equivalent to soup.

If you can make a traction motor on a train or a trolleybus whirr because of it's design, why is it such a big ask to do this on a car? It would sound better than a fake V8 noise for example being emitted while the car is in motion.

I just bought my ticket to taipei from osaka, and i live in tokyo!! still works out cheaper. hahaha. Thanks jetstar

How are you getting to Kansai Airport and back then? By my guess a round trip to Kansai Airport via Shin-Osaka works out at about 32,000 yen. Really worth all that hassle?

@mrsynik you should expect it to be out sooner rather than later, with biweekly updates ^^

    Awesome!

I don't understand why people who've been in Japan still for so long jump up and down about people being able to smoke in restaurants and bars. It's the same as going to Greece and bitching about them smoking like chimneys. Deal with it or go somewhere that's non-smoking friendly like Australia or Canada.

What ever happened to communist paradise where everyone shares in the wealth equally?

In China you have the right to buy what you want but not to say what you want. That's Chinese communism for you - it leaves glasnost and perestroika for dust!
