    spot on! i bought my Alpha 300 DSLR body in Australia a year ago for equivalent of 40000 yen. That was brand new back then. I had a fun chat with Aussie tax return guy at the airport when he was asking why on earth I was buying Sony while visiting from Japan. I quoted this article (a year before reading it). i bet he bought himself a sony as well :-)

Then you might want to explain to me how a well-regulated militia can get by in today's world without napalm, stealth bombers, helicopter gunships, tanks, aircraft carriers, automatic weapons, shoulder launched missles, and all the other arms they are not allowed to keep and bear? You think semi-auto rifles, pistols and shotguns got it covered?

    not sure what you mean by that. BTW, National guard was supposed to be the militia, but government took it under its wing. Should there be a major rebellion in the US and people do decide to use guns. Do you think the president will give order to use stealth bombs and napalm against them; and if he does, do you think that order will be followed. It takes 1 platoon commander to refuse that order to turn things around.

    The reason the NRA is changing the law so that criminals can shoot police with legally acquired guns is very simple, more guns get sold. And that is what the NRA is all about. All the rest is pure crap, including using the constitution to help sell guns. 25,000 people die each year in the USA due to gun deaths. The biggest risk to gun owners is that they shoot themselves.

    Great, you can read numbers! out of the 25000 how many were shot by illegal firearms that NRA has nothing to do with? Besides NRA is useless, like all regulatory bodies, it should be dismissed.

    Amazing! Government propaganda has prevailed. 130 posts and only one mentioned true reason behind liberty of gun law in the US.

    "...with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, ..."

    I think the text of second amendment says it all: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." While US is US, this will never change. Any attempt to change it will be seen as reason to act as described in first quote.

    well, it also discrimates against good cars. i looked into purchasing a new G37 Coupe, but backed away after seeing how much taxes i have to dish out.

    The most significant green house gas contributor to global warming cycle is water vapor. Water vapor is most commonly produced by heated oceans, which are heated by sun, which I think we all agree varies in activity every few years. Increase in CO2 cannot affect global temperature as much as natural sun cycles.

    So-called scientists needed to fabricate their data to push it across so governments can use it as propaganda and excuse for more spending of taxes payers money.

    These so called activists can collectively jump from a tall cliff as a measure to attempt to resolve an existing problem of over-consumption.

    bunch of nonsense! This moron doesn't have a clue what he is talking about. It was the Japanese PEOPLE that brought Japan out of the hole they were in in the 50's. Government had nothing to do with it. Government intervened in the 80's by lowering interest rates by 2% and it all went downhill. If they didn't do that they would have been no bubble or lost decade. It would have been steady growth, same as for decades before.

    Now the government went into debt, twice the size of GDP, which is nothing less than a time bomb that will cause hyper inflation or default.. or both. So-called conservative government tried to spend their way ouf of recession. They failed in the 90's. why would they succeed now? Government should stop spending and let Japaonese people fix the country. They did it before, they can do it again.

    As for Moore, he should get deported.

    Funny how he goes on in his movie about the bailaouts, calling it capitalism, while current system has nothing to do with it. Anybody who actually understands free market economics will agree that capitalism in the US died in 1913 with the Federal Reserve Act. Michael Moore never mentions this. Neither does he mentions numerous regulations that elimiated small business from competitions.

    Then he goes on about democracy, which is nothing short of gang rule. Democacy never works and brings any sort of organization (from a privately owned business to a country) to a slow death. Nobody should be getting what they want, but people should be free to make decisions, that's why I'd rather watch Milton Friedman's "Free to Choose" instead of this crap.
