Japan's very own "rat pack." Clearly all three with one foot in the grave. I wish them the best of luck, I'll be watching the latest "ist" awards...

Just when you thought they were running out of "ist" to award some talento with. I can see this happening at a high school prom, but not at a nationwide level.

Wow!!! CavemanLawyer would be one hell of a Defense Attorney and many others here as Prosecutors. Here's my take on it; Suspect driving while intoxicated, under the influence or whatever, clearly is a factor in the incident by law. The victim was out walking his dogs with the same lack of caution many have here and truly thought any driver would be looking out for him regardless of the weather conditions, big mistake! Cell phones and high tech gadgetry in cars have removed the "room for error" in safe driving. How often do you see someone cruising along and text mailing or yakking away on the cell. Add in a few drinks to that and no one is really driving the vehicle anymore.

Ok guys, at lease for once we are not bombarded with "best person in sun glasses wearing stockings" or " award for best girl who walks backwards with short dress under the age of 11."

An absolute rarity in this country. A parent acknowledging an ill responsible act on her part. In most cases it would be a demand from the parent on why the police or society allows this to happen and not accept blame. Hat's off to the mother and of course condolences.

Himajin, take a close look at the clothes that are being worn by Ms. 11 yr old and her twenty something counterparts. I don't think the MM club does this nor do they classify 11 olds in the same category as adults. An idol in Japan, is an idol at any age and as some have indicated in this post prime hunting grounds for Pedophiles. I always get a kick out of some pervert getting nab for having sex in a hotel with some under aged hooker and then read crap like this just one page further in the same news paper.

You can't buy this type of entertainment anywhere, LOL… The categories of awards given in Japan that rate a news story seems to be endless, LOL…

Fact: Mika is the illegitimate child of Mifune Toshiro. Fact: Toshiro hardly ever saw her nor even cared she existed. Fact: Mika is cashing in by playing the loving daughter of a Japanese icon who barely acknowledged that he was her father. If she was that well off in the Mifune clan, she would not be married to a Japan Elvis sugar daddy twice her age.

I think it’s quite refreshing to have a younger take on an old genre. Enka needed a little resuscitation, as evident to its popularity decline as the bubble burst on the Japanese economy which in turn caused a decline in the karaoke industry. As for someone’s comment about Jero not being in Japan or not ever meeting this enka icon, who cares! There are thousands of Elvis impersonator all over the glob making a killing (or in most cases making a fool of themselves) on his legacy. You go Jero, wish I would have thought of it first. I also think this is a clear case of JT misquoting Jero on the “my version is better than the original.” The guy has too much class to make a silly comment like that and of course there is no protest in the media to remove him from the airwaves.

Child was in the right place, mom wandered off! I guess Uta realized after her purcahse of a child at the shopping center, it did not include instruction on how to care and feed it.

Let me get this straight, she writes an essay on manners being more attractive than boobs. However, she has had a boob job to look more attractive. I don't get it. For the love of money, the book will sell.

My hat off to Triumvere, the only good comment/advice in this forum. Hat’s off to Triumvere, the only good comment/advice in this forum. Japan is no longer the nice clean safe place to live as it was a decade ago. As the culture becomes more diverse with foreign influence and the economy in the state it’s in, crime will rise. I recall reading an article in JT about six years ago where an African gentleman confessed that he had been mugging Japanese for years and making a good living doing so. His reason for doing it was that “the Japanese lack a sense of caution.” With that said, take heed to Triumvere's advice in being alert. The next street surgery candidate may be you!
