Sony, Panasonic, and Sharp are for the most part out of the TV making business. Panasonic is OEM for the most part, Sony is made in Indonesia, and Sharp is moving to China.
Sharp has one thing going...they know how to make panels. The focus in the USA now is to hit the BIG screen markets...70 inches plus. The Kameyama factory in Mie is tooling up to make iPad sized panels and products.
Most TVs of the future in Japan will be like Apple products, "Made in China, designed in Japan"

This means, they will ask everyone to take a lump sum to quit. Likely the overpaid management staff will stay due to their level of "importance" to the company.

Steve, stop being a prude. Enjoying pictures of beautiful women is not sexist. Some women enjoy men noticing them and their beauty.

Guilty! I have hidden money away from my wife. Some has gone to drinking after work, but most went to buying my wife presents or dining out with her. It is the only way she is not alerted to my actions and I can surprise her without her worrying about our monthly spending.
@seesaw : my wife has the same concept. :-)

This girl was of legal working age. She was working in a restaurant that serves alcohol...yes, izakaya. Her choice of workplace does not mean she deserves to be molested. Common sense would be that two police officers do NOT molest ANYONE!

You people putting the blame anywhere but on the two J-cops is ridiculous!
Those who are employed by an establishment that serves alcohol are guilty of nothing more than making money. If the line of logic here is followed, then anyone and everyone who has been to an establishment that employs youth are also guilty.
This is exactly the mentality that keeps crimes against women in the dark ages. If you are attacked the finger is pointed at the victim and she must go through the humiliation of trying to prove her purity.

@Farmboy I got my Kindle shipped to Japan by Amazon USA. They will ship here. The problem that people may run into is no carrier. But for me, WiFi is fine!

I am thinking one of the $99 dollar versions for my children. Have a public library card that will allow me to "borrow" books and download them to the Kindle. Hopefully it will inspire them to read more!
