Why is this becoming an excuse to bash brits? When you do that you mimick the Japanese attitude of putting all military/americans/brazilians whatever in the same bag. The guy is an individual who over-reacted to his bbq borrowing being thwarted, and he got arrested. Also, there is a difference between chefs and a military, its not a large institution with strict protocol and discipline. If anything, chefs are often a surly bunch, known for going off the deep end. restaurant kitchens are hectic and have alot of shouting and bullying and time pressure etc etc, and head chefs usually are stressbunnies, so its not that surprising that a chef would snap. Apples and oranges guys, as much of a point as you do have, does everything have to come back to the military? If every foreigner related crime story is compared to the military it gets a little repetitive, and weakens the significance of your message. At least just keep the jokes coming, but the rants comparing everything to the US armed forces situations gets old fast. This is a refreshing crime, like the mcDs porn producers. More funny crimes please.

Moderator: Readers, stay on topic please. No more references to the military.

I guess some people would rather hurl rockets and gunfire and keep fighting indefinately, broadening the divides between two sides, while others seek to bridge the gap and find alternatives to bloodshed.

ah well Americans think they have the best everything, go figure. If its a re-enactment, its not competing with other battles, but trying to acurately depict one particular battle. I like the photo, the gun flash is cool, and yeh, that dude totally has no head!!

Yeh im sure there are some hidden cameras in the ladies toilets that could be put to use on this sting operation. But seriously, what a wacko, and only tulips at the station. Probably has a grudge against the station of the council , and just wants to cause expensive damage easily. Just booby trap the tulips.

thats dumb, it actually looks like two burgers stacked on top of each other. Heres an idea, eat three burgers comfortably instead of dislocating your retarded jaw for trying to eat that thing.

haha thats hilarious. Yeh of course the light and truth that is the US would never fail without the entire evil british empyre plotting and scheming to make em look bad on their big day. Just jealous because thier own empire that isnt an empire is not quite what they expected. I guess its what happens when you try to emulate that which you despise the most. Mugabe is a very bad man, to deny that and place the blame somewhere else is stupid. Perhaps its the commonwealths responsibilty to seize power by blowing up half the civilians, getting the odd bad guy here and there, then trying to model the rebuilding process on Japan, because they have so much in common. ha genius

Im thoroughly enjoying reading Mareo2's posts, very clear and logical. Alot of arguments fall apart when the political double speak and redirection is removed form the picture, (if only it could be). pots calling the kettles black always manage to fall back on something outside of the basic argument to try and prove why the pot is more black than them. I applaude Mareo2 for not trying to slander America as I have been guilty of, that also is a too-easy way of shifting the focus. Leaders need to lead by example, not by an iron fist. Smiting our enemies for centuries hasnt prevented anything.Premptive strikes are just preludes to retaliation. Around and around we go. Just adding more fuel to the fire. If taking the high road was easy everyone would take it, but someone has to start somewhere. Maybe America just doesnt want to rise to the occasion. notimpressed is not impressed with humanity in general.

I think it is carrried out to some extent. But I think that the concept is not meant as an absolute. If it was absolute I would be able to walk up to the biggest scariest gang member I can find, and tell him his Mum ant S&%K C&%K for sh%# with out getting torn apart. Its to what extent the concept is intended to be taken that we need to think about. Obviously for some governments anything concerning them is out of bounds. So the concept is often practised, but more often limited by varying degrees.

If you all are whining about the quality of writing and content why not go out and get a pullitser yourselves. Get over it, no harm no foul. Most newspapers have some kind of random story in there somewhere to lighten things up. Its got to be better than harping on about politics and wars and murder and rape and all the things that are so much more disturbing. If you dont like it, go back to arguing incessantly about things you will never change. Its just a story. Who cares.

Well it was a reason fo rme not get softbank at th etime, as my current plan gives me 444 freee offpeak minutes a month to all phones. Its not like Im going to complain to my multiple bosses to get a softbank phone so I can save money. Vodafone and telecom did the same thing back home and it was annoying. But same old thing from phone companies, never giving anything with true value, just this percieved value that lured you in. Basically Im saving money on Au, but only because I got in on a special limited deal. Im thinking of going to softbank just for th ebetter english language support and cool new phone models they have brought out recently.
