So when the big one hits Okinawa, I'm going to the bank!

Never know what doors may open for you.

More likely collapsed sealing, but anyway. Don't blame whoever did this. Bank was probably going to sign it off anyways as the whole area was destroyed.

With my goal in sight, my blood boiling and no time to spare, the last thing I needed was to be kidnapped by a lunatic taxi driver. So I lifted the latch, forced the door open and headed, shaking with the sort of fury I seldom muster, for my rendezvous; the screaming driver chased me down the street, into the building, and kicked the outer frame of the elevator doors hard as they closed with me inside. Most undignified, I’m sure you’ll agree.

    LOL! Sounds like Tokyo Musen!

How much more interesting this forum would be if we were all in one big room making comments directed at each other or other people.

Except for it would be very hard to keep track of what everyone says. when you have everything written down in a thread, you can always go back and quote.

Some old farts just can't keep up with changing trends. Internet interaction is a life skill most essential today, what are social skills if you can't type an email?

What does this have to do with anarchy?

The moment government starts seizing property for how it looks or smells, they will be start seizing it for anything else.

Perhaps you can do is call police that should be able to get a court order to prosecute the owner for violation of community ordinances. But knowing Japanese police, it's unlikely to happen.

It is what it is. It's still private property and government should have no business sniffing around.

Cuz they have nothing else to talk about. Turmoil in middle east doesn't bother them. as a matter of fact most Japanese don't know something is happening in that region.

I have to pass 2 love hotels, 3 pachinkos and 1 adult store just to take my son to the bus stop for kindergarten

Take a detour, old timer! This is land of the free. if they own property and want to have pachinko, love hotel, or frigging pig farm on there, they have the right to do so!

I think you are raising your son at wrong part of town! don't like it? move! end of story!

Thank you, but no thank you BA, These flight times are insane. I am better off hitching a bus to Narita and boarding a lovely VA flight around noon.

AA time from NY is perfect, but NY bound is rubbish. how the hell I get to airport for a 6AM departure and what the hell I am going to do at NY at 5AM??!! Are they doing any thinking before booking these times?

Starbucks girls are hot! But you must be a mad ignorant imbecile to try to pick them up while they are hard at work! Props to the dude who stood up for them. Wish him speedy recovery.

Not necessarily. A friend of mine got caught at Fukuoka airport with a few grams of dope (not meth, but still...) in his jacket pocket after a trip back home. The customs guy stared him in the face, told him to be "very careful" and sent him on his way.

LOL, WHAT??!!! You kidding? I got caught speeding once as was told the same thing, but dope? noooo!!! I bet the customs guy was a smoker :D

JT, could you do us all a favor and show this thread to Mr. Theriault please, and maybe have him respond to us, the customers? I think there may be a lot of feedback here.

Also, i would like to thank staff at optics department at Kawasaki and Makuhari for going an extra mile for me and providing exceptional service. if anyone deserves a promotion it's them!

I hate the management inside the shops. It is very annoying how they check membership cards, receipts and annoy customers with their stupid orders. Everything inside concerning their rules is inconvenient for the customers, also I do not understand the useless membership fees. No, I do not like Costco, obviously I am not a Japanese lady who can put up with all the stupidity inside a Costco shop.

whiskeysour at 09:43 AM JST - 22nd February To: Ken Theriault Representative Director / Country Manager Costco Wholesale Japan Ltd Please tell the lead manager at Makuhari some of his/her employees need an attitude adjustment. The employees need to understand that the customers are paying their salary. I had great service there but the checkout/cashier people and the id checkers to the store entrance from the 2nd floor need an attitude adjustment.

Agreed and agreed! They are extremely anoying, impolite, inefficient. and just plainly stupid in Makuhari. I can write a book filled with examples. Let's just say they spend way too much time checking recepits and they still make mistakes! My parents accidentally brought home a bag of ravioli that they didn't purchase! And may I need to remind them that I should not be waiting in line TO EXIT THE DARN STORE! I PAID ALREADY, LET ME OUT!!! Makuhari staff needs to go and replaced with staff from Hawaii! Those are such a great bunch! Friendly, quick, helpful, efficient, and don't waste your time! I think there are about 3 or 4 costcos at Oahu and even before Christmas they aren't half as crowded as Japanese ones. So Mr Theriault, open more Coscos in Tokyo and bring some hawaiians to work there! and start selling that spicy tuna roll here in Japan! That thing is yummy!

Word of advice about membership fees: you get 5G cash back if you register with Costco's amex program. Membership is global, so just bring your card with you if you fancy some stuff cheap while away from home.

Jesus! that's horrible. but yet not unusual for this country. i think tazers, non-lethal firearams, alarms and better security should be more widely available.
