Yes, let's all go down with the economic ship. That way it can be blamed on everyone. The passage of this tax is the beginning of the end. No need to wait 1000 years as the other JT story says.

Sooner than that if Japan doesn't stop covering up its food producing land with industrial parks, private homes, and other development. The great arch from Kobe to Osaka is a classical example.

Fault? Whose fault? It must be the fault of "Ring of Fire." "Get real," as they say in the USA., and try to avoid a catastrophe such as the great tsunami by having a government that can react to any disaster rather than doing feel good legislation.

What does all of this mean? Simply stated, Japan needs to send more money to foreign countries for redevelopment in hopes of increasing the sale of Japanese goods to those countries instead of rebuilding Japan. It all about money and the Japanese children's future. Invest now.

Why is the USA paying billions to support a puppet government in Afghanistan and many other countries when the "enemy" is supposed to be in Yemen? Send in the drones and Send Home the Yanks. No danger in Okinama!

Correction accepted. Thank you. "$65000 USD per year" of which all of it is income tax free from the USA, state and Japan. One point that was left out is that Medi-Care also has a $250/year deductible, which has to be met before anything is paid. The USA system is a "for profit" health care operation, and the workers pay for all of the non-insured. It makes many Americans want to quit and go on welfare.

Monsieur Hollande will meet him at the airport with "his hat in one hand and tin cup in the other." Japan cannot afford to "give away" money to the any country. It needs to take care of its own people.

"Who is in charge of this country?" Obviously, not the voters because they re-elect the same philosophy in every election. The names and faces change, but the story is the same. "Get in, sit down, and shut up. We will do what is best for you."

Nuclear energy does not produce green house gases. Oil, natural gas, incinerators, gas and diesel engines? Enjoy the summer heat on the trains and subways and in the offices and clubs. Can ice be produced without producing green house gases? Only with nuclear energy.

Exactly as predicted a year ago on JT after the tsunami. Over reaction to the "marching masses" by politicians will cause a hardship for every person using the trains and subways or working in the air-conditioned buildings. Watch for the marching masses to protest the shortage of electricity in just two months. Don't worry politicians, your office and limousine will continue to have air conditioning.

It is one of the biggest mistakes ever made in reaction to a "feel good" movement. Time will tell when the price of gas goes to 1000 yen a liter and nothing moves, not even the office workers. There are only so many articles of clothing that can be removed to accommodate an air conditioning setting.

Why?The public has been told that Japan didn't have the funding for such activities. More debt plus less investment in the homeland equals a paved road to being Greece.

An American who is 65 and on Medi-Care and who earns $65000 USD/month pays a minimum of $145 USD per month to Medi-Care from Social Security or other income plus $350 USD to an independent insurance company for supplemental health care insurance. The average amount of time a woman stays in the hospital after a Cesarean birth is 24-36 HOURS. A simple treadmill stress test supervised by a RN and MD costs $5000 USD at the hospital. Cost are outrageous in the USA.

Let's hope they enjoy marching when the is a shortage of electricity for the trains and subways, not to mention the formerly air conditioned offices. Either there is too much electricity being produced by nuclear energy or there is plenty of oil and gas to produce the energy. It will be clear in July and August.

What does it take to get the readers and Japanese people to understand that is one problem. "Who will control the oil and gas resources?" If Japan finally would finally accept its responsibility to defend the homeland, the problem would be solved and the Yanks on Okinawa could come home. Japan needs to start drilling NOW on the island, establish domain and possession based on the international waters agreement or say good-by to the territory. Everyone in Japan can enjoy the high office temperatures and subway delays this summer and in the future.

What is the big deal? Why isn't this covered by Japanese news agencies? http://money.cnn.com/2012/04/24/news/economy/south-china-sea/index.htm?iid=HP_LN This matter is serious and can escalate. Pull the Yanks out of Okinawa so that Japan's military can be closer to the situation.

The next question is where will all this money go when the sale is denied? Will Japan send in its small navy? Maybe a donation to the world bank, UN or some foreign country when Japan needs to rebuild its economy? This is far more serious than fishing rights and the story is not being told to the public.

"Fish, my eye!" It is not about fish. Does anyone really believe China will let this area go to Japan when China wants to bring Taiwan back into the "family?" The whole issue is all about gas and oil reserves. Conservative projections estimate that the South China Sea contains 4.8 billion barrels of oil and 64 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, according to the United States Geological Survey. That's equivalent to Alaska's discovered oil reserves, and more than the discovered gas reserves in the Gulf of Mexico.
