Sounds like Melbourne bus staff are friendlier than Sydney's.

Cars are often advertised at auction, even though the seller does not own the car and has never seen it. They take pics off the web and then take people's money.

Thus I can imagine that the cops here needed to catch him in some act, in order to prove a) the perp actually had the thing in his possession, and b) a sale-of-stolen-property transaction was taking place.

J4p4n, did you mean that domestic (domestically-produced) electricity is better quality, ( for the environment, ie, it does not rely on gas, coal and oil imports which increase CO2 release)? If so, then your post makes sense.

One thing the article does not mention, consciously or otherwise, is the dangers of pollen for pollen allergy sufferers.

There was an article in today's J paper discussing the real fear among the J populace about the Fukushima cypress pollen which ravages Japanese allergy sufferers year after year. The season is now nearly upon us.

How irradiated is the pollen, and how would it affect people breathing it in? The article concludes that the effect would be negligible, but anti-pollen masks should be used more frequently.

All of these things are not a danger, or so we are told. Maybe so, each on its own, but is anyone discussing multiple-source combinations of radiation intake?

Quote: “The Argentine Republic rejects the British effort to militarize a conflict which the United Nations has said on multiple occasions should be resolved through bilateral negotiations,” a foreign ministry statement said.

The problem is that someone who shall be nameless attacked and occupied the place not too long ago, against the will of the residents. There was a war to re-establish the staus quo.

Again on numerous occasions recently Argentina has been increasingly belligerent in her wording.

Agreed there should be peaceful negotiations, yes, but as the old proverb goes, 'Once bitten, twice shy."

About time they started giving the right signals. The population must have been wondering if anyone was listening to them.

Ah, ta for that zichi, my misunderstanding. Their carry-on baggage must have contained rubber stamps and green flashlights.

zichi, your flu better now? On Jan 27th here in JT National news it was reported that "On Thursday, an IAEA team visited a plant in the town of Ohi to check whether officials at operator Kansai Electric Power Co had correctly done the tests at two reactors. The tests are designed to assess whether plants can withstand earthquakes, tsunamis, loss of power or other emergencies, and suggest changes to improve safety.Their visit, at Japan’s invitation, appeared aimed at reassuring a skeptical public that authorities are taking the necessary precautions before bringing nuclear plants back on line. After the visit, IAEA team leader James Lyons said its assessment would be released at the end of the month but deciding whether to restart the reactors was up to the Japanese government."

The workers there in Ohi fired up a diesel generator and black smoke rose into the sky, I remember seeing in one news report, with the workers wearing white boots in the snow. This was to show the IAEA team that back-up generators would work in an emergency.

So yes, they did visit a plant, but I expect the whole thing was stage managed for them and they must have been more than a little embarrassed at the lack of a) transparency, b) freedom of movement, and c) intelligible information.

Goals, thanks for the link. Looks like he stuck his ciggie in the wrong way round.

Interesting to see that the reason the Police gave for chasing him was, wait for it, driving without a license.

Fadamor, the title says "Frozen water causes leakages..."

Are you saying that this has taken them by surprise? I lagged my pipes at home in advance, because if they freeze solid it can cause leaks or even burst pipes. (No, I do not have a time machine...) Still, I suppose home pipes are more important than someone's stupid power plant.

As I understand it there were many women from Japan, Korea, China etc., who provided 'comfort' for Japanese soldiers within the army system at that time. Many volunteered and many were coerced, but because of human nature, all of them would need to say afterwards that they were coerced. Who would admit that they volunteered and did it for the money? Having said that, I can imagine that most of them regretted it once they had become virtual sex slaves.

Which type was this man's grandmother? We will never know. He seems to have an emotional problem, and the reasons for his actions sound more like afterthought excuses, IMHO.

Hard to comment as no-one seems to know exactly who these rebels are. China needs to be careful about what enemies they are making in Africa, but I am sure they are aware of this.

Well, I posted here on JT at least a month ago that freezing water in the cooling pipes is going to be a major worry and I was hoping (sure) that TEPCO would be well prepared for this...

Don't TEPCO read JT posts? :8(...........

A famous person all over this week's news may have smoked this and suffered similarly, but a little bird tells me that such information is off topic, so I won't mention the name again.

Even illegal substances should come with a description of sorts, with an indication of what it contains, without which people should absolutely refuse to buy.

It seems from what little I have read that although a powerful wave may not come in and sweep everything away with lateral forces, there is a possibility of a rise in the sea level like a super high tide, that could swamp everything below ground.
