    This is one crime that seems to be unique to Japan. You can understand the motivation. But it's still weird.

    I have to disagree because I remember reading about similar cases in the U.S. and EU.

    PAD really stands for Party Against Democracy. The leaders of PAD want the rich and powerful of Thailand (themselves) to rule the country instead of having a democracy. They only want to replace Thaksin with themselves and have a bigger piece of the pie.

    Mitsuru Miyake, leader of an association of 20 shopkeepers on the western side of Ikebukuro railway station, said he is baffled by the name ‘‘Tokyo Chinatown Ikebukuro,’’ and that some Japanese may be led to think Ikebukuro is a Chinese community.

    Ikebukuro now has about 200 Chinese shops.
