This is sad for so many reasons... 1. That a young boy resorts to suicide 2. That he was not taught how to deal with the bullying by parents nor teachers 3. That the teacher nor school did nothing about the bullying for months 4. That the police simply sent the boy home and ignored his plea for help 5. That the investigation into bullying is happening AFTER this boys death.
I think there is so much that could have been done to prevent this tragedy...

The duty of a Japanese wife...walk behind the husband and carry a big stick. When the husband gets out of line, he gets whacked!
I have to agree with @NetNinja here...she is likely more than she appears.

I think it is really petty to allow a person taking a quick picture of their food annoy people so much. Get over it. Eat your meal. If you are so dissatisfied, speak with the waitstaff or manager. If you are still dissatisfied, do not return to that establishment. Pretty soon you will be eating alone where no one can ruin your perfect world. A better world for all of us.

I know quite a few people that do this on FB, both male and female. Some append the restaurant name and price...and then have friend's comments thanking them for the recommendation.
Steve : Sounds like you are talking about a pet...

In many countries having the mistress would be grounds for divorce and worth more than the ransom asked. Anyone know how it works in Malaysia?

The next PM is the finance minister...and how is Japan's financial situation? Japanese politics are too full of excuses and fear of blame. They need someone who is willing to step up and get stuff done for the country and not for themselves.

I can understand the idea of this law, however, I also believe that there are other, maybe, less "intrusive" ways such as fingerprints or retinal scans. I know the fingerprinting device technology exists already.

I saw the news last night...they had some footage of the boats loaded with passengers and I did not see 1 with a life vest.
...and I doubt the 2 year old decided not to put on her life vest.

I think the police filed the report around 6AM. Don't know why the guy would have his shop open so early.
Looks like it was not one big tank, as I first assumed, but many small tanks. See here (in Japanese): http://www.fnn-news.com/news/headlines/articles/CONN00205558.html

Everyone is quick to jump on board the "parental negligence" train, when many things are often accidents. There is not enough information in this article to call it one way or another. The parents could have been holding the boys hand, but maybe not strongly enough to keep the child from falling through. Hindsight is 100%, and I am sure they were more cautious getting off the train.
@borsht the trains were delayed 10-20 minutes, NOT the parents waiting for staff.
