In other words - Mookie lost, the new Iraqi gov't won.

The disappointment in the media and on the Left is something to behold.

Still looks to me like a race that a year ago the Republicans could have only wished for - the "legacy" of Bill Clinton is being slowly and mercilessly destroyed, the Democrat party is splintering, and they will most likely nominate another Jimmy Carter who will be revealed as little more than a product of the Chicago political "Machine."

Great piece in The Progressive by an African American writer and professor who lives in Obama's district and has watched his career from the start -

">> Obama is just 165.5 delegates short" << I think it's just terrible the way Americans go around cutting people in half just because it's an election year. It shouldn't be allowed."

The half-delegate is a token rep we let our Democrat party toss to Europe and the various other America-wannabes demanding the right to participate in our election.

    Back to the topic -

    Obama picks up 9 superdelegates

The whole idea of superdelegates is just one more example of how the Democrat
primary contradicts the party's and basically the New Left's entire platform.

The same party that has filled the universities, TV, airwaves and media with an army of loyal groupthink apparatchiks insisting that Washington doesn't listen to the average voter believed they had to appoint a bunch of cronies and race pimps to ensure a primary outcome in which rank and file Dems don't get nominated an individual who is unelectable in the national.

"Tell us honestly - do you REALLY care whether or not Sen. Obama may or may not have smoked 'choom' in high school? I don't."

Barack is supposed to The One who can heal our 'broken souls', his wife claims.

He was given by his white grandmother the means to attend the most exclusive high school in Hawaii and at the end of four years there it's his "choom gang" that looms largest in his life?

Even in America you are known by the company you keep...

Add to the list of shady pals like the slum lord Tony Rezko, the terrorist Bill Ayers, and the racist Rev Wright the name Keith Kakugawa, one of Barry Obama's "choom gang," a thrice-convicted drughead loser now homeless in L.A. -

"I'll admit, it feels good to be a non-American and to have called it right a bunch of times more than the Americans who back Sen. McCain :-)"

    If you say so.

Who are we to argue with the echo you hear in your lunchbox.

But I don't see people like you "calling" anything.

I think all that most Americans here see you do is advertise how badly you want to vote in our election or be American.

    Very interesting link, RR.

The message accompanying Barry's photo includes more personal history the media selectively ignores.

"Choom" is Hawaiian slang for getting high.

Again, imagine if a Republican had a high school background like this.

Imagine how savagely McCain would be attacked if even his son, who served in Iraq, had ever publicly displayed a druggie lifestyle.

smithinjapan : "Yeah, well, the Hez won the democratic election that the US so badly pushed for, so they ought to just keep their yaps shut."

Looks like we another poster here battling with some serious fixations.

Are you telling us it is only America that wants to see free elections for Lebanon?

Are you claiming Europe approved of Syria's occupation of that tragic country?

The United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada and Australia all officially list Hezbollah and its external "security arm" as a terrorist organization.

"What's more, this is proof that American-like spying on your citizens private transmissions, etc., is not always taken in such a pacified manner."

    What a bizarre assertion.

Any and all of the surveillance and spying in the region (which undoubtedly predates the US presence there) is "American-like"?

Have you anything to substantiate this, or do enjoy mistaking what you pull out of your tinfoil hat for facts?

The "etc." in your charge makes it look like even you don't believe what you write.

"Cindy McCain is guilty of causing unnecessary concern for the American people by denying them access to her tax records."

This is some of the most hilarious commentary on US politics I have ever come across.

"...guilty of causing unnecessary concern for the American people"

    Priceless!

If you are looking for an agent, I know a good one.

sez who2 :" Now, do you really think that Obama doesn't know how many states there are? Or are you simply nit-picking?"

As I asked in my second post on the matter can you imagine the reaction if McCain had made a blunder like this.

I'm fairly certain that Obama knows we have 50 states.

But maybe he should wear one of those flag pins to help him remember.

Al Jazeera, other news agencies are reporting that Al Qaeda is getting involved -

"Al-Qaeda 'declares war on Hezbollah' Fri, 09 May 2008 19:19:35

"Al-Qaeda has reportedly called on its operatives to go to Lebanon and defend what it called the Sunni community of the country.

"The report came while some Arab media outlets described the current clashes in Lebanon as a fight between Sunni and Shia communities. "

What happens when the Sunni - Shia conflict rends Muslim communities beyond the Mid East?

Notice that Obama also says, "...one left to go, and...Alaska and Hawaii I was not allowed to go to."

Does he think there are 60 states in total?

He'll need those extra nine super delegates. He thinks America has 57 states.

Iran is seeing the tide turn against their proxies in Iraq so they strike in Lebanon.

How can people be so blind to their endgame for the region?

"It is just that the US Government has had a history of seeking tax evasion indictments against those who go against the grain. It has been a potent weapon in silencing those they believe are not in sink with the status quo. "

If you actually knew anything about America you'd know that Big Al's time as a "threat to the system" has pretty much passed.

Raising that bar, lowering that bar. Is it a Dem/Repub thing?

Obama's wife (who hasn't done too badly - for the daughter of a precinct captain in Chicago's fabled "Machine," able to get into Princeton despite poor grades because her older brother was a basketball star there) constantly says "they" keep raising the bar on the ordinary folks who are on the verge of escaping the grind.

"Just because the country of Cuba doesn't run their government like certain Americans want it run, so george bush tries to divert attention away from his fiasco government."

And all those Cubans, risking their lives as they flee Fidel's socialist paradise on makeshift rafts, they were brainwashed by Bush's hand-picked mouthpieces at Fox News?

A European observer of the US election pointed out that the Democrat party have as their candidates a witch (not the original term, but close) who is a lawyer who is married to a lawyer and also a lawyer who is married to a witch who is a lawyer.

The Republicans, on the other hand, have a genuine war hero who married a former beauty contest winner whose father owned a beer distribution conglomerate of some kind.

    Is there really any contest?
