@j-boh: I'd agree with your sentiment that renting is not throwing your money away.. at the end of the day, it depends on an individual's situation and preferences. We all need shelter, renting is one way of obtaining it.
and never listen to those people who say that owning real estate will always make you money. Its like an investment advisor telling you this stock is a sure fire winner!

@Kari: With Scholes and Giggs probably on their way out, Fletcher out with Crohn's Disease.. Anderson an injury nightmare there is definately some spaces opening up in United's midfield. All I can think of is Carrick and Cleaverly in United's middle.. they definitely need a strong holding midfielder and someone creative. If United sign Kagawa, he probably won't be their only signing as they have other needs to fill as well.
That being said, I stand by my wish of him signing for the Toon!!

Japan needs the political will to implement any of these things, i.e raising the consumption tax, re-evaluate the pension system, any sort of fiscal reforms...
What Japan is lacking is said 'Politcal Will' and probably won't be acquiring any in the near future. When you only have a prime minister in office for no more than 14 months and a constantly shifting government, what exactly can one expect? These bums are just letting the country chug along or kicking the can down to future generations.

Agree with herefornow, katakana pronunciation stinks... at least my 3 yr old son can tell the difference. In his words: "Mommy says "トラック", daddy says truck" he's kinda getting an understanding at least

Hoping they go back to basics, it was a great business tool.. but they missed the boat when they tried to market the same thing to non-business users. I have an iPhone myself... but without any of the apps, its basically just a cellphone and web-browser, which I gather most Smart Phones are

just in time for Obama's re-election? (as an avid blackberry user)
I hope they can turn this around.. if for nothing else to add competition to the smart phone industry.. if only Apple or Samsung rule the space, then we are at their mercy for whatever they bring out

best restaurant is too subjective to have any meaning, especially if put forward by some pretentious group of "restaurant experts". There's a mom & pop italian restaurant in my city that serves the best lasagna I've ever had and I can have a meal for under $20.. it's certainly not on that list, but so what

I've had a chance to read more about this. Madness, not so much, but skeptical that an airline company is capable of running a refinery.. it could work though,if they are able to buy the assets and if they keep the current staff intact but we won't know in the short term.
From what I read, looking at $150 million for the refinery in Pennsylvania, apparently $30mil is coming from State Aid. Delta's president said that the cost of the refinery is less than the cost of 1 wide-body jet and should supply about 75% of Delta's Jet Fuel requirements.
I don't fly with Delta but if this proves to be a success, then maybe other carriers will look at this type of model and if it reduces travel costs for passengers, then I am all for it. Whether or not the airlines actually reduce ticket prices remains to be seen
