No, thank you. I needed that reassurance that I was not losing my mind in this sea of bizarre accusations against me. Gee whiz. These people don't realize how much they confuse young men by allowing them to think a girl should be treated as a girlfriend despite not putting out. That only not only confuses him it frustrates him. Young men need to learn how to deal with their urges, and one method is to find a girl who will peform. Pandering to girls who won't leads to situations like this.

Here? If you mean "here" as in planet Earth, you will get nothing but agreement from me. Japan is NOT so special in any area of crime except for guns and murders and they are few. Random stranger rape would also seem to be low, but this is not that.
Laughed at? I laugh at you! Women are often told the police can do nothing, and realistically, they can't. The larger problem is that women do not help themselves here, and neither do friends and relatives help them. Stalking and DV are not remotely Japan only problems, its not primarily the police that ends those problems anywhere.

My advice is for young men who will resort to things like this if they don't get sex. My only agenda is prevention of such incidents. If you forbid your daughter to have sex before marriage, that is your perogative. First of all, it is not enough to separate attacks by extremist religious group. You also need to separate whether the attacks are national or international to get a vague idea of what is more civil than religious. Even then, I have no doubt Islamic extremist groups will come out in the lead. But its not a problem with Islam. Its a problem with extremists. Before this Islamic extremist deal, we had plenty of Marxist extremist deals in non-Muslim countries. And your type blamed communism. But it wasn't communism. It was extremists, doing the same damn thing they always do. They just act like they found reasons in Islam like they pretended they found reasons in communism, and you give them credence.

Semantics are big part of your trouble. Your inaccurate use of language leads to you being misunderstood, not only by others, but even by yourself. America WAS NOT bombed on 9-11. Its not semantics. Its facts. America suffered terrorist attacks on 9-11 in the form of hijackings and crashing planes. That does not translate to bombing.
No, I want accuracy. Your inability or refusal to pay attention to detail is why you have everything so completely mixed up. There I did play semantics, I admit it. But since you are so inaccurate with language, I feel completely justified.
I am not saying that there is not a worldwide terrorist movement with strong links to Islam (at least in the minds of the terrorists). There is one. My issue is with your irresponsible blaming of all of Islam for that movement (or at least your language presents that, YOUR semantical problem) as well as your refusal to look upon other reasons for it, including equally heinous actions by your own country and your country's businessmen.

flatearther, I am not half as concerned about attitudes as I am concerned about what happens in the real world. You have no proof, not even anecdotal, that this sort of thing happens more in Japan than anywhere else.
And frankly, I am all good with the attitude that women should be available. As for your assertation that stalking, harrassment and violence are acceptable if she isn't, its not that simple. There are laws against those things and I agree with them. What there is is an apathy among the people to fight those on a personal level, but nobody teaches men that they have the right to do whatever they want. That's crazy talk. I would like it if people were more pro-active against that kind of mysogyny, but its no guarantee that real world behaviors will change much. I know of no place it really has. Your idea is practically snake-oil.
Japan remains a place safe for life and limb though. I am wary of tinkering with the formula, particularly since the advocate is exaggerating things.

Why? Is a man supposed to get sex from someone NOT his girlfriend? A girlfriend is for more than just sex, but if she is not providing sex, she is not a girlfriend. If she is acting like one anyway, she is in the way and confusing the man. I cannot even say such a girl is just a friend. More like an enemy. America was not bombed on 9-11. Just the tip of the iceberg of your statements not matching the facts.
I have to admit, I am impressed. Indeed you do seem aware there is a whole world outside of the United States. Unfortunately, you still seem unaware that there is a world of violence unrelated to Islam, and that some violence is only casually linked to Islam. Muslims liked to violence does not make it Islamic violence, and more than violence linked to Christians makes it Christian violence.
London was not bombed. It had bombing incidents. London has not been bombed since the Battle of Britain. Further, it was not all that long ago that Catholics were planting bombs in London. Spain? Yep, that is al-Quaida, a group that at least "claims" to be Muslim. But before they were blamed for the 2004 Madrid bombs, it was believed to be the work of Basque nationalists who are not Muslim and are responsible for more bomb attacks than anybody else in Spain. I know of no specifically Muslim riots in France. Maybe you mean Belgium? The Philippines enjoys separatist violence far beyond just the Islamic kind. Africans war on eachother, but what's new? And the Korean hostages? Not a damn thing to do with religion! The Taliban wanted Korean troops out of Afghan, and it had nothing to do with their religion!

I am not even sure I sure pander to your groundless accusation of who cheers and how many do, as if you have any clue, but the reasons why some cheer have less to do with religion and more to do with hate for the U.S. And while some of that hate is just the hate that is always reserved for number one, some of it is actually deserved through U.S. actions of greed and meddling.

Its no use attacking the attitude though. The true problem is the lack of action. If men are sexually satisfied there is an attitude that comes with it. Anything else is telling them to pull themselves up by the boot straps. Silly.
Anyway, its not fair to say this sort of thing happens more in Japan by reading a site focused on Japan, a site that has to turn to sex related crime such as upskirting of all things to fill the gap left by the lack of shootings and other murders. That is asinine.

Ummm...if it were just that simple these things would not happen. You talk like any man can just walk into a 7-11 and get laid. It is actually difficult to get laid for most men you know. And that leads to frustration that one simply cannot take care of by themselves. There is no completely satisfying replacement for the real thing.
