These people need to seriously lighten up. With all this complaining people are already tired. At some point Japanese are going to stop tuning in. The sport I believe is dead. It died a few years ago. Let's face it. The top 2 people, for the past 10 years or so, aren't Japanese. Japanese never accept foreigners into their culture, so guess what, time to just stop wasting everyone's money and time and start focusing on closing up shop. Everyone knows the WWF is at least more fun to watch. Enough already. Sumo is dead.

I think it is very unlikely they have that many fans.

    AND

I think that their ploy is a waste of money and if they were thinking about their fans, they would give 7 free concerts to set their record that they only care about.

Try to suck as much money out of your fans while they still have it, is a complete lack of empathy on this group. Wonder why people illegally download?

People should be saving as much money as they can. The rainy days are here.

Education in Japan is not designed to let children think. I often call University students children. Never would do this overseas, but all to often do I see children at the station. Perhaps their mothers and fathers will go back to their schools and complain that they didn't raise their children good enough. As that is the job of teachers in Japan to raise their children.

Managers want their bonuses. Brainless workers fall in line. Buy crap so I can get my bonus.

Meaning no more foreign Brazilian workers. Sad to see this work force which was already working for minimum wage, loose their jobs and stuck in a country that really doesn't want them here anyway. Very sad.

And you will only need to stand in line 3 hours to get them. Their service here sucks.

A joke first thing in the morning. Thank you Mr. Aso for making me laugh. If you think downloading child porn, surfing the net, drinking with co-workers, reading the newspaper, sleeping in meetings, acting busy when you have nothing to do, and leaving late just because it is the thing to do, is all good work ethic, then yes teach the rest of the world.

As for me, I think Japan should learn from most western countries and base peoples jobs on ACTUAL performance. Finish when you get your work done and have a life.

Japanese families don't want the father around. Wives don't want them around. So if the Japanese male were to learn actually how to work and free up their time, then society as a whole would be more or less miserable. Works here but for the rest of the world, you have got to be kidding.

In addition, those long hours are usually not paid making the average working hourly wage about 900 yen per hour after taxes. Great for a developed country.

    4,500,000 yearly salary with bonus 275 days a year (50*5.5) 13 hours a day 3575 hours a year 1259 per hour 881.12 taxes about 30%

Japanese people love standing in line. Donuts, MAC, BK, Costco, ever where there is a line. If there isn't a line they think the shop is no good.

Lines equal poor management and or poor service.

When will Japanese learn. As for now, seems like everyone has enough time to stand in line. Instead of working.

ai_sumo Your post on Christmas eve is completely RUDE. Think you have been in Japan too long. Perhaps you know first hand about AIDS. If that's the case, apologies. In addition, if not, start thinking in 2009!

Seeing the local hotels don't want the foreigners, it is the least Japan can do. What happens when visitors expect the best of Japan and they are disappointed with everything else? Like gaging on smoke ever where, walking with your bags ever where even up stairs, extremely expensive food costs in these hotels, non-English or non-Spanish or non-any other language speaking people. While Tokyo might be easy to navigate, when you navigate it, what do you see? How many temples can you really visit. What other things are there to do? Shopping? Picture menu restaurants because staff can't communicate, fish market (o they don't want visitors now)

How about a real campaign that takes all the headache's out of visiting Japan. A tour that westerners can sign-up for and go on.

I recommend the following tour guide. (made by me ;> )

5 day vacation in or around Tokyo.

DAY 1 (1 day Hato bus tour) about 10,000 yen including lunch This will take you all around Tokyo and you can get an English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, etc. Explanation on almost everything in Japan.

DAY 2 (Hakone Onsen Area) Odakyu line has an excellent discount package After a full day of walking viewing etc. An onsen trip is a perfect day.

DAY 3 (Shinjuku, Hahajuku, Shibuya visit) Start in the morning and walk around Shinjuku Park. It's a beautiful city park. Visit Meji shrine a little longer. After Shopping in fashion crazy harajuku and shibuya are excellent places to see a fun size of Japan. Rest of the day visiting places again visited by the Tour.

DAY 4 (Kamakura) It's a whole day. Walk along the ocean after visiting the Budda.

DAY 5 (Simply Ueno) Ueno, Ueno Park, and National Art Museum in Ueno

Sorry, American's should buy more American cars. Just because about 1/2 of them are produced there, the wages of a few thousand people pail in comparison of what is being shipped back to Japan, otherwise they wouldn't do it. The other factors for building in the US are the huge tax breaks they get.

The Japanese car industry has had a wonderful time in the US. Time for the US to take care of itself. Buy "Made in America by American Companies"

As for filling a void if the 3 big car companies go into bankruptcy, no void will be needed. They will always be around in some form or another. Everyone needs a car.

Anything goes on the open seas. Greenpeace. Just might become GreenAgressive if Japanese police try to do that. Be careful of nature lovers. They can go militant very very quickly. As for the labeling of terrorist, it's so funny. What Japanese will do for their whale meat.
