kokoro, if you have children, what would you do ? Ponder over the civil liberties for wild bears or shoot them as soon as you can ? Bears do not go on killing sprees but they will definitely attack you if you are near and a wild bear attack will almost certainly kill an adult human, let alone a child. It's difficult enough to find a marksman hunter as soon as possible and it would be nearly impossible to find a marksman with tranquiliser darts at short notice along with heavy lifting equipment to pick them up.

Wild bears kill humans, take a good look at the size of the one on the left. Moving them back into the mountains is dangerous and difficult (these bears a very heavy) and it does not solve the issue as they will end up back in town again in a few months. These two were found near a school and they will easily kill a child.

But charge 4 euro from a third can of beer.

? That wasn't my experience ? I understood that Finnair have free drinks on longhaul flights ? It's only the shorthaul routes where they charge.

Had quite a good experience flying the Narita-Heslinki-London route as an alternative to BA or Virgin. Helsinki Airport is a very pleasant experience and a world away from the horrors of Heathrow. Another good thing that Finnair do is to allow you any number of nights stopover in Helsinki during your connection without any additional charge, something that the likes of Lufthansa and other carriers might want to consider ?

I have absolutely no issue with someone wanting to better their life by living in another country. But what I cannot accept is for those people then to protest against the host nation where they are living. The pro-Pyongyang North Korean community in Japan is a typical example. If they want to support the North Korean government so strongly then they should return home and suffer basic lives like the rest of their fellow countrymen.

I find that a lot of the Chinese and North Koreans living here in Japan are extremely hypocritical. They are in Japan because they a) want a better lifestyle through work and salary, or b) are studying here because they cannot get as good study courses back home. Yet they get all nationalistic and support their governments territorial disputes and previous history with Japan ? They want the best of both worlds, with a better lifestyle offered in Japan and still demonstrate against Japan ??

The guy on the left is no police officer. Police don't dress like that, not ever plain-clothes. He's just a regular guy.

He is a cop. Undercover plain clothes cop. Hence the job description, 'undercover plain clothes'.

I hate the way the Chilean President has jumped onto this rescue bandwagon and milked it for all it's worth. Instead of rejoicing he should be apologising for the unsafe conditions that all miners in Chile have to work under. This accident is his responsibility to deal with and he should be using the word sorry instead of waving his Chilean flag all over the news. Kind of disgraceful that he has taken a potentially grieving incident and turned it into media spin. Glad they all made it out and the rescue teams too.

smartacus, most people do not live 10 minutes by cab from Hamamatsucho. Even me. And I live in central Tokyo. For you Haneda is the best option, but when these people start quoting comparison travel times they need to be more honest and take into account the average traveller. Not those who live 10 minutes by taxi from the monorail and then compare them with the Narita journey from Yokohama. Narita from Tokyo should state a journey of just over an hour from Tokyo station. Haneda should state 20 minutes from Hamamatsucho monorail terminal.

if you’re flying to South Korea, why take two or three hours to get out to Narita for a two-hour flight when you can get to Haneda in 15 minutes?

Whoever wrote this ridiculous statement is either on the payroll of the new Haneda International, or the actual president himself. The Narita Express from the heart of Tokyo at Tokyo station takes what ? Just over an hour ? The only way to get to Haneda in 15 minutes is if you are actually sitting on the monrail (the express one) as it pulls out of Hamamatsucho station, which is not as convenient as Tokyo station.

In July, a new high-speed railway line, Narita Sky Access, was launched, linking central Tokyo with Narita International Airport in Chiba Prefecture in 36 minutes.

Do they think people are that stupid ? Anyone who has ever lived in Tokyo or visited Nippori will know that it is not central Tokyo. The main Tokyo station on this line is Ueno (longer than the 36 minutes to Nippori) and that is North-East Tokyo, not central Tokyo.

The BA flight from February is a complete joke. Departing Heathrow at 8am will mean a 6am check-in, which in turn means waking up in London at around 5am that morning to catch your flight. You then arrive in Narita at around 5 in the morning, after a 12 hour flight, with not much sleep, and having to keep awake for the whole day if you want to skip the jetlag.

We were all complaining about the journey from Narita after a longhaul flight, but considering the ridiculous alternative it wasn't so bad after all. I'll stick with Finnair's Helsinki to Narita and spend a day or two in Helsinki along the way without additional charges.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Japanese School Sports Day. Long boring speeches, idiots hogging the view with their pro video camera + tripod setup, a lot of dancing (?) and a severe lack of sports. Back home in England it was full-on with sports. In Japan the kids know from a very young age that they will have to put up with this boredom and ridiculous etiquette for the rest of their lives.

London Heathrow, the busiest airport hub in the world, with the largest amount of traffic, and the hub that most passengers need to use globally, does not seem to be on Haneda's network ?

Sorry, little Spaniard - Webber is gonna whip ya on Sunday!

Either that, or he's going to take Hamilton out of the race with an illegal manouvere and be allowed to get away with it (yet again).

I still don't understand the alleged connection with Katherine Hamnett ? Diesel is from the Benetton/ Sisley fashion part of Italy in the Veneto. Katherine Hamnett studied and designed in London. Katherine Hamnett may have sourced textiles from Northern Italy (as would have everyone else), but you would hardly say it was the birthplace of Katherine Hamnett fashion design just because she may have sourced textiles from the factories there ?

Moderator: The Genius Group launched Katherine Hamnett.
