I am sorry Skip, but I cannot understand what you want to say in the correction above.
This news has made me want to see the film and make up my own mind.
I think the British government wants to be seen as 'fair' so that they will be able to crack down both ways when the time comes, without being loudly accused of bias. They have probably given in to religious pressure this time in order to get support next time. Just my sixpence worth.

Russia has taken responsibility in the following way, quoted from the BBC World Service site:
'Russia's civilian space agency, Roscosmos, confirmed the collision with the defunct 950kg (2,094lb) satellite, which was launched in 1993. Spokesman Aleksandr Vorobyev was quoted as saying the satellite had "in all likelihood... belonged in the past to the military", and was therefore not the responsibility of Roscosmos.'

It's gotta be partly tongue-in-cheek.
Even the word Monga sounds cute, like the Japanese flying squirrel, or Momonga.
Besides, we all know foreign tourists and residents who fit these stereotypes perfectly. They must be ringing a bell with Spa readers too.
Part of the problem is that even if you try to be like the Japanese, they will often tell you that you should act as a foreigner.

Neither. They were both good and it was a win/win game.

The US satellite was commercial.... ah, so the Russian one was...erm, dare we ask??? Didn't a Russian nuclear-powered satellite fall back to earth some time back? This one weighs a ton, it says. I wonder what was powering it before it started this out-of-control orbit and eventual collision?

I still cannot understand why we, the international community, should have to rebuild Gaza.

Quote "the Hamas-run Ministry of Social Affairs stole 10 truckloads of flour and rice delivered to Gaza on Thursday. Earlier this week, Hamas police took thousands of blankets and food parcels meant for needy residents."
How else are they supposed to take care of the fighters underground? Just as in N Korea, the army must surely come first, before the people.

Lack of respect by airport staff. They start seeing you as sheep.
I just want to get on a plane and go, but we have to undergo a total environmental change of hours of lines, glitzy shops, music, announcements, queues, body and baggage checks etc., and it feels like a total invasion of my personal space. I HATE the whole experience, and I HATE those inconsiderate idiots who think of themselves as clever terrorists or fighters who make life so much more difficult for everyone on the planet! (Rant over.)

Which sounds better and is more likely to get a positive reply?
a) I demand that you apologize... .
b) I ask that you apologize... .
Use of a) above sounds guaranteed not to help things move forwards. In other words it is not in Iran's interest to make progress either on the the nuclear issue, or on the issue of Iran's supporting rebellious regimes in the Middle East. Put another way, Iran IS developing a nuclear weapon, and Iran IS actively interfering in the Middle East, and is probably hoping to step into the vacuum left by the US when they move out.

The problem that has cropped is one lamb who was found innocent and released, then went back to become a Gitmo survival hero and sub commander of an Al Qu'aeda group in Yemen, mouthing off vitriolic hate language.

He should have pulled hard on the handbrake, unless it was a foot-stomper type.
wontond. Why did he not take public transport? Hmmm... From the article we can guess that he was taking the car to the test centre/center, where they would evaluate both him and the set-up of the car before issuing this special parking permit.

This whole thing is silly. It's like the left arm attacking the left leg.
Everyone should just go home and take a deep breath and try to discover neutrality inside themselves. Then maybe they can find the best way to stop the cycle of violence, and help patch up the present misery in Gaza at the same time. I hope Israel will also feel free to contribute plenty of money to help in the reconstruction. Hamas also bears much of the blame, and they should be asking Iran for bulldozers and cranes instead of more arms.

Good. I am glad that at last we will have some concrete data on which to discuss greenhouse gases.
All talk has been vistually meaningless so far, with both camps expending much opinionated and vitriolic hot air on the subject.
