By demonstrating that Japan itself was vulnerable to American air attack, it provided a vital morale boost

The Doolittle Raid was to boost moral and terrorize the enemy.

    When did China buy AFP?

strategically located island chain known as Diaoyu

What is strategical about its location?

long-running diplomatic dispute between China, Japan and Taiwan.

Wrong! "Dispute" started only after gas.oil was found.

Two Chinese patrol boats recently conducted a mission to monitor “illegal” oil and gas extraction projects

AFP knows that there are no projects but says nothing.

and recent incursions by Chinese navy vessels into Japanese waters meant that Japan had to be more vigilant.

And stop giving aid to China!!

    http://seetell.jp/en/25921

And how does it fit that Japan is building cities in China when the US occupation of Okinawa continues for its 67th year because China is seen as a threat to Japan? Is it reasonable to both spend money to defend oneself against China while spending money to build up China at the same time? In fact, it could be argued that China’s military growth is a direct result of their recent economic success. If Japan is truly afraid of China, should it be contributing to its greater economic success which would allow China to spend even more on its military?

Meanwhile, the government has not been slow about sending Japan’s dwindling wealth overseas for 'humanitarian needs'.

    . . .

In the last few months - all under the Noda regime - Japan has sent billions of Yen overseas to fund a highway in India, to Egypt's new government which is already in debt to Japan, untold amounts to Europe to bail out the banks and bondholders of Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and Italy, and \67 billion to Iraq to help it rebuild following the decade-long US occupation. This is not, by any means, an exhaustive list (schools in Pakistan, ports in Indonesia, etc).

Perhaps the Japanese people should appeal to the UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, and the WHO for help so that Japanese funds will reach the Tohoku area's Japanese people at a faster pace. Or maybe the Japanese should cause a little 'political crisis' of their own.

there is a lot of it

And yet not one shred of evidence that this was government policy has been provided.

that would not have been the case if not thanks to Japan, right?

    Wrong as usual.

    1. Korea would almost certainly be part of China like Tibet is now or part of Russia.

    2. There are 2 Koreas because NK attacked SK, China invaded Korea in support of NK and Truman would not use the A-bomb against China to save American lives.

Bad Data Guided U.S. Fukushima Call

In the days after Japan's 2011 nuclear accident, the U.S. surprised the world by ordering a 50-mile evacuation zone for U.S. citizens, far larger than Japan's own zone. That sowed fear and created tension with one of the U.S.'s closest allies.

he said, The firebombs were a birthday present for my grandmother. This is the highlight of my life.

The interview was conducted in English at a jail in a police station in central Seoul. “I was shocked at what my grandmother told me and was angry over Japans irresponsibility on this matter. I also set fire to the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo in December last year after Japans lack of sincerity on the comfort women matter at the Korea-Japan summit talks,” he said.

He said his Japanese girlfriend helped him set fire to the shrine on Dec. 26 last year. Meeting her when he went to Japan for volunteer work as a therapist after the Fukushima nuclear meltdown, he helped his girlfriend to cope with depression.

According to police, the suspect bought five liters of gasoline in Fukushima the day before he attacked the shrine and made a preliminary visit to the scene, then threw firebombs past midnight using glass bottles. He searched Wikipedia to learn how to make the firebombs. The man, however, refused to say how his girlfriend helped him. Police said, "We confirmed that a Japanese woman accompanied him, but she departed for Japan on Jan. 1.”

What volunteer program did he join in Japan?

Have Japanese police arrested his girlfriend?

Best thing to happen would be if they're brought back to Japan for trial. Any prison sentence they may get could be served in Australia. It saves Japan from having to care for these wackos and Australia would have to jail some of their heroes.

I don't see the Korean government asking for an apology.

During the last meeting between these 2 governments, Lee spent(wasted) most of the time complaining about "comfort women" issue.

Lee Myung-bak, South Korean president, is asking for Japan to apologize and provide compensation to the victims of Japan’s ‘comfort stations’.
