I'm afraid you are wrong. Induced abortions conducted pursuant to Article 14 Section 1 of 母体保護法 is not covered under the national health insurance. Furthermore, under the same law, Article 25 specifies that such abortions must be reported to the prefecturer office by the medical staff who performed such operation.

LOL. No arresting wires installed since China pissed off Russia.

    中国は同ワイヤを製造する技術を持っていない

China does not have the technology to build such wires.

Yep. Just like their high speed rail.

With all due respect, how dare you call my comment "drama"? I used to work in an abortion clinic in Tsuchiura as a part time. I know EXACTLY what I am talking about. People should think before they reply to others comments

    Abortion clinic?

I have read government "reports" that estimates the annual number of performed abortions at one million...but that's only the reported cases.... I wonder about the ones NOT reported.

??? The number is roughly 240K. Why would it be NOT be reported since it's legal in Japan.

Wow and who out of China and Japan has a history of imperialistic expansion?

Han, Ming, Qing, and the current PRC ring a bell?

I don't think the world (especially the SE Asian nation) would give a hoot if China builds an aircraft carrier or two if it weren't for the recent ambitions in South China Sea.

Second, investors don't buy shares of Tepco because they want to invest in KDDI. If they wanted KDDI stock they'd buy it, or a mutual fund that holds it.

Point 1: Past investors did not buy shares of TEPCO because they had shares of KDDI.

Point 2: Due to the deregulation of telecommunication established in 1985, many electric power companies including TEPCO started to establish subsidiaries (PNJ Group) to penetrate the market.

Point 3: Companies like KDDI started to buy these PNJ Groups including POWERDCOM Inc. from TEPCO.

Point 4: The merger of POWERDCOM and KDDI resulted in TEPCO obtaining KDDI shares.

    Now it's sold for cash.

    End of story.

You are correct in saying that there is no 'right way' to do it, but you cannot forget to take into account that it is in IMPORTED 'holiday' here (and you still have to work), where many Western ways of celebrating are imitated because that is the idea. It's not like someone 400 years ago in Japan on a December 24th night said, "Let's eat chicken on the 24th from this day fourth!" and it became tradition.

It's not even a "holiday", smith.

How is it that Singapore can be a vibrant and growing state yet Japan not?

Because Singapore land size is barely over 700 square KM roughly a third of Tokyo. Of course, one could take the figures of Tokyo and divide by three (GDP, population, etc.) and you will see that Tokyo is a more vibrant and growing compared to Singapore.

I guess the point here is that not all cities in Japan can be Tokyo and not all states have the size of Singapore.

And what's your point? It's okay to let children ride in vehicles without buckling up or in secured in car seats as long as you drive carefully? I don't know about you but I'm not willing to take that risk no matter how small it may be.

Never stated so. It's your "observation" that I'm questioning since the numbers don't back it up.

BTW, where'd you get the number 24? According to the link you provided 94 kids under 16 have died in vehicular traffic accidents this year. That's 94 too many IMO and I'd wager that that number would be considerably lower if parents were more responsible regarding seatbelts and child seats

Chart #7. What you did was use Chart #3 in which includes all vehicular accidents (i.e. riding bicycles, walking). Of course, any society should strive for ZERO fatalities but it's clearly evident that your "observation" is not far from ignorance.

And also, one of the reasons Japan is 'stopping' is because of a lack of money, so why throw MILLIONS into a bid that might fail, and TRILLIONS more if it does not when that money could be used in many other effective ways to keep things MOVING, not stopping. Lest we forget Japan will be all the more in the whole once the event is over.

??? Tokyo already has the funding in place and is collecting interest. If you bothered to read the proposal, the newly built venues will basically replace the old outdated venues. Some times, it takes an event like this to do this kind of replacement. Secondly, Tokyo is one of just few handful metropolitan areas that does not receive subsidies from the national government. So there is no "hole" to speak of.

Finally, Japan seems to always want to bend the rules with their bids. Can you actually place certain structures and hold events far off from the main venue? They wanted a dual city bid last time and pleaded their case despite being told several times it was in the rules they could not.

Another puzzling post as usual. If Tokyo or any other cities for that matter decides to send a revised proposal different from the 2016, they are more than free to do so.

There's not much difference between the U.S. made Ford Focus and the Mazda3, Axela in Japan. They both use same platform, the 2.3 engine block, transmission and many components. They are about same size. You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Ford Focus as you will with the Mazda Mazda3 (Axela), as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas. However, Mazda sold 221,000 Axela in Japan, but Focus with similar price, hardly none in Japan. Why?

As gonemad had already stated, it's not sold in Japan.

Do me a favor and calculate the gas mileage of Chevy Aveo sold in Japan versus Toyota Corolla made in Japan for you seem to not understand how much of the difference there between Corollas made in Japan versus any so-called "fuel efficient" vehicles (whether made by U.S. or Japanese) made in U.S.

It is a generalization but it is based on telling observation and far from ignorant or fallacious. Spend just one day driving around in your area of Japan and count how many vehicles you blah blahblah

And yet only 24 (16 and under) died in vehicles FYE October 2011 down from 66 ten years ago.

Above is the "fallacy" JapaHaYN is alluding to. Even if you "observed" from your eyes that Japanese are more careless than back home, statistics say otherwise.

Why would placing a road tax on 2.0 litres or more for Japanese imports would be classified as "fair"?? That is blatant protectionist measure since U.S. Domestic cars are exempt from this, right? If you want to make it fair, make ALL vehicles, domestic or foreign subject to such road tax.

140 messages and yet no one has yet to provide this so-called non tariff measures that Japan allegedly has in place.

I think we're making headwaves with Spidapig.

I don't know if Spidapig will also claim that I'm putting words in his mouth or something later but he is basically agreeing to that Japan's conduct within the legally defined international waters (whether Pacific, Atlantatic, or South Ocean) is fine.

So you want to compare gas milage with Chevy (Aveo), made by Daewoo of Korea to Corolla? This is a Daewoo product that GM subcontracted to build. We are not comparing cars made in Korea with Japanese made car. The subject is about U.S. and Japan.

No. I want to compare the 2011 Aveo made in Michigan to Toyota Corolla made in Japan.

Those aren't barriers. They are "excuses." What's next sfjp330? Build bigger roads in Japan so that U.S. cars can fit tem? Convert to the English measurement system?

I'd prefer to return to the trade barrier discussion, but you stay silent on that one...

Agreed. 100+ messages and no one has yet to come up with these so-called "non-tariff" barriers in Japan. Keiretsu?? Another word for manufacturing, distribution, marketing, and after sales service. which is sorely lacking in American companies trying to operate in Japan.

And why is sfjp330 putting up MPG on Japanese cars made in U.S.?? Does he bother to check the actual gas efficiency of Japanese vehicles sold in Japan compared with U.S. vehicles sold in Japan? (i.e. Corolla versus Chevy Sonic (Aveo))??

If North Korea had wanted the books, they should have first normalized relations with Japan. That's what South Korea did. Now North Korea can talk to South Korea about getting some of them.

Funny you mention that because the 1965 Normalization Treaty with SK included a separate agreement where Japan agreed to return some of the cultural artificats that were transferred to Japan during the annexation period. This particular item was not listed by the Korean government.

Many of these items were transferred legally or bought by individual collectors during the period since Korean peninsula was part of Japan. They weren't "looted" or "stolen" as some media claim. Korea is simply trying to increase their "historical" inventory which to them meant little to value to them during such transfer occurred.

Ever notice why many Korean Buddhist cultural items are in Japan?

Swept under the rug??? Gee Exportexpert. If you knew about them, they were reported by the media, is it not?? I could give you stats on ATM theft and rape on other countries which are basically ignored by their media due to the fact that it's an everyday event that needs no reporting. That's " swept under the rug" IMO.
