The question does not remain. Complete games are very rare these days and certainly "over hyped" accomplishments according to the modern MLB management. Ray Halladay has 4 CG but but lost three consecutive CG. In any case, it was Francona's decision based my guess on Altria's post.
"Why did Francona have to go to the pen ? Do tell !"
Yes. Why does Francona have to go to the pen??
Exactly 40 games into the season for Bosox has a total of ONE complete game. In another words, 39 other games, Francona has used the pen.
It appears that you didn't read the game log or you can't comprehend the game log and based on the last Toronto thread, I'm leaning towards the latter.
No, according to me, Matsuzaka got yanked as soon as his teammates hit two home runs to get him the lead ! Francona was not going to take a chance with "Dice" anymore. Question for you, if Matsuzaka was so good, why didn't he go the distance ?
Francona had nothing to lose by keeping Matsuzaka in the game..
Of course he did. According to you, by keeping Matsuzaka in the game, the Twins could of extended the lead even further and thus eliminating a chance of any comeback by the Sox.
Props to rancona for keeping him late in the game. It appears Francona has more confidence in the Sox hitters than Matsuzaka. He knows that for Matsuzaka to win they need to produce 5-6 runs... pretty much the same as last year.
Guilty of what CMEANDU26?? You can't even spell out the specific crime this person was allegedly involved in and yet you brand him "guilty". How absurd is that???
