Troubles between them will also hurt innocent Koreans too. The ones who suffer the most will be Koreans.Korea please tell China and Japan to grow up and act responsibly if they really care about peace in Asia.

Dear Mr.Bae Yong Joon We don't need to hear Japanese say I love Korea because of Mr.Bae.There will never be genuine respect and friendship between Koreans and Japanese unless Japan unties the knot which it tied in the first place..Sincere friendship between 2 Asian neighbours will only come when Japan truly is sorry and compensate for its own wrongdoings it inflicted on Korean people.

Don't get me wrong I am a Korean who has nice Japanese friends both male and female and my family member(sister) is married to Japanese-American..I am trying to help Koreans and Japanese become better neighbours and friends because in the future we will need each other more than ever before..

Kudos for both. But don't blame Orser if kim cannot find better coach than him.Now that Kim is an Olympic champion, she is
smart enough to work things out her own way.Maybe Kim has some chutzpa so she thinks she is at the top of the world. As a fellow Korean myself, Kim should be commended for her gold medal and Orser should take a break after his hard work.

japan is just one of those nations who focusses its attention on China..By surprise, most Koreans don't know China very well indeed..But nonetheless,China's break-neck speed of its economic growth has far-reaching implications for Korea,Japan,U.S. & EU. As China becomes more self-confident, don't be surprised if they thumb their noses at foreign companies operating there and they will give more generous offers to taiwan firms in china. What this means is that China will eat away at foreign technologies which they offer and then China will kick them out of their country.

Plus it's extremely hard for Seoul to please both N Korea & U.S.A. simultaneously because these two countries are at the very extreme opposites to each other..The U.S. is the world's freest and the most open nation while dprk is stalinist, most repressive and extremely impoverished nation that can barely feed itself..

It's also quite difficult to deal with lil kimmy up north but so far S Korea and USA have managed to ignore crazy kim until his torpedo attack on South Korean warship brought out can of worms..In effect, N Korea has declared war against S Korea..Seoul despite its growing economy is still too much dependent on U.S. military in S Korea for its own security..However, Thanks to President Lee Myung Bak's pro-U.S.A. foreign policy, the Americans have never been so much welcomed in S Korea as they are now in Korea.

Korea pays a dear price for not being a powerful nation. Had Korea opened up to west as japan had done then maybe Korea might have avoided the fatal tragedy of being divided across 38th paralel by the U.S.A. and Soviet Union..It may have been a Korean tragedy that was unavoidable not to mention just japan's colonization of Korea but also Superpower division of 2 Koreas plus chinese army's intervention in Korean War..And now 2 Koreas are forced to hate each other and even have to go to war with each other..Things don't look too good for the outcome of 2 Koreas..I feel bad that foreigners only sought to exploit Korean division to their own profit but at the same time S Korea needs U.S. help just as U.S. is having military exercises with S Korea.

Koreans have blamed china, japan, russia and even USA enough for their internal woes..Now is time for Koreans to forgive foreign powers and not dwell on the past..After Korea-US military drills are over, two Koreas may need to find better ways to get along well with each other and try not to act rashly at the expense of Korea-U.S. relations..So S Korea must learn to balance its delicate relations with both Pyongyang & Washington..

Oh!I just forgot to add that Japan dug in the tunnel more than 500 m from their side..There is still some lingering tensions between Korea and Japan but the overall trend is that compared to the past Korea-Japan ties are ameliorating for the better and next generation who will live in peace..

I am kind of unsure why YuriOtani thinks Koreans hate Okinawa people..What makes you think of that I wonder?? Never heard of Koreans detesting Okinawans when I am in Korea..In fact anti-U.S. base Okinawan activists come and fly all the way to Korea and talk to Koreans who are also anti-U.S. base activists in Korea's U.S.Army bases..

Korea and Japan are still struggling to get along with each other..They set up full diplomatic relations in 1965 at the behest of the U.S. Government..In 1992, Korea and China set up embassies in each other's capitals and they have no problem getting along well each other..If this pattern continues then Japan will feel left out while Koreans are getting closer to Chinese..So why is it so darn difficult for Korea-Japan relations to advance forward???..I am disturbed by the fact that Koreans hate Japan more than the Chinese do and this also makes Japanese unhappy towards Korea..More efforts are required to bring Korea-Japan together..I got nothing against Japan just hoping lesser Japanese people will hate Korea less than before..

I chatted over the phone with a Japanese girl from Ehime Prefecture near Hiroshima when both of us were in Boston,U.S.A. and she told me that Japanese people originated from Korean Peninsula..Another American male student said the same thing about Japanese people originating from Korea..Even Emperor Akihito mentioned that one of his relatives come from Baekchae(백제) kingdom in ancient Korean peninsula..

By the way do Japanese people living in Japan know that Japan has already started to dig in the undersea tunnel to link eventually to Pusan,Korea? I got this information from a Korean Cable Channel YTN but Korea isn't doing anything to dig in the tunnel from their side..Besides both Korea + Japan Governments haven't reached common understandings on this undersea tunnel between two countries and yet again Japan is working hard to continue the construct the undersea tunnel to Korea..This maybe completed in 10~15 years time from now on and so I do see a glimmer of hope just as the light will be seen at the end of the tunnel..Such positive step-by-step moves by Japan and even Korea could help find an affirmative solution on Tokto islet issue..And once the tunnel is ready to go into operation Japanese people can drive cars or travel by railways to Korea,China,Russia and even Europe too!!!

I am U.S.A.-born Korean citizen and I found many interesting posts that are put up here..First of all, why does Japan claim Tokdo to be their own territory? I just don't understand their logic and way of thinking..This false claim by Japan could make more Japanese to have anti-Korean feelings..If the U.S.Army leaves Korea and Japan then who knows whether there will be a naval battle over Tokdo island..If Japan DOES attack Korea again like they did in 1910 over Tokdo islets, Korea will definitely fight back at Japanese..So take my advice!! Stop bullying Korea and sort out your own problems in a nice fashion..

I just hate it when Japan keeps on mumbling that Tokdo belongs to them..Besides Japan has plenty of grievances with other foreign powers such as the U.S.A. over Okinawa bases relocation issues and other island disputes with Russia & China respectively..Japan please STOP annoying Korea..We Koreans have had enough being under 36 years of colonial rule until the U.S.Air Force dropped 2 A-bombs on 2 Japanese cities..I would like to ask all Japanese people please treat Korea fairly & nicely..Koreans have never hurt Japanese people's feelings because Korea NEVER colonized Japan in any way or form and I ask Japan to give up its own arrogance and learn more humility towards its neighbours like Korea..Japan is an Asian nation who knows the importance of being humble-minded which is what Buddha and Confucianism has taught in ancient Asian civilization..Other than Korea-Japan lingering disputes which I firmly will adhere to Korea's side I admire and like Japan too and I enjoyed dating cute Japanese girls..I am not against Japanese people just want Korea and Japan atone for past Japan's sins in Korea and quickly move ahead towards a brighter future which requires that Korea and Japan not only to make up or reconcile each other but put a complete end to useless discussions on time-consuming issues such as Japan's militaristic behaviour in Korea from 1910~1945..Young people from both countries(Korea+Japan) appreciate each other's cultures and there has been a subtle shift in the mode or way of thinking in how young Koreans & Japanese view each other..

I too went with my friend to Tokyo and although the stay was rather short since my friend had to return to Seoul on Sunday evening just in time to get back to his own work,I really enjoyed Tokyo for 1 night & 2 days..I tried to speak in English with Japanese people and only a few understood it..Many foreigners complain that Koreans and Japanese speak poor English which I agree of course..Funny how in Tokyo I saw less than 5 U.S.A. automobiles while when I was in the U.S.A. I saw too many Toyotas and other Japanese brands of auto-makers..Seoul too has more than 90% Korean cars like Hyundai,GM Daewoo,Renault Samsung,Kia & Ssangyong..

So in order to prevent this kind of flare-up over Tokdo islet issue, both sides need to refrain from making inflammatory remarks about each other and be polite & be nice..Korea and Japan need to have more frank discussions about their bilateral relationships and issues that are mind-boggling..More dialogues on this sensitive islet issue without being entangled in fiery disputes or emotional conflicts will do neither side any good at all and let's act now before it's too late..Thanks And Have A Nice Day!!!

Korea's Lee Myung Bak said to Japanese reporters that he is ready anytime to be friends with Japan Government and people..President Lee went all the way to invite Japan's Emperor Akihito, son of Hirohito,to come to Korea and Akihito himself told Japanese reporters that he feels "kinship" with Koreans..

Hatoyama responded to invitation by saying the Emperor is too old to go abroad..What's there to worry about East Asia Community??..Besides if Asia wants to compete with Europe to get a niche or a share of pie in the global market then it's extremely good idea to add Uncle Sam to East Asia Community because I think that even if Japan-Korea-China joined hands with each other and rival Europe, I don't think it suffices to compete with EU..That's right add Americans in Asian economic affairs might prove that Asia-Pacific could become a formidable trade power to be reckoned with..

North Korea's Kim Jong IL is a LIAR!! Anyone stupid enough to believe what North Korea says has yet to learn the lesson in the hard way..North Korea is full of non-sense..I'd advise wise people DON'T TRUST Kim Jong IL(Kimmy)..He wants to spark another war in Korea and maim South Korean economy..

And fat, ugly Kimmy wants Seoul to break up ties with Washington so that U.S.Army will leave Korea and start World War III starting with North Korean missiles hitting targets like Seoul & Tokyo..U.S. pullout will give Kimmy a freer hand in dealing with Seoul..Sometimes I wish the U.S.Air Force bomb those nuclear sites without hurting Korean people on either sides of DMZ..

It's about time 2 Koreas reunify and help U.S. find some relief that there is no reason for Americans to fight another Korean War in vain..This Korean division still continues today and is very tragic for all Koreans wherever they live..Germany unified 20 years ago so why not the same for 2 Koreas???

    Hello elbudamexicano

Hyundai is actually sold in Japan..Please go to Hyundai Motors website in yahoo and find out more about it..In fact, last year throughout Japan's auto market, Hyundai sold 492 cars..Not a lot but American cars aren't too popular in Japan either..When I visited Tokyo from Seoul,Korea, I saw only 3~4 U.S.A. cars..And I am sure the car quality of U.S.A. are just as good as Japanese cars..So why don't Japanese buy more foreign cars?

Japanese people are rich people and they can afford to buy more foreign cars but Koreans and Japanese are so econo-nationalistic that they buy only Hyundais and Toyotas respectively..Since more than 90% of cars sold in Korea are local brands so it will be difficult for Toyota to break Korean automobile barriers..So far BMW,U.S.A.'s Big 3,Porsche,Jaguar,Volvo,Ferrari,Peugeot and other Western auto makers hardly made a splash in Korean auto market so I doubt whether Japanese autos will be sucessful in Korea at all..Good luck to Toyotas and other Japanese cars in Korea...

I like Kim Yu Na!!! No matter how much Japanese dislike Koreans,Kim Yu Na is simply awesome!!!It's not the rising sun,it's rising Kim Yu Na..I don't mean to be rude or anything but Japanese have a bad habit of putting down Koreans but Korean people are extremely resilient and they can withstand all sorts of pressure and hardships..Koreans are very strong-minded people..Although I am not pro-Japanese I ain't anti-Japan either..I am just neutral on Japan so don't get me wrong..

There was this Goldman Sachs Report that in 2050 reunited Korea's economy will match that of Japan's economy assuming japan won't sink under the sea..I do find Japan a bit weird because Japan was A-bombed by the U.S.Air Force and yet 70% of Japanese like the U.S.A. 65% of Japanese people say they have positive feelings about their relations with South Korea, a longtime rival of Japan..I don't want to pour cold water at a time when Korea-Japan relations seem to be improving but I hope Japan will stop hating Korea because Koreans are not responsible for Japan's negative attitudes to Korea..

Japan picked a fight with Korea and the Japanese should stop bothering innocent Koreans who never attacked Japan in the first place...I don't understand why Japan still hates Korea so much..If Kim Yu Na becomes world champion, does that have negative bearing on Japan's international status? Japan must accept the fact that Korea will become a growing power because Koreans work the longest hours in the world beating Japanese and Americans and even Chinese..And Koreans are deeply proud of their national heritage..

Japan must say sorry to Korea..Ask any sensible Japanese person in Tokyo subway Is Japan justified in killing Koreans who know nothing about Japan? Japan please be nice to Korea..Korea is a good country because we have never attacked foreign countries and Korean army fighting in Vietnam War was because the U.S.A. requested Koreans to dispatch troops to Vietnam..Koreans have zero desire to kill innocent Vietnam people..

When I meet international people in Korea, Japanese are very quiet I could barely notice Japanese presence in Korea while Chinese and South East Asians make a lot of noise so I know where they come from..I do think Japanese individuals are nicely mannered and polite and they have a nice smile on their faces..What irks me is that Japan is reluctant to face the past because if Japan doesn't do so then there is propensity for Japan to attack Korea again..I think the best way to move Korea-Japan relations forward is to have frank discussions and hopefully more dialogues will help promote better understanding between 2 Asian neighbours and overcome misunderstandings about each other..I like Japan because I have been to Tokyo in June 2007 and it's a nice city..

There is one good news about Japan and that is I saw on Korean cable channel YTN that Japan already dug the undersea tunnel 500 m but South Korea is doing nothing to help the Japanese by digging tunnel from their side..In a decade time Japanese people can travel by car or train to Korea,China,Russia and Europe too but it will be a long journey..Plus there is a luxury ferry operating among China,Korea and Japan..So the relations among 3 Asian brothers will start elevating their relations to a newer and higher level..

When I was in the U.S.A. I read a Harper magazine that said Asia had a tragic past because 3 Asians didn't get along well with each other..But now relations among the three are improving visibly..I heard in December Kim Yu Na will go to Tokyo for ice-skating competition and whoever wins the championships let's give her a big applause whether she is Korean or Japanese..
