The best way is for North Korea to make a bit more effort to draw up a list, and admit openly when it cannot account for some of them, giving plausible reasons. Japan wants to see evidence of genuine effort.
The North obviously don't like the idea that police investigations and lawsuits may follow, which suggests to me that some of those who were involved are still in power.
One further problem is that South Korea has many more missing alleged abductees waiting in the wings, so quite probably N Korea doesn't want to open the Pandora's Box again. They certainly quickly shut the lid again fairly quickly last time.

timborder has the answer in his last paragraph. It is the same problem that Japan has with US beef, and the same issue that the whole article manages to avoid touching. All the rest is huge emotive energy that is being used cynically by people with other agendas. Yes, they look stupid jumping up and down.
I don't have an axe to grind over this one way or the other, but it does seem to me that the US beef industry is clearly being bull-headed when if they took a different approach they could sell amicably to both Japan and Korea. A little bit of self discipline and self regulation, and a little listen to find out what extra they can do to sell their product might just do wonders. But since they won't listen to anyone, they will just have to discover this for themselves.

One of my students loves these uniforms and has a huge collection at home of military uniforms from all over the world: US, German, British, Danish, etc. He also collects model guns and likes to slide into my study and show me his latest purchase. He is already training hard to join the Ji-Ei-Tai after graduation and would love this store, I am sure.

All the other Japanese articles I read said that had he was not dead and he was lying on the ground beside the car. One article said the police think that there was a high possibility that he had been stabbed as there was a kitchen knife sticking out of his chest. Another article said that the police were fairly sure that he must have tried to commit suicide as there was a note to that effect.
How likely is it that anyone would choose this as a means of suicide?

3/10 for that one. Downer! Most graffiti leaves me with a sick feeling inside and ruins that part of my day. Instantly wish that I hadn't seen it.
They should react the same way in Europe and stop a few trains to clean them up, and maybe more people might be tempted onto public transport. If we're going to have graffiti, then licensed artists only, please, as with licensed musicians in the subways.

MPLS2. Keep going, MR2, Supra, Celica, Soarer/SC, Chaser, Aristo, Altezza/IS, etc. There have been some really very impressive cars from Toyota, and great engines.
If Toyota are buying Fuji Heavy/Subaru, why did GM abandon it? Subaru won't lose their spark. Toyota want to keep the spark alive and benefit from it, along with Subaru's history and experience in innovative engineering.

“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Let's rewrite this in modern, more logical, grammatical English.
Because (and as long as) a well-regulated militia (people's defence force, which is organized and strictly regulated, there being no standing army at present) is necessary to the security of a free state, (not country, just a small collection of states which may come under attack by Indians etc.) for this reason the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
That tells me that 1. US citizens, 2. can keep battlefield arms, 3. at home, 4. and carry them, 5. and they will also be available for the defense of the grouping of Eastern states when necessary.
(Pistols are not generally much use on the battlefield, but it could be argued that they are included here, as too Bowie knives, etc.)
It doesn't seem to address crime at all, or questions of individual defense, as far as I can see. It does not suggest free and easy possession of guns, but rather strict and precise control, carried in the words 'well-regulated'.
If gun deaths are out of control, then they are not being well-regulated, IMHO.

Never seen round-shaped glaciers before.
They will be on display through Sunday... and then what will they do with them? Take them back? Drop them in the polar bear's pool at Ueno Zoo? Make 'kaki-goori' for the kids in Akihabara? Or will they have become puddles by then?

What a confusing article.
The USS Juneau arrived from... where? If the Denver will 'remain forward deployed in Japan' (?), where is it now?
Such a simple exercise to explain, but what a lot of words. Leaves my brain spinning...

dammit, yes, I thought the same in the beginning, but when a friend shops you, that ratchets up the odds quite considerably. The friend was probably worried she would do something stupid. I am very, very glad they've taken her out of circulation, and I hope that they have found incriminating evidence at her house (probably have, otherwise they wouldn't officially "arrest" her).
There is something rotten in the State of Denmark (Shakespeare) when the veneer starts to get scraped off and incidents of harm to others and self-harm increase. Japanese people must be under increasing external and internal pressure for these things to happen more frequently. Teach your children to leave a cushion of safety in emotional situations. Teach your children that there is a human heart, and if you can't find it, then leave Japan and travel the world until you can.

dammit, women sometimes recognize the clothing that their friends wear...put that together with body size, posture, colo(u)r/chubbiness of skin and known character traits, and it's not going to be far off the mark, IMHO.
