This will continue to happen if many officials are NOT USED TO complaints. That's the problem when generally people don't complain about bad things happening, so when you complain, they thlnk you are whining and you're the one who is bad. People should start complaining so things will change for the better.

To the welfare services (seikatsu hogo:
I think, in order for these things not to happen is to get informations from the Utilitiy companies. If house's electric or gas has been totally cut off, this information should be sent to the welfare services so the people there can visit the family.
Another thing, they should promote community bonding here. They can hold like an area or apartment complex "party" or gathering few times a year. The people can play sports, do BBQ or something.

They should blame the school. He didn't have to die if the girl didn't go to school in the first place because of bad weather. Who in the right mind would ask kids to go to school if there's a blizzard warning? They should have at least made the kids leave early. Just like stated by some people. This could have been prevented. The girl didn't have to go through it and live without parents.

"“Experts are still divided over ways to calculate the impact of limited levels of radioactive exposure over a long period,” the official said. “It is incorrect to think that residents will develop cancer in these ratios.” - See more at: http://www.japantoday.com/category/national/view/japan-riled-by-whos-fukushima-cancer-warning#sthash.E8Y0tAGt.dpuf"
Ridiculous! Common Sense will tell you that if you are not sure if there's impact or not, shouldn't stay there at all! Human being have the tendency to choose the status quo because that's how our brains work. If they think there are possible dangers there, they should keep people away especially kids there! It's all about money and not wanting to spend money because doing the right thing is more expensive, that's the reason they don't want the findings by the UN.

According to the news, the govt had prepared them for the typhoon a week before. Unfortunately, those who were affected were in the areas based from the geohazard map are prone to landslides, with or with illegal logging or mining. Another thing is that the flashfloods were caused by overflowing rivers in the mountains and the some twisters that the residents saw.

To be honest, I think the best way for the students to achieve better education is to improve the quality of materials in Japan. No doubt many people here have been to Japanese schools and many teachers are "minimalist," they try to teach with less materials as much as possible. They should use more tools than chalk. I rarely see teachers use the flat screen TVs in school.
About the additional day, they can just add an extra hour a day so they don't have to be in school on Saturdays, don't you think that's easier?

I think it's more of a cultural difference. Maybe the tune of Gangnam style doesn't jive with the Japanese tune of music. Other groups like Kara and Girls Generations, sound Japanese to me.and I think that's the reason why. Also many young Japanese are not so into dancing. They prefer the idol style dancing for some reason I don't know why.

Cacharodon,
I think your info above are all true. The best way to clean the intestines is to step on the washlet and squat on it, that solves all the issues here. No more sitting on dirty washlets and you'll be healthy the same time,,haha.

Where Did you get the data? 3rd Fastest Economy in Asia and shrinking middle class? As the country grows, GDP decreases? Haha. How's that possible? Look it up on Wikipedia, only 20-30% in the Philipines are considered poor by UN. That means 70-80 belong to middle class and the rich.

Dog,
I read the business news everyday, so trust me, I know what I'm saying. Your 15M middle class is so 1960s. I advise you to read business news everyday. There are 10 million Filipinos abroad sending 20.1 Billion dollars a year (yes, look closer, the figure is right, goggle it if you want) And there are 86 million cell phone subscribers in the Philippines (they can'tbuy a phone(s) if they can't buy food right?) Billion dollars worth of agricultural product exports and minerals especially copper. 13 billion dolalrs in the BPO industry (number 1 in the world,India is 2nd) . I can go on but I think you get the picture. Visit the Philippines, and you'll know. omicronOct. 01, 2012 - 10:34AM JST
Obviously the best candidates here are the Philippines
15,000,000 Phillippines are classified as being middle class. China has a middle class of more than 150,000,000. Like I said, unless the Phillippines wins the Euro lottery as a collective, the Japanese can manufacture all the high end goods it wants to in the Phillippines, but they're not going to be able to sell them.

This guy has a lot of hate and most likely never been to countries he mentioned here. You watch too much TV pal, you don't know the reality.
Obviously the best candidates here are the Philippines ( 3rd fastest growing economy now in Asia, loves Japan, speaks English, friendly and definitely not racist unlike CallmeB ), Myanmar ( low cost) and Indonesia. (2nd fastest growing in Asia)
-16 callmeBOCT. 01, 2012 - 07:50AM JST The Malaysian and Singaporean hate your guts. The Filipinos are a lazy bunch and there's not much they can do there, not including the Muslim terrorism that goes on in the outskirts. The Thai, well you saw the flooding and riots. Vietnam is another communist state that hates you. Myanmar is a military state and the staunchest ally of China. IF China says, no import from Myanmar to China, your companies and investments die immediately in the former Burma.
Honestly speaking, if you want to tap the Chinese market, you have no where to go but India. But Indians like the Koreans a lot more than you people, so you are at a huge disadvantage there. And right now, the Chinese don't want you in their country. Its not about your assessment of risks of doing business in China. Its about China and the Chinese kicking you out. Two completely different circumstances. Get that through your self-obsessive skull of yours. Your Business and investments are unwanted in China. Leave now and American businesses and European businesses will replace you immediately. Like I said, everything you make are completely replaceable. At the end of the day, you lose a 1.4 billion consumer market. Your loss. Our gain.
