This paranoia scares me more than anything. Not far behind is the propaganda blitz to cover up that paranoia.

Bad enough animals have to die to be food. But to torture them even before that. It needs to stop. But seriously, this is the tip of the iceberg. Regular treatment at thousands of factory farms across the nation are just as bad as this practice, if not actually worse.

A slap dash attempt to control our thoughts.

There is nothing wrong with young teen models. If Vogue is worried about them getting exploited, perhaps Vogue could stop exploiting them? Denying them an early and beneficial start in the industry hardly seems much nicer than exploiting them.

The move is an important one for the fashion world, said model Sara Ziff, who was discovered at 14

Hoping to eek out a few extra years, where without this rule you would be put out to pasture sooner?

And the BMI idea is horribly discriminatory. Its like affirmative action for the fashion world. If a woman is naturally thin, why should she be denied? That is just unfair. If a woman is diagnosed with an eating disorder, then barring her would be fair until two doctors agree that she is cured.

“We know that there is an impact for young girls—and boys, by the way—of what is put in front of them in terms of media,” said Elissa J Brown, professor of psychology at St John University

Thought police. No way I am going to support this. Other media round out what we see anyway. If the fashion world drops skinny women, some place else will pick them up. Why? Because some men and women like to look at them. This won't fix anything, but just shuffle problems elsewhere.

A campaign needs to be created which pulls Japanese heads out of their own butts. The utter lack of moment to moment situational awareness in this country is a travesty, and at the root of a huge amount of these type of accidents. That campaign needs to be aimed at elementary school students, because for those older, it seems to be too late.

Next, the police need to start assigning blame where blame is due. This automatic blame the driver policy is cracked, and such policies help explain why the Japanese just shut down on situational awareness; why think so much if the other guy automatically wins? Pedestrians and bicyclists know they are practically invulnerable to blame while at the same time being stupidly unaware that when its them vs a car, they will lose on the road even if they win in court.

Last, police need to start a campaign making pedestrians and bicyclists aware of the new blame where blame is due policy and actually start giving warnings and tickets to insane pedestrians and cyclists. And I am not talking about careful jaywalking. I am talking about wearing dark clothes at night with no reflectors, no flashlight and walking along dark stretches of road. I am talking about darting out into traffic. I am talking about suicidal jaywalking from people who think the law giving them the right of way means cars can stop on a dime.

    Braces. Use them.

Just one fine example of how so many of you just don't get it. Braces cannot fix these yaeba. Yaeba are not crooked teeth, at least not in the sense its being used here. Yaeba is like a fang placed directly outside the perimeter of the rest of the teeth. Its not a snaggletooth either. Its like a fang, something lots of westerners have dentists create for them too, only the style is different.

The ministry said that Rikuentai failed to keep driver’s manuals, which contain route and safety information, and neglected to carry out driver health confirmations before shifts began.

Is that seriously all they got? If the company was within the law as far as distance and time limits per drivers, then I hope the government gets investigated for negligence too.

However, Rikuentai said that a relief driver is only necessary if the journey is over 670 kilometers. The stated distance of the trip to Tokyo Disneyland was 540 kilometers.

The real point is, how far and how long did the driver actually drive before dozing off. Never mind the maximum legal limit or the estimated planned trip. Those things are not strictly relevant. How far did he actually drive? How many hours was he actually at the wheel? Seem to me he only made it about half way, and that indicates some other more serious problems.

It is kind of ridiculous to blame the US, etc for Taliban killings and bombs.

So you just expected them to quit their own country in the face of American and Coalition jet dropped bombs, attack helicopters, Preditor drones and guided missles??? I didn't. I expected them to fight by any means they can, which is what they are doing.

Figure it out though. I don't approve of those means, but to not expect them would be total ignorance.

But if a bomb blew up your family, you would not be passing out forgiveness if it were a Taliban suicide bomber or American collateral damage. You would just conclude, rightly, that it never would have happened if the Coalition were not in your country. The Taliban did not do this before American charged in with their buddies.

And you know, you don't have to feel bad about it. Its not like anybody knocked on your door and asked your opinion before ship.ping off the troops. So it won't kill you to see this folly for what it is.

Yaeba should be called yaeba, because "crooked teeth" and "snaggle tooth" do not accurately describe them, plus they bring unnecessary negative baggage.

A good pair of yaeba can make a girl as sexy as all those vampire chics you see in movies, like Kate Beckinsale or Aaliyah.

There is also the severe problem of a limited number of English words they can twist, misspell, and bastardize in a way that is catchy. Vellfire (hellfire), Vits (bits), Infiniti (infinity), Acura (accurate), Stepwagon (???), Scrum (scum +crumb?), Cervo (servo), Celsior (excelsior), Estima (estimate), Windom (freedom-free+wind). This way they can just rehash that garblish.

If Tokyo puchases it, they can dispatch/station MPD. They can develop a ports /infrastructure in the future where it becomes easier for the SDF to station there.

Private land in Japan does not seem to be a bar to U.S. military bases all over Okinawa.

Why not stick with the old plan to be prepared for any future increases in troop numbers on Guam?

Or is the new empire going to disband a few legions from its grossly oversized standing army? Nah. Americans today do not heed the sound of the Founding Fathers pounding on their coffin lids.

He said he wanted to talk about religious liberty,

Why would he want to talk about that? Its not like anyone has any trouble worship.ping freely in America...unless what he really means is the religious liberty to enshrine your religious belief into law and force others to obey your religious tenets. Yes, I think that is what he actually means.

And considering that he will surely reach the hot place faster than any atheist who dies in the same second, surely his only use for religion has ever been to fool real believers and get their fool vote.

The Tailban are not barbaric, nudgenudge?

Is there some kind of reason why you feel the need to ask me such a stupid question nandakandamanda? If the point of going to Afghanistan was to out do Taliban barbarism, I would say mission accomplished. There were a whole lot fewer dead kids when the Taliban was in control.

Its not too cool to see someone's child getting glazed over eyes because their parents or people nearby are getting their high on and non-smokers are getting less oxygen,

Hyper-sensitive. When I was kid, my grandparents smoked like chimneys and in winter time, when we finally got out of the car, one might think my sis and I were riding with Cheech and Chong. We are both still healthy, but if that changes, I would sooner blame factory smokestacks.

We both also got contact buzzes from our mother and step-father from elementary school and junior high on up. Both straight A students.

most likely because they want to satisfy their own wants and desires

That is me for sure but not like you think. I don't like smoking MJ directly. I prefer to have some cocktails. But being around high people is a lot more fun than drunk ones, especially some of the drunks tend to get violent. MJ users, if they drive, also tend to drive slower.

In the long run I wouldn't mind MJ being completely legalised for anyone who wants to use it as long as it does not affect people around them from the "exhaust".

Thus the cafes. I would think everyone would be happy with the situation in Holland and seek to have these cafes in all countries. Everyone except the groups at the two ends of the drug war. Its not only the dealers making money off of it you know. Politicians, police, government contractors and yes, even those people on the U.N. Narcotics Commission make money off the drug war, and so many would lose their jobs if this neo-prohibition, stupid as the last one, ever ended.

I don't see wanting to rid Afghanistan of the Taliban as the same thing as craving war, blood and death.

Surely some people just wanted rid of the Taliban, and were so blinded by the idea of regime change that they could not see the war would make things worse. But not all war supporters have the same motives. Some just wanted the war for war's sake. Its why I tend to prefer the company of peace loving people. You can be very sure their motives are not barbaric. With war supporters, you can never be so sure.

However, the Afghanis do seem to have chosen the Taliban and the foreign militaries should leave them to it.

Yes, and I knew that 11 years ago.

It looks like he is retired so he doesn't have to commute on a train or subway or work in an office that requires air conditioning.

A simple question here, in two parts. A: How many nuclear power plants are required to run all that? B: How many nuclear power plants does Japan have?

I support this guy's message. This old man's hat is definitely covering a part of his body that old age has not caught up to yet.

Is it my imagination, or do you seem to be taking some sort of glee in this?

The accusation is much better aimed at those that supported warring on the Taliban in the first place. So many just plain seemed to crave war and blood and death.

But its pretty hard to say "I told you so!" in monotone, no matter the subject matter.
