Sounds to me like Cleo is a bit of an elitist. Anyone who's studied the smallest amount of psych. could tell you IQ isn't fixed, nor is personal growth. SOme of the biggest dimwits I've ever met here have come off the Kyodai/Todai assembly line.

Kids will never, ever learn to swim much in this country. One learns to swim, when one has to confront the 'deep end' of the pool and cross it. There are no deep ends in japanese pools and every kid knows he can stop anytime and stand up. I wasted a fortune on our kids at a swimming school and the instructors didn't give a rat's a*** that they hadn't made any progress, just as long as the fees were there at the end of the month.

This passes for 'kakoii' behavior in this country. I'm surprised he's not texting someone and watching TV at the same time frankly. J cops, gotta love 'em.

Then you will need; 1 plastic squeak mallet, peroxided hair, and begin every sentence with 'ahoka!' In fact you won't even have to really speak any Japanese. Just say 'ehhh,' 'areee'? 'honto?' and 'ahoka!' in whichever order doens't really matter and remember to whack the person next to you with the hammer every ten seconds . Do this and it should work out fine

"This kind of single men target only foreign women". Scary, yes. About as scary as your odd logic... Why on earth do you think a sicko would single out a foreign woman? Strange logic lady.

smithinjapan: So you opted to take advantage of the health benefits while they were available, then stiffed the country for the bill? You had the choice of opting out from the get-go and this looks all to familiar with many foreigners here. Play the system both ways for as long as possible then when the piper has to be paid, tell them to shove it. 'Hmmmm' indeed. You sound like a carpetbagger to me....

Huh...? Silly me! I thought the story was going to be about an unloved 62 year old. Slap forehead, continue... Not carrying your card is your problem. Yeah, I know, I don't really like having to do it either but it is your responsibility and making any kind of a scene about being asked to flash one is just petulance. And Sarge, I'd really love to visit this dream world you live in. It sounds totally unfamiliar and so cool.

What the DPRK crave more than anything is international recognition. The latest saber rattling is to stir up the collective douche spirit of the starving populace. I say starve them... Not a nice thought, but cut all aid, keep communication to a trickle and shoot the "satellite" down pronto.
Here's a guy who lets his people believe he shot 11 (sic) holes in one in his first ever game of golf. WHo let's people believe he was born on a mountain top and thereafter birds twittered suddenly and rainbows appeared everywhere. Now that the cognac and Asahi Dry supply has been cut off he must be getting edgy. Time to come down to earth Kimmi. Then if not you, the rocket.

So what does this man want? A return to the old theocracy and serfdom, brutal taxes imposed by the monasteries of the past? The Tibetans were a flat earth society, deeply ignorant in temporal matters. This doesn't excuse the Han Chinese from their behavior but at least the Tibetans now have running water, electricity, trains, adequate medical services etc. A Shangrila it certainly wasn't.

God, just what we do not need in this world; more aggressive men hiding their innermost fears through postulating the outcomes of violence. Worse, postulations on the basis of race. What utter crap. I think you'll find the majority, the overwhelming majority of Japanese people in fact, to be very courteous and helpful. I have and still do, so let's stop the childishness please ...

What's to know? That they adore an ex jail bird who reneges on promises of personal and societal reform? Spends record breaking sums of money in boutiques for a personal wardrobe and offers not a shred of intelligence in interviews. Jealous? No really, just tired of the low caliber role models. No wonder so many young J women are hare-brained. Oops, sorry Sarge, a sensitive point...

So what happened to all the charity work Paris? Remember? After you got out of jail you promised to quote, 'set a better role model' unquote. You also said you would be, 'working hard for charities'. The charities concerned all say they've heard zilch. Keep up the good work ...

The Imperial Army (or navy in this case) penetrated as far as Tasmania with reconnaissance flights over the island from a sub launched sea plane. This information can be found on the net from reliable sources. Also the Curtain government had made a concession to divide the country in half laterally, with the Japanese having the top end. The Japanese war time government had even printed a new Australian currency and this is a fact. A good read on the era; 'The Heroes of Rimau'.

Time to recall the recent incidents of "groping" that have been through lengthy and costly legal processes from defendants, shown to be fabrications for whatever reasons. I come from a different age and a quick slap would have remedied the situation. But no, here goes some idiot to a prison and for what? Not a crotch or tittie grab but a 'kiss'? OK, it's offensive and unwanted. Worthy of a prison sentence? Which it will probably be? Modern times indeed. Give me a break ...
