I hate it the most when I take th efirst train home after a night out and fall asleep on the train and wake up half an hour away from my usual stop. I vow never to behave that way again. PLease dont blame me, the trains here only run once ever 30 minutes and its aong way to go for a night out.

Americans: Always complaining about everything they see and comparing it to back home...so go back home. Loud mouthed and arrogant, and flashing around thier money because its worth more than ours. Always going on about how they are the saviours of the world, and 'thanks for loving freedom'. Self righteous and arrogant and loud. Chinese, loud, rude, public spitting. Pushy towards staff at any shop. pushing in lines.
Korean*same as above.
Japanese: Pulling up in buses, pouring out, taking a million photos a second, then piling back on the bus after taking some sideways glances at the locals, like we shouldnt be there.

Nessie: ha yeh, I actually get asked if NewZealand has 4 seasons all the time. I just tell them we live in perpetual darkness and sub zero temperatures in winter and then in summer...spf+3000 I dont know about America, but I used to think girls back home were shallow and materialistic, but then I got here. Thank god they arent all like that though. Mind you I dont mind if they keep on looking good either.

Its just an over assertion of authority, and ypocracy where the corrupt of parliament dictate to ordinary people what is ok for them to view. What will happen is a huge blackmarket in banned images, more money for the yakuza, more payoff to the politicians and law enforcement. Certain sites should be shut down world wide for sure, but who decides what is ok? Will we all agree?
Posted in: That the government is going to get involved in selecting, by means of filtering software, what information should be blocked - this is completely outrageous. This absolutely cannot be allowed.

mostly the lewdness and grotesque aspect of the photo is amusing. Life is too short to get up in arms about this kind of thing. This is no more lewd than the average Lingerie billboard, or music video, and is in fact less so because it is done with humour.

What kids want to read Japan today? It's just a festival and a bit of a laugh, all the prudes need to take a deep breath and get over it. Theres no nudity, and its a festival that goes on outside in the public streets. Not everyones idea of perverion is the same. I think its pretty gross myself, but who cares, no harm no foul.

NO not become a socialist country, it doesnt have to be that black and white. Just limit the ability of landowners to exploit the situation. Why does good business acumen have to mean not giving a flying **** about the world around you? By the way Im not from a socialist country. The situation was that landlords were exploiting the situation. Capitalism never had to be so absolute as to make profit valued over all else, but everyone seems to think otherwise.

This is ridiculous and terrible. CCP has no idea about the standards they violate, and then cry media bias. How can here be a media bias when the media is banned? If they want truthful reporting why keep out the press..? Everything they do just paints them in a worse light, and every statement they make is so transparent. Who do they think they are fooling? How is it fair or just to require someone to denounce thier religeous leader? If it wasnt so serious I would be laughing at every statement put out by the CCP.

You only have to read the last paragraph of the story to see it was a joke. Glad to see an australian prime-minister not toadying to the US. If you can see the joke of the salute, it could even be seen as a slight to Bush, read some sarcasm or irony into it and its quite a good one.
sarge- you didnt really find wottocks comment that offensive did you? Its no secret or surprise to find that Bush is not the epitome of popularity outside of the US. Im sure your next president would not get quite the same animosity.

It has always baffled me, how in the world we live in , life is so cheap, and yet it is so expensive just to stay alive. The cost of living is rising in most developed nations, and declining birthrates are happening everywhere because of it, not just in Japan. But if Japans birthrate has fallen significantly more, well, even people who know next to nothing about Japan, know it is famous for the high cost of living. The only cheap housing in Japan is in somewhat rural areas, so yes, the rural areas, where the jobs are fewer, and lower paying, are where the birthrates are highest. Yet the cities, with the better employment opportunities yet exponentially more expensive living costs has the lower birthrates. The only way to get ahead is to be a workaholic or lucky, the former do not have much time left for any family making. Just seems like an obvious and unavoidable cycle. One unpopular possibility is what happened back home, where there was a cap put on the maximum rent allowable per square metre in inner city apartments. They also put in a miminum allowable meterage for all new apartments, as so many foreign asian students were living in Tokyoesque shoeboxes and paying exorbitant rents. Landlords may lose out, but ordinary people could have a better quality of residence available to them, when there is a standard implemented. I dont know what the standards are here though, but it just takes concern from local government for thier citizens quality of life.

I dont think they seek to replace consultations, as it requires monitoring and action to be taken by the monitorers. I think mostly its meant as a tool to aid in understanding laughter.
That aside, those mountain mushrooms must hae had some funky ones mixed in there, that would be the best explanation for the 3 hour laughing fit he and his friends had.
