If you do not cherrish democracy then there is no problem. If you do not believe people have a right to defend themselves from foreign invaders then there is no problem as well.

Israel will demand Syria to isolate Hamas and Hezbullah and distance themselves from Iran. If it ever gives back the Golan to Syria and Sheeba Farm to Lebanon, Zionists apologists and supporters will say. Is not Israel a genuine country> while Israel will keep on expanding in the West Bank while diplacing its native people from their homes.

Please take a minute and read this link.

Anti whale of today is driven by racism, culture imperialism and a contempt for science. Iceland is not exactly known as a country which pollutes the world or show disregard to the environment globally. Neither are the whales they catch endangered. Now why it is wrong to utilize a natural renewable resources is something I will never understand.

    Whaling pictures.

    Whaling is environmental friendly

The use of selective equipment to catch marine fish and mammals is perhaps the most environmentally-sound way of producing food for human consumption today: the environment remains unaffected, energy use is low in relation to yield, and there is no pollution from fertilisers, pesticides or other chemicals. All harvesting must of course be carried out within reasonable limits, so that stocks are not driven to extinction.

With increased environmental awareness and abundant whale stocks, the future for whaling looks bright. A victory for tolerance and common sense.

The ancient Maori practice of utilising stranded whales endured throughout the colonial period, but was made illegal in 1978 with the introduction of the Marine Mammals Protection Act.

While seeking to protect marine mammals, including stranded whales, the Act is seen by Maori as another attempt to extinguish their customary and Treaty rights to whales, by making it illegal to utilise them. Not only is access to meat, oil, bone and teeth lost, but the customary practices, or one primary vehicle for the transmission of traditional knowledge from generation to generation, is severed.

Japan is hunting in international waters. Any country has a right to do so if they wish.

Japan is not pretending it is science. They have to do scientific research to hunt whales. Japan wants to hunt without the science bit. Countries who vote against Japan are not doing their jobs at IWC. Iceland carried out a scientific research programme before going commercial. Once IWC finds the stock estimates then countries can start hunting whales using whaling management scheme programmes such as RMP. Therfore since the whales Japan hunt is off the Red List countries who vote against Japan is not doing their jobs at IWC. As long as the growth rate is bigger than the whales hunted then the hunt is sustainable. The anti whaling hysteria from the Anglo Saxon countries namely UK, Australia and New Zealand is making them look bad. Not only do they show contempt for science but also a contempt for cultures who eat whale meat. This is a very imperialistic view. Telling other people what food is acceptable to eat and what is not.

The whole notion that US went into Iraq to help Iraqis because they cared about the people is as absurd as people believing that bunnies live on the moon. Let us not forget that US politicians when confronted about the hundreds of thousands of children who died of famine in Iraq said* It is worth it.*

Mc Cain is an ethnicity hater. If I was anti American I would vote Mc Cain as I would enjoy seeing US sinking further than they already do and becoming a 3rd world country where their wages is less than a street bum in Scandinavia.

A crack in the petro Dollar will have concequences for the US enterprise especially the millitary and the war in Iraq. As US does not export much consumer products compared with Japan or Europe and has a huge trade defecit they could get away with it as the Dollar was kept artificially high due to the petro currency. With Iran and other countries now trading oil in Euros and Yens the Dollar is expected to sink even more. The Feds then print out more Dollars and thus the Dollar sinks even more. The cost of war in Iraq is too much for the US economy. To finance the war US needs to borrow money from China and their debt becomes even bigger. US is in a recession. The question people ask is how big of a recession are they in. If the country is in recession what you need to do is spend less than you earn and not the other way around. US will need to cut down on what isn't sustainable for the economy.

Saddam changed the oil currency the year before the US lead invasion and now that Iran has changed from the Dollar to the Yen and Euro US is acting extremely aggressive towards Iran.

The reason for the high oil prizes is as other posters have mentioned is due to a deflating Dollar and increase in oil demand. The oil production will peak in a few years and from then the production will decrease while demand will stay the same or rise. Oil countries are ditching the deflating petro Dollar and using solid currencies such as Euro and Yen thus weakening the Dollar even more while US has to borrow money from China to be able to maintain their war in Iraq while the country is heading towards bankrupcy.

I think it is in the interest of oil companies to have high oil prizes and micro chipping the ordinary sheep. ID card, biometrix database, surveillence society.

The damnd for oil is there. That is also what inflates the oil prizes as well as the deflatiion of the dollar. It is problematic for countries who export to as US have less purchase power now than before.

Bush is making profit from selling arms, contractors and oil companies. Because the country is in war he will use that as a pretext to take personal liberties from citizens and call people who oppose un patriotic. The steps have come gradually. US already have Patriotic Act and some millitary act where ordinary citizens can be sentenced outside the court of law by the government which is unheard of in democracy as the founding principles of democracy is that the cabinet, parlament, court are to be seperate. Also how someone can be withheld for years without a sentence and a charge goes against the popular opinion on what democracy is.

There are alot of guns in Canada but much less homocide and crime. There are guns in Europe too but much less gun related crime. There are guns in many places in US where they enjoy a low crime rate. What makes US not look good in these statistics is that depserate people with guns tend to go wrong. This I think goes back to the class difference in US between the rich and the poor. You do not find the same type of poverty and desperate people in western Europe or Canada as you do in USA. I think there is something to this. As the saying goes there is no has never been any socialism in USA therefore also greater gap between rich and poor which as a whole makes the society more tense.

Obama said he has stated “over and over again that I will not negotiate with terrorists like Hamas.”

I hope he doesn't mean this but I guess he has to as the frame work of the political reality in US is rather narrow and counter productive. Mc Cain ranting on about the magical date 2013, is very credible. We must stay in Iraq. We must stay and fight al Qaida and turn our country into bankrrupcy.

People talk about the year 2012. In 21, 2012 we will enter a new age according to the Mayan calendar. An age lasts 5125 years. The Mayans had calculated and studied the stars, planets and calculated that it would take 5125 years for a cycle for the same stars to allign themselves. Maybe Mc Cain had this in mind when he talked about the year 2013.

Good luck Mc Cain and your war in I-raq.
